...starting at 12 o clock from Pall Mall.

(Piccadilly, Green Park and Charing Cross station are the nearest tubes.)

The usual self-interest or immature idealism on display from the remainers

Whereas brexiters were thinking maturely of the greater good....? Sure. Cool story.

surferjet · 23/06/2018 15:28

100,000 on the march apparently.
Waitrose must have been empty.

WerkSupp · 23/06/2018 15:34

What you’re doing is marching to overturn the will of the people.
How you can look anyone in the eye is beyond me.

It wasn't the will of the people, though, certainly not in Scotland.

siwel123 · 23/06/2018 15:34

Why would we leave the custom union?
Wouldn't that be a good thing to stay in?

MarcusCrassus · 23/06/2018 15:36

You must be thick if you still think comfortably off, well educated southerners are really going to be the ones to suffer most by Brexit. I mean, I can understand you thinking that 2 years ago, but not now.

Yep definitely thick. Might as well chuck in racist as well. I mean that's leavers in a nut shell right?

I don't think we'll educated southerners will suffer the most. As long as they suffer some I'll be happy. I'll be no worse off personally.

Good luck when the industries disappear: Remember that you wanted it, you voted it, you did it out of spite. I'll remind you too

Sure. But won't we all be living in mud huts with no electricity? How will you remind me?

Realises another bonus to the Brexit apocalypse is not having to listen to sanctimonious middle class twats telling me how good I've got it at the moment

SusanWalker · 23/06/2018 15:40

I have never heard of a recession that only affects the middle class.

I am remain and working class. I will be one of those most screwed by brexit. Anyone who thinks brexit is for the working class needs help. The Tories give no shits about me or anyone like me. The only reason they want brexit is to dodge the new tax evading laws and to make a quick buck out of the collapse of the economy.

WatermelonGlitter · 23/06/2018 15:44

That would be a valid comment IF we voted as separate constituents of the United Kingdom. We didn't. We voted as the entirety of the United Kingdom, and the result stands for the entirety of the United Kingdom. You don't get to change the game once the score is in just because you hate the result.

abilockhart · 23/06/2018 15:45

Leave the EU. No industry. Fewer jobs. More chance of affordable homes.

Indeed.

Brexiteers are determined that the UK should just become the new Albania. After all, housing is so much cheaper there.

In fact, with an average salary of around £300 per month, nearly everything is so much cheaper in Albania than in the UK. Albania doesn't seem to have many immigrants either which is something that really seems to appeal to Brexiteers.

tisrainingagain · 23/06/2018 15:47

What you’re doing is marching to overturn the will of the people.

Yawn. That’s not what is happening.

An advisory referendum that took place two years ago is not the will of the people. The phrase “will of the people”, does not belong in a civilised society. Democracy is enacted every day, and people are entitled to protest against or in favour of anything they like.

The fact that Brexit is a meaningless, damaging shambles is just an added bonus.

WerkSupp · 23/06/2018 15:52

You don't get to change the game once the score is in just because you hate the result.

Actually, you can. If it doesn't go well Scotland can well vote for its own independence. That's a possibility many Brexiters don't seem to consider.

54321go · 23/06/2018 15:52

@Awwlook
I wasn't expecting you to answer the question but maybe consider whether what I asked was in your mind when/if you did.
[Sure. But won't we all be living in mud huts with no electricity? How will you remind me?]
If it gets to this state then the armed police will be round every now and then to tell you as they try to stop the looters.

BBC reports a food bank in Eastbourne or somewhere has bee raided.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2018 15:59

At least you're honest, that Brexit is going to screw the country economically, most Brexiteers won't admit that yet. The thing where you're going wrong is the bizarre idea that the M/c are going to be screwed more than the W/c.

mozzybites · 23/06/2018 16:02

I see no concern for either NI or Scotland in what is said by Brexiteers. They are doing more to weaken the union than anything before them.

WatermelonGlitter · 23/06/2018 16:03

Actually, you can. If it doesn't go well Scotland can well vote for its own independence. That's a possibility many Brexiters don't seem to consider

Actually that democratic vote was lost too, and we were promised it would be a once in a generation vote. Yet another case of those who champion democracy being unwilling to abide by it when it doesn't go their way.

IslaBoots · 23/06/2018 16:06

Aww well.. I doubt it will make the news. What's the point in protesting about something that will happen? Hope your fitbit recorded your steps.. 🙄

JacquesHammer · 23/06/2018 16:08

I doubt it will make the news

Literally the top story on the news Grin

54321go · 23/06/2018 16:11

When Queen Victoria was on the throne Britain ruled nearly half the world.
Now Westminster can hardly hang on to Wales, Scotland and N Ireland.
Does this suggest a certain degree of incompetence perhaps?

mozzybites · 23/06/2018 16:13

watermelonglitter I heard a rumor that a democratic vote was held to join the ecc and following on from that various UK elections were held were people could vote on a range of issues including parties stances on the EU. I don't think democracy is a one vote in a lifetime situation in the UK.

kalapattar · 23/06/2018 16:13

I wish I could have been there.

I really hope they get the trade deal sorted out - it's so much head in the sand, things will be ok etc.

The Brexit Dividend is a joke - yes, we might be paying less to Europe but if our economy doesn't grow by as much as if we were staying in Europe - or if it's fucked up because the trade deals go wrong, then we will have less money to spend.

Of course, it will be our money. We will just have less money to spend than if we stayed.

Still - it will be a great British Brexit Hmm

thesnapandfartisinfallible · 23/06/2018 16:15

I voted Leave. I would vote Leave again. But I fully support a second vote on the final deal. A huge decision like this shouldn't be made lightly, on the back of a single referendum, in which there were no certainties. Now that we have more of the facts and a better idea of exactly how it will go down, of course we should vote on the final deal. It would be the sensible thing to do.

IveHadPraiseIveHadRidicule · 23/06/2018 16:16

DH accidently ran into it on his way to an appointment. He is 6ft tall and a londoner but found it really intimidating. He said some of the stuff they were shouting about what they'd like to do to Theresa May and Boris Johnson and their families was disgusting. Think it shocked him a bit - not the carnival atmosphere they are making it out to be on twitter.

2up2manydown · 23/06/2018 16:19

Not surprised to hear that. Lefties on the march often make a very nasty crowd.

54321go · 23/06/2018 16:19

Brexit is going to be EXPENSIVE, and lose jobs, 'get over it'.

kalapattar · 23/06/2018 16:20

Not surprised to hear that. Lefties on the march often make a very nasty crow

Hmm

I wonder if the internet is ever used to spread propaganda?

2up2manydown · 23/06/2018 16:21

A govt not committed to Brexit could put forward a very weak deal which they know won’t get past another referendum though.

The option of voting on a final draft of the deal would weaken their resolve to get a good deal in the first place.
