That's all, folks! Goodness only knows what happens now. But at least that Grade A twat is no longer representing us abroad.

Yeah I did like him, I thought he had the countries best interests at heart and was a straight shooter. But the Gove fiasco and this prove me wrong. I think this is all about him and his ambitions and I really think that's wrong right now. It's really disappointing that people like him gain power and make it all about their careers.

Seasawride · 09/07/2018 16:25

Babies

Your 6 year old is pretty clever then because there isn’t one. It’s a calamity on any level and the only sensible position is to stay in.

Labour know that just as well as the Tories so havnt produced any plan. Neither have Boris or Gove.

If it was that easy it would be easy. Don’t kid yourself!!!

WittyJack · 09/07/2018 16:25

Put Abbott up in any kind of swing seat and see how she gets on - that’d be interesting. She’s nice and cosy in a seat that’s only ever gone labour, and would vote in the proverbial donkey in a red rosette! However, her constituents seem generally happy with her.

I don’t trust BoJo as far as I could throw him in the infamous red bus. Vile self serving bastard.

Terri is doing a terrible job, even given that it’s a poisoned chalice. Horrible government, doing horrible things.

And yet the thought of comrade Corbyn and dinosaur McDonnell makes me want to weep. I think we’d be paying for their half baked fuck-ups for a long time, at a time when we desperately need to attract investment.

I just... 66,000,000 people, or thereabouts, and we have nobody better than the current shower? Urgh Sad

Bluntness100 · 09/07/2018 16:26

Securing his own future is all about distancing himself from the reality of Brexit, to rise like a phoenix when it's all done and dusted... He definitely doesn't want to be PM now!

That's the thing none of them do. It's nigh on unwinnable and will be career ending for anyone in the chair and they all know it. Even Corbyn doesn't want to do it. It's a career ender.

CambridgeAnaglypta · 09/07/2018 16:30

Can we beg David Miliband to come back?

Let's see who starts positioning themselves on both sides over the next few weeks.

If TM looks wobbly (or more wobbly) Labour may take the chance to dump Corbyn.

Seasawride · 09/07/2018 16:31

Worldwide

No I am definitely not gleeful. It’s awful but I hope the TM plan is put through as it seems the best of a terrible job.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2018 16:33

I'm not gleeful. It's laugh or cry for me at the moment, but the laughter is verging on hysteria. How has our country gone so wrong so fast?

We need a new referendum don’t we? I voted remain admittedly - but surely this isn’t what the leaders voted for either?

longwayoff · 09/07/2018 16:35

Yes delighted he out of that job. No because he's a devious bastard with his own agenda. goodbye Mrs May. Hello brexit bastards rees mogg, gove, johnson and co. God help us all.

Ta1kinPeace · 09/07/2018 16:35

No need for a second vote.
The last one was only advisory in law
and the margin was less than the Leave campaigners said was valid (had it gone the other way)
and the leave campaign was funded by Putin

cancel Article 50 and try to rebuild the UK economy before its too late

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2018 16:36

I want a new referendum. The last one was a disaster. Cameron should (a) never have allowed himself to be pressured into having one and (b) having given way should have taken the obvious precaution which is usual in a referendum of saying there had to be a minimum turnout and a far higher percentage in favour than a simple majority.

And that's before we even address the fact that the whole thing appears to have been deeply corrupt. The Russian influence and funding of the Leave campaign seems beyond dispute now.

I despair.

JeezYouLoon · 09/07/2018 16:38

It's a total bloody mess, we had a referendum, but just a straight in or out. No-one really knew what leaving meant, apart from the side of a bus Hmm

As soon as the out vote came through Boris, Farage etc did one - surely whoever wanted out should be in charge?

What's left is a steaming pile of poo and it's going to get worse.

MaMaMaMySharona · 09/07/2018 16:38

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g wholeheartedly agree and I cannot get over the fact this wasn't adhered to in the first place. Absolute shit show.

My concern is that we've gone too far now for a new referendum to make any difference. If we all turned around now and said 'actually, soz, we're gonna stay after all' would we be able to cancel all the Brexit plans and go back to how it was?

QuiteUnfitBit · 09/07/2018 16:41

The reason why there's a dearth of good politicians is because Brexit is unworkable, so anyone competent doesn't want to have a crack at it. If there were a decent Brexit solution, it would have been found by now.

Perhaps there should be a coalition of competent people from all the main parties... except they are all remainers.

Wannabestepfordwife · 09/07/2018 16:43

Just a question the government is so chaotic at the moment could the EU refuse to identify it as legitimate?

The tories are more concerned with arguing amongst themselves than the general populace and there is no opposition

MIdgebabe · 09/07/2018 16:43

IS there not a risk that the government suffers a leadership challenge which takes so much time that a no deal drop out happens by default. Which means the real hard liners get their way with no compromise.

Bluntness100 · 09/07/2018 16:44

I also agree there should be another referendum. It would be mays get out of jail card. She'd be loved for it. So Ask the country.

I would bet good money they would overwhelmingly say stay now we know just how complex this is, and that people were being asked to vote for something no one understood the implications of.

And that would be the end of Boris.

NanaNoodleman · 09/07/2018 16:44

“I think he had the countries best interests at heart”
Have you just been pissed for the last two years?

QuiteUnfitBit · 09/07/2018 16:45

Just look at the Daily Mail - I think you're kidding yourself. Sad

Bluntness100 · 09/07/2018 16:46

Have you just been pissed for the last two years?

Can't you have a debate without throwing personal insults out? Exactly what do you think your comment adds to this? Or do you feel being offensive is funny?

Cheesecake53 · 09/07/2018 16:46

YAabsolutelyNBU at all :) though I'm worried what he plans next.

NanaNoodleman · 09/07/2018 16:47

He has resigned so he can say May’s soft Brexit is nothing to do with him and preserve his ability to take over when the poor woman has wasted years of her life getting it through.
I have voted Tory for the last two decades. I will not vote for them if that ocean going gobshite is in charge. Lots and lots of people feel the same. He is a disgrace.

sunglasses123 · 09/07/2018 16:47

I really don't think that all the Remainers on this thread are right that if there was another vote everyone would vote remain. They like to think that but I not convinced.

PS: I voted leave and would still vote leave

CambridgeAnaglypta · 09/07/2018 16:48

The last one was only advisory in law Hmm give over with that one.

The trouble is we can't have a new referendum - we had one and the majority voted Leave. It would make even more of a mockery if we did it again. If we did, my betting people just wouldn't bother to vote, because then there'd be another and another. I know I wouldn't turn out again.

UneMoonit · 09/07/2018 16:48

I worry because it brings us closer to Corbyn being PM - honestly he worries me more than Trump, we cannot possibly stand more division, hate, racism and envy as a country and the people he surrounds himself with seem to be made to sow those things.

TFW there is literally no party fit to govern the country :(
