Not in my name

I am shaking with anger and horror here... an utterly vicious and horrid attack on all levels.... the ferocity was shocking.

For it then to be attributed to women when they are clearly male is so very shocking on so very many levels......

This has gone too far..... How have the police ever agreed to count crimes committed by males as crimes committed by women, just on the say so of the male committing the crime?

I knew this was happening but I hadn't realised that anyone could "self-id" as female to the police.... How has this happened?

It's interesting that the Daily Fail are covering this, but not allowing comments.

I wonder why that is.

StopPOP · 26/06/2018 20:48

Just bobbing to-

A- Share outrage that the headline states "women"

and

B- A shout out to the staff at Leicester Square. I used to work there and a more dedicated, supportive, team I've yet to find. They do a fantastic job under extreme circumstances sometimes.

sundaynamechange1 · 26/06/2018 20:49

They are NOT women

R0wantrees · 26/06/2018 20:50

With regards reporting constraints/ guidance /implications, this article highlights some of the issues:

MISSING: Woman dressed as man seen in Dronfield

"Police are appealing to find a missing woman who has been sighted dressed as a man in Derbyshire. Lisa Lacey, aged 47, who also uses the name Lisa Hauxwell and Lisa Hauxley, has been missing since Sunday, April 3.

Missing woman Lisa Lacey, aged 47, has recently been sighted in a shop in Dronfield. She is also known as Lisa Hauxwell, Lisa Hauxley and male identity Craig John Hauxwell Officers have identified CCTV footage of her visiting a petrol station shop on Stubley Lane, Dronfield, between 7pm on April 14 and 6pm on April 16.

Lisa, from Leeds, has been known to use a male identity under the name Craig John Hauxwell and the footage appears to show her dressed as man. She is described as white, slim, 5ft 7ins tall, with shoulder-length blonde hair. She has a strong Geordie accent and a stutter. Detective Inspector Phil Jackson, of Leeds District CID, said: “While it is positive to have this confirmed sighting after three weeks of searching, we remain very concerned for Lisa’s welfare and need to find her and establish that she is safe and well."

The differences between a trans woman and a natal woman are obvious; the XY and the XX chromosomes, the difference in physical strength, one has a penis and bollocks, one has a fanny and ovaries, one has grown up with male privilege (however much they may have disliked it at the time) and the other sex to fear males, one can give birth and breastfeeding feed, the other not.
It’s not transphobic. It’s acknowledgment of obvious physical differences.

TransplantsArePlants · 26/06/2018 20:53

HotSauce

I agree.

HotSauceCommittee · 26/06/2018 20:55

Ah, good, I was replying to you, but I buggered it up. I also missed that you were playing Devil’s advocate. Total fail.

TransplantsArePlants · 26/06/2018 20:57

No worries

Ruffian · 26/06/2018 20:58

Sickening attack, sickening distortion of the truth.

seafret · 26/06/2018 21:06

Gees, so as well as all the other stuff, the wearing of jeans and hoodies is going back to being male clothing? We are identifying sex by what clothes people wear?! That is so massively, massively and dangerously regressive for women.

It proves that everything gender critical women have been saying; that you cannot give a naive inch on this just out of 'kindness' to a MH disorder, because the Orwellian precedents and repercussions lead to a dangerous place.

FlyingElbows · 26/06/2018 21:09

You just have to use your eyes to see the maleness in every sense. The problem with choosing skin tight or overtly "sexy" dresses is that it simply magnifies the male form. You don't look like Jessica Rabbit simply by borrowing her frock.

Their behaviour is vile.

The journalists could have written about the young man being kicked by 'four attackers' or 'assailants'. Calling these people 'women' on the basis of their say so is unprofessional IMO.

Branleuse · 26/06/2018 21:22

Its incredible that these violent men can just SAY they are women and that just makes it so.
Whether theyre Ian Huntley, or this gang of violent bastards.
Its actually now down on record that this was done by women ffs.
Any fool can see these are men, because they ARE.
Theres a reason we can tell a man a mile off in most cases - its a survival strategy and im getting really fucking fed up with this now. Its getting beyond a joke

bbcessex · 26/06/2018 21:23

I’m not in anyway condoning the attack and the extremity of it, but the video footage gives no context.

The man being attacked could be a totally innocent bystander or he could have started the violence by attacking one of the Lycra Men himself.

Branleuse · 26/06/2018 21:28

err he was stomped unconscious. They were stomping on his head. They kicked the fucking shit out of him. Thats not excusable. Not even in self defence. This was not a little slap

R0wantrees · 26/06/2018 21:31

Fairplay for Women's website has a huge amount of resources and legal explanations.

with regards the female prison estate:
(extracts)
"At the moment male prisoners who identify as transgender but still legally male are assessed on a case-by-case basis for relocation to women’s prisons...

"It is often suggested that this rule will be enough to protect women prisoners from the most dangerous male-born prisoners if law changes mean legal gender change becomes quick and easy. However, this will only block the transfer of the most exceptionally dangerous prisoners. We already know that this safety measure has failed. We know of two male-born prisoners (Jessica Winfield; child rapist) and (Paris Green; murderer) who were placed into women’s prisons and subsequently sexually assaulted the women there. In most cases, male-born prisoners will have to be transferred to women’s prisons once they obtain a female birth certificate. They cannot be deemed more of a safety risk simply because they were born male.

Is it right that women prisoners should be forced to live with male-born prisoners. Most women in prison have been victims of male domestic violence and sexual abuse..... continues

Sarahconnor1 · 26/06/2018 21:38

I wonder if the victim will be forced to call his attackers 'she' if it gets to court?

waterlego6064 · 26/06/2018 21:38

Yy Bran I don’t think ‘self-defence’ would wash when it is four against one, and the victim is already on the floor and helpless.

TornFromTheInside · 26/06/2018 21:42

They should be made to enter a men's prison dressed as women.
Good effing luck with THAT.

If they want the (almost) full female experience, let them feel it in there.

Sorry for bad language, but seeing that brings it out of me, and I'm male. They'v actuall

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/06/2018 21:44

Shocking violent attack on a man by four men dressed as women

How could you this possibly be reported as women being violent how far are we going to go with being untruthful

TornFromTheInside · 26/06/2018 21:44

*they've actually managed to illustrate the violence of far too many men, and at the same time, drag women's names into it as well.
I'd call them animals, but that would be bringing the reputation of animals down also.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/06/2018 21:50

I wonder if the victim will be forced to call his attackers 'she' if it gets to court?

Sarah I have no doubt that the victim will have to refer to them as she and then should they go to jail (doubt they will unless victim was seriously hurt) those in court shall have to pretend they don’t know they are really men and shall be going to a prison for men

Or will they pretend to be horrified that women are being sent to male only prison

Magpiesarehuge · 26/06/2018 22:01

I think they deliberately use “woman” to start debate on this nonsense as they are being forced to report like this.

Popchyk · 26/06/2018 22:04

I genuinely hope that man is okay. A really horrible attack.

And agree with everyone here calling the reporting of it out for the bullshit that it is.

Our eyes do not deceive us. How insulting to women to have to pretend that our eyes actually do deceive us. And that we should take the blame for that horrible violence.

The government is launching a consultation about proposals to allow anyone to self-identify as the opposite sex. This would then allow men (with no medical or surgical treatment whatsoever) to enter female spaces by claiming that they are women.

Oh, and I totally agree with Torn about it being sickening to men. The majority of men would be totally disgusted by that.
