Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

I prefer it as it makes me feel sexier in myself, but also stops itching for me! Wink I did have an ingrown hair one- but germolene solved that!

I wouldn't however get regular waxes down there due to the price of upkeep & I've has them before and never once came out the salon hairless!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 09/07/2018 19:40

@SoddingUnicorns

I can’t run anymore because of the shooting pain. Upside is was that I was induced early both times because of it Grin

SoddingUnicorns · 09/07/2018 19:42

@HelenaDove thank you for the flowers. I’m kind of used to it now if that makes sense, good days and bad days. I’m lucky not to need the crutches any more!

@NotUmbongoUnchained argh that sucks although the upsides sound good! To be fair I couldn’t run before I had SPD Grin

SickOfSitting · 09/07/2018 19:46

The argument isn't really about women who only shave because they think men prefer it or a man is telling them to.

It's more about people who don't think women could be possibly shaving because they like it/the way it looks/feels.

There are some posters who think we must all be blind sheep making ourselves look like porn stars purely for the satisfaction of men! 😂

specialsubject · 09/07/2018 19:49

makes no difference to me what people's reasons are for doing this, but as I wont suffer for appearance there is no way I would have anything waxed even if I did want the look. sounds horrific.

Grandmaswagsbag · 09/07/2018 19:52

Umm that’s exactly what the argument is about. This should never happen. Sadly it does.

boloriabullet · 09/07/2018 20:04

Jesus if I'd have let my husband shave mine whilst pregnant I'd have ended up with a full on clitoradectomy the clumsy bugger

boloriabullet · 09/07/2018 20:07

I definitely don't shave because I think my husband likes it, it just feels nicer really. I know this doesn't make sense physiologically, because pubic hair is supposedly there to keep your vagina clean, but I feel cleaner with a trimmed one.

Also I quite like a shaved bmhle because I just find it feels cleaner when I wipe after a number two. Genuinely.

TornFromTheInside · 09/07/2018 20:30

I don't believe anybody's said that. Merely that the influence of porn does affect actually have an effect on a wider populous.

I can't find a single post where any said 'all must be blind sheep'. It's disingenuous to suggest it.

We do actually have 'conformity' in society though. That doesn't mean everybody follows, but that groups of people can be steered by pressure, persuasion, criticism, praise etc.
We do have sheep like behaviour sometimes.

Definitely can make you feel like that. I feel 'dirty' if I don't shower first thing in the morning. I know I'm not, I know it's psychological, but I need to shower in order to feel clean.
Can totally see how this happens with body hair. Can work the opposit way too where people feel 'exposed' or unfeminine with short hair (in their head).

Are there? Name and shame!

TornFromTheInside · 09/07/2018 21:34

baah

SickOfSitting · 09/07/2018 22:08

Yes lol. Saying it comes from porn (so we are essentially making ourselves look like porn stars) and that younger guys (stereotypical generation there) expect it and take the piss if it's hairy. Confused

It came from a mix all sorts of influences but usually the women who keep it shaved long term are because they like it rather than just to please men.

LemonJ · 09/07/2018 22:28

Did you do a study or a poll?

QueenoftheNights · 09/07/2018 22:44

It wasn't something they grew up with or complained about no, but a lot of older men do like the look of it now it's the norm thing to do.

It's not the norm thing to do.

I am in my 60s. I don't know of any friends who do this. I have no desire to do it. When I was operated on twice after giving birth, 25 years ago, I was horrified when the nurse appeared with a razor. The surgeon had simply asked me to trim the undercarriage a bit. I sent her packing.

Obviously the men you talk about had been watching porn- as you said- and in my opinion it gives men a sense of power to think that women have done this 'for them'. There is this undercurrent that it makes women 'sexier' - just read the comments here- as if we all have masses of hair covering our clitorises, Some women must have very odd ideas of where hair grows!

SickOfSitting · 09/07/2018 22:51

It is the norm and it's become more and more so over the last 20 years. No one would bat an eyelid if you said you had a landing strip down below in rl.

The men I was talking about had been dating women over the years who shaved which is why they knew they liked it and there was nothing to say those women did for "those men." I know I certainly didn't.

SickOfSitting · 09/07/2018 22:54

My mother is in her 60s too and it probably wouldn't be the norm to her either.

Nowadays though, shaving pubic hair is not seen as taboo or shameful and neither should it be either.

bananafish81 · 09/07/2018 23:13

Same

I find I feel much fresher without hair on the undercarriage - I used to find hair underneath could get sticky with various different fluids in the general area (normal vaginal discharge, menstrual fluid, pelvic ultrasound lube during fertility treatment - as well as after sex). I find it much easier to clean myself with a wipe of the skin than trying to get any sticky fluid out of strands of hair. Urine obvs isn't sticky, but I generally find it quicker / easier to properly dry areas of my body without hair than those with. I loved the benefits of shorter hair on my head for quick hair drying - but aesthetically a shaved head isn't really a good look on me, so blow dry it is. Practically as my bits aren't on general view, the aesthetics are less important than the practicalities, so can happily get rid of the hair underneath without anyone knowing.

I am categorically not saying it is dirty or unclean or unhygienic to have pubic hair!! I am saying that I personally feel fresher with it. Just like I have many preferences for things I like that I'm sure others don't, and vice versa.

I would also often find I'd get hair getting stuck to my pantliner, if the edge of the liner curled up so the adhesive side would end up exposed. Would end up giving myself an impromptu wax quite often entirely by accident, as a few strands of hair would end up getting inadvertently yanked out! Blush

HelenaDove · 09/07/2018 23:17

DH is 68 (23 years my senior) and it has never even been on his radar.

bananafish81 · 09/07/2018 23:19

It's not the norm thing to do.

It is the norm insofar as it's not unusual for someone to do this nowadays. There are waxing salons on every high st offering Brazilian waxes - they offer it because there is demand.

It isn't the norm insofar as it's not what most people do. I would guess removing hair is much less common than not removing it.

But it's not something incredibly niche any more either

TornFromTheInside · 09/07/2018 23:22

I believe waxing leaves an incredible niche!

TornFromTheInside · 09/07/2018 23:22

OUCH!!! who threw that???

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 09/07/2018 23:26

@QueenOfTheNight

I’ve just had a quick check... I’m unkempt at the moment, and my pubic hair is covering my clit.

So while I don’t know how everyone’s hair grows, I know where a clitoris is, and I know the general length pubes get to, and I can’t imagine there are many au naturale women whose hair doesn’t cover it.

TornFromTheInside · 09/07/2018 23:27

I'm guessing she meant that the hair can be parted - i.e. it's not going to stop you finding it :-)

HelenaDove · 09/07/2018 23:29

lets face it some blokes need all the help they can get to find it.
