Not in my name

I am shaking with anger and horror here... an utterly vicious and horrid attack on all levels.... the ferocity was shocking.

For it then to be attributed to women when they are clearly male is so very shocking on so very many levels......

This has gone too far..... How have the police ever agreed to count crimes committed by males as crimes committed by women, just on the say so of the male committing the crime?

I knew this was happening but I hadn't realised that anyone could "self-id" as female to the police.... How has this happened?

Bloody hell, i hope that man (on the floor) is ok those men (standing) were kicking the shit out of him. Stamping full force on his head Sad

The self id crap has to be fixed with the police, Police Scotland ask people if they identify as male or female and write in a wee box if the person doesnt id as either male or female Confused. They wont seek to confirm actual sex unless pertinent to the crime.

The sex of a person is however pertinent to reporting/statistics, who has to search them & who they might be left alone with...

R0wantrees · 26/06/2018 23:42

& also in the event of conviction, where they are held.

Recent Times article:
Prison governors say that there is a risk to women’s safety if transgender sex offenders held in men’s prisons are transferred to female jails."

"Andrea Albutt, president of the Prison Governors Association, told The Mail on Sunday: “I have seen women feeling very threatened by transgender prisoners’ presence . . . To put men who declare they are women into women’s prisons would be very damaging.”

"Police Scotland ask people if they identify as male or female and write in a wee box if the person doesnt id as either male or female".

So if some violent offender escapes from custody, how the hell do they describe the person to the public?

"Police Scotland are looking for a human being who may be male or female. Or neither. Or both. If anyone has any information about this human being then please call us on the hotline. We are waiting for your call".

Christ.

Ah come on now Popchyk, get woke, you know there are loads more genders/sexes* than that. You forgot agender, non binary, asexual, neutrois, two-spirit....

*delete as appropriate or on a whim

waterlego6064 · 26/06/2018 23:57

I don’t think so. I think they’re actually men in dresses.

The Stonewall definition of the trans ‘unbrella’ Includes men in dresses and a whole lot more besides. Crossdressers, AGPs, people who don’t rigidly adhere to gender stereotypes (so most people, in fact)...

You really can’t differentiate between a person with true dysphoria and a person who just presents themselves as a stereotype of a gender.

An erection can be a bit of clue though.

Popchyk

See the difficulties in reporting:

Comment from transcrimeuk.com/2017/10/31/lisa-hauxwell/
"As Hauxwell went on the run and did not attend court for sentencing, the case became the first to feature on BBC Crimewatch as both a man and woman as perpetrator. In an effort to presumably avoid misgendering Hauxwell (a convicted rapist, which, in the UK is a crime perpetrated only by people in possession of a penis), The Derby Telegraph‘s headline read ‘Have you seen missing woman spotted in Derbyshire dressed as a man?’ Similar obfuscation was evident in this policeman’s tweet when Hauxwell was on the run. Police, though, in publicity for the Crimewatch Most Wanted appeal stated that Hauxwell ‘may still be living as a man’ and referred to Hauxwell as ‘using the identity of “Lisa”‘ to evade arrest."

LizzieSiddal · 27/06/2018 00:21

I’m glad the press are reporting on this and showing the ludicrousy of the “rules”.

It will promote discussion and a few more people will learn the facts of the shit show that is occurring at the moment re Women’s and Girls rights.

Fairplay for Women

"We are a group of ordinary women who are concerned that in the rush to reform transgender laws that women’s voices will not be listened to.

Women get called transphobic for simply asking questions. Women are afraid to speak out and fear for their jobs and reputation if they do.

We are the voice of these women.

In a debate that is often clouded by emotion we aim to bring clarity and to enable a rational, evidence-led debate to be had. We are a reliable and authoritative information source on all the key topics in the debate. We are also the platform for women to speak from and we regularly publish new articles written by our supporters."

Is that you peak trans then Op?

I’m sure this particular news story will open the eyes of thousands.

Nope. That's a lady dick.
You are a TERF if you think differently.
And so am I.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2018 07:25

there is no excuse for violence like htat. it is not self defence, the victim is on the floor.

jumping and landing on the victim would do serious damage. I hope they are ok

endofthelinefinally · 27/06/2018 07:55

The victim could have a broken neck or serious brain damage. He could even die.
That video was horrific.
I really hope the attackers face justice.

Anniegetyourgun · 27/06/2018 08:24

This is why the ludicrously wide definition of "trans" nowadays is doing your old-school "genuine" transsexual no favours at all. They're in danger not only of being blamed for stuff like this but of being erased altogether, just as women are, by the situation where a bunch of nasty young thugs on an evening out can throw on dresses and kick the shit out of other people and be described variously as women or trans women. That the police and news media can't even tell you what they are is not defending that nice person you worked with who was assigned male but always felt they should have been female, or vice versa - I imagine most of us have known someone like that and they would be no more (or, for that matter, less) likely to hurt a fly than you would. These people in this news report are not those people who you know and sympathise with. Most of us, I'm sure, have no desire to see transsexuals erased, disrespected or in any way treated as "other" or weird; it's just a thing they are, which in itself hurts nobody. I wouldn't get in that person's face and tell them they aren't and can never be a woman, because that's unkind and unnecessary and I reckon is rightly covered by equality legislation. But when a bunch of violent men in dresses have to be called women when they are patently not (under any previous definition), because somebody completely different should not be insulted, then what is truth? What is a woman? What does a trans woman want to be when there is no difference between a woman and a, er, you know, woman?

Get with reality and find a balance between decency and anarchy, and do it quickly, for heaven's sake.

See Debbie Hayton's writings and speeches on WPUK website:
quillette.com/2018/03/30/plea-trans-activists-can-protect-trans-rights-without-denying-biology/

She and a number of transsexuals (Miranda Yardley, Rose of DAwn, Seven Hex, Kristina Harrison and others) have been speaking out and have received a great deal of villification and abuse.

shiklah · 27/06/2018 10:10

www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/truth-female-sex-offenders/

I had a thread about this when it was published.

A woman cannot rape another woman using the penis they were born with, and for the victim to have to hear that person described as a woman who 'may be dressed as a man' is gas lighting and extremely likely to cause PTSD.

I do not know how this is happening.

LeahJack · 27/06/2018 12:10

Fucking hell. This is all very 1984 isn’t it?

R0wantrees · 27/06/2018 12:11

I do not know how this is happening.

Janice Turner in The Times:
(extract)
"How do you debate when one side believes no debate can exist, that to ask questions is hate speech and must be silenced even with force? Yesterday the trans activist Tara Wolf, 26, was found guilty of assaulting the 60-year-old feminist Maria MacLachlan in Hyde Park before a meeting on the GRA. I witnessed it. A young, angry 6ft-plus hooded person punched her around the face. After the verdict police warned Ms MacLachlan’s supporters not to leave court because masked activists were waiting outside.

On Thursday the Mercure Hotel in Cardiff cancelled a longstanding booking for a meeting to be held that day by the group A Woman’s Place, on the grounds it “does not tolerate any form of racist, sexist or bigoted behaviour”. Bigoted? The speakers, including a feminist writer and a former Welsh Assembly member, were there to defend existing law. It is hardly a far-out position to uphold the 2010 Equalities Act which permits female-only exemptions for rape crisis and domestic violence refuges.

A Woman’s Place has six demands, including “respectful and evidence-based discussion” and for impact assessments on how proposed changes to the GRA, allowing natal men to self-ID as women, will affect data-gathering on crime, health and the gender pay gap. Pretty extreme stuff. This was the latest event to be cancelled after trans activists bombarded venues with intimidation and abuse. Glasgow, Lewisham, the Conway Hall . . . even Millwall FC, famed for their slogan “fear no foe”, withdrew a recent room booking after their switchboard was jammed and protests threatened. A Woman’s Place must ticket an event without revealing its location until a few hours before the start. Even then, as in Cardiff, it must secure a back-up venue. (A primary school whose governor activists are now hounding).

How does this happen? This is a complex debate but on the phone to meek receptionists and scared middle managers, trans activists keep it simple. They say: “These evil women are social conservatives who hate trans people. They’re like Tory bigots who brought in Section 28 and hated gays. They want to eradicate trans women; they incite violence against them. They deny their humanity and want them dead. Do you want your company to be part of that?”"

I love Janice T.

happydappy2 · 27/06/2018 12:38

I would urge everyone to write to their MP about this horrific incident & the blatant inaccuracies in the way it has been reported-it is offensive to women to watch that awful footage & read that the assailants were women. This is the reality of the times we live in-we have to turn things around for the safety & sanity of the next generation.

SuitedandBooted · 27/06/2018 13:15

A trans woman normally makes a hell of an effort (and can often pass as a woman)

Meet Alex, who is "Expanding the band-width of what it means to be a women".
Alex is in a relationship with a (real) woman, and hence Self-ID's as a "lesbian", because being a women is just a feeling, deep inside, apparently.

Four women viciously attack a defenceless man ...
peachescariad · 27/06/2018 14:10

There were 27 comments on the lbc.co.uk site up until a couple of hours ago....all comments (bar one, who said the press police to round up all the commentators and have them for hate speech...) were incredulous of the article referring to the violent thugs as women, when it was blatantly clear they were men in dresses. Alas, the supportive comments are now gone...wish I'd screen shot them...

Battleax · 27/06/2018 14:12

Wow. What the hell is going on at LBC?

Mrschainsawuk · 27/06/2018 14:12

They are definitely men the press twist stories too
