Hopefully the people making comments on Facebook NEVER find themselves in the horrendous position of losing a child in tragic circumstances.

This is so upsetting, that poor sweet girl.

I have just sent my 3 year old daughter off for a holiday to Scotland with her dad. I cannot imagine for a second doing that and not having her come home ever.

Ive seen it reported on bbc breakfast and heard it on radio in England.
Im also very aware of Scotland and its geography as im sure many people in England are!

This sad story was headline news all yesterday and today (in south east England) on radio 2 and 4.

What news are people accessing where it was not once mentioned?

It’ll probably go quiet until the trial and then be in the news more.

Some murders, etc just don’t seem to get the headlines which others do. No idea why.

Why does it matter where it is being reported? A young girl has lost her life. A family has been devastated. I'm sure the police are doing their job and I think the less media coverage the better for the family's sake.

I know this area well and hope that the people on the island will be pulling together to support the family and will not tolerae any sensationalist journalism.
