Yes, I do understand that people are excited about the football, but it’s Tuesday night and my DC, who is completely exhausted, has to get up early for school - the rather scary shouting has just woken her up. Yep, I know someone will say I should move to the middle of nowhere. I would love to - as many people would - but sadly that’s not possible.

Oh I see.

She’s your PFB.

I’ll ring FIFA. I’m sure they’ll call the whole thing off for her.

2up2manydown · 03/07/2018 23:25

Oh, cop yourself on.

GreenCoffee · 03/07/2018 23:25

Re: Domestic Violence afer England games.

Cant speak for other publicans but I made sure that there were posters in the ladies with Womens Aid and local DV helpline numbers on. We are not all just interested in our bar take.

What I cant understand is why some women ripped down the posters over the last couple of weeks.

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:26

Oh fuck off do. It’s every four years!

Watched it with ds2 aged 27 who remembers Southgate penalty miss and my dad abd mom who remember 1966! Mum has altzimers so this was ace for her she loved it.

Bore off.

Well maybe your neighbours will disagree and call EH given that noise shouldn’t start before 8am in a residential area.

JacquesHammer · 03/07/2018 23:27

I often wonder why people who enjoy and are passionate about sport are so looked down upon by people who feel they’re superior because they “don’t get it”.

As with everything, what is to get? Some people like it, others don’t. It isn’t a tricky concept.

BlackeyedSusan · 03/07/2018 23:27

I was following the progress of england by the noises off from nearby flats...

LonginesPrime · 03/07/2018 23:27

I think they sing it's coming home because we invented the game?

Yes, and I think unit was for Euro '96, when it was actually coming home but it's just stuck and become a general anthem.

HazelBite · 03/07/2018 23:28

Gosh there are some really miserable people on this thread, whats wrong in celebrating the talent and persistence of our National team, as PP's have said its once every 4 years, get a grip your kids will go back to sleep.

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:28

jaques

They are dick heads so it’s complicated for them to understand.

clumsyduck · 03/07/2018 23:30

flats

Good god! Why arnt they asleep now as shift work at McDonald’s, cleaning or gardening should start early!

I hope ones nanny is asleep now.

LonginesPrime · 03/07/2018 23:30

IT'S COMING HOME, IT'S COMING HOME, IT'S COMING..,

lardymclardy · 03/07/2018 23:31

I was a right shouty mare this evening! It was okay though as DD was up watching with me Grin

Honestly, it's not like you didn't know this could be a possibility. I'm sure your child didn't suffer too much. It's all been over for an hour now, it's not like a booming bass party next door every night.

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:31

As previously stated dick heads. See hyphenated

seventhgonickname · 03/07/2018 23:36

But we have had some fantastically peaceful times when you can sit outside,in the sun,sip wine and everyone else is inside. The kids are in too.
I could here birdsong last 2 games,a nice pause for us non football fans(and no interference of Poldark)

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:36

Roll on Saturday!

It’s at 3 op so maybe you could perhaps let her watch the match

RedBallpointPens · 03/07/2018 23:37

My neighbours kids wake me up every single weekend. I don't complain because some noise is normal when you have neighbours. I was making a lot of noise around 10pm tonight. My neighbours won't complain because they were up watching it too!

This particular event was watched by millions of people in England. We are happy that our team won. We aren't stupid, we know it won't change the world, but it's a small thing that makes an awful lot of people happy. It's really quite selfish to want us all to be miserable!

RedBallpointPens · 03/07/2018 23:37

Oh, and #itscominghome!

UserX · 03/07/2018 23:37

Of course it does. For many people it is a pretty depressing time to be English. Success in sport, such as cricket, football or tennis certainly raises morale.

Why is it only football that brings out the gammon-faced yobs though? Never had to put up with anyone pissing in my front garden when Andy Murray won Wimbledon. But England winning tonight seems to justify all kinds of anti social behavior.

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:38

It was bad for my nerves though! Grin

England don’t win easy Hmm

JacquesHammer · 03/07/2018 23:40

Why is it only football that brings out the gammon-faced yobs though?

It really isn’t. We have a smallish music festival near where I live and it’s quite frankly revolting for a weekend.

Seasawride · 03/07/2018 23:41

Gammon faced? What’s that?

To be fair in this heatwave pissing on your lawn is helpful.

RhinoGirl · 03/07/2018 23:41

You are being U OP. It’s once every 4 years for crying out loud. And it will be all over and done with by the end of next week. Lighten up a bit.
