...starting at 12 o clock from Pall Mall.

(Piccadilly, Green Park and Charing Cross station are the nearest tubes.)

"Brexit means Brexit" might well be a bit shit but who believes it to be true.

Is it just leave voters?
Is it our politicians?
Is it the politicians of all or most other EU member states?

If it's the last one, there's no going back no matter how many protest marches are held.

It is not just our choice. Our national voice does not rule the EU and never did. What makes remainers think the rest of the EU would want us back at all after all the crap that has already happened, let alone on reasonable terms.

CaptainBrickbeard · 23/06/2018 13:21

The thing is, if Remain has won by such a narrow margin as Leave I would in no way expect the conversation to be over. I would expect Leavers to march as to protest and to campaign for another referendum. I don’t understand the vapidity of someone who thinks everyone now has to shut up and just watch Brexit happen, especially given the chaotic and criminal incompetence of the government attempting to implement it!

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 23/06/2018 13:27

OP I didn't realise this was going on, I'll be going down - thank you

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 23/06/2018 13:29

@CaptainBrickbeard Nigel Farage thought they had lost and was already talking about a second referendum.

I don't believe a word of this 'we would have accepted the decision' from the leave voters. It was too close and they would be doing exactly the same if it was the other way around.

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2018 13:29

I reckon we've got a full house in Brexit Bingo here. "Brexit means Brexit" (is that you Theresa?), "the will of the people" blah blah blah.

Why can't leavers accept that democracy is not static. The people are still fucking speaking - they are marching for the continuation of democracy and are entitled to do so. You claim to defend democracy so much that you're fearful of and angry about people exercising their democratic right? And you reckon the EU is a dictatorship.

Great coverage on BBC op, there with you all in spirit. Wave a placard for me and my family, young and old. Smile

lalalonglegs · 23/06/2018 13:32

Well, we'll still waiting to start Farted so you'd be most welcome Smile. I think the delay may be down to the sheer numbers, more people have turned up than expected.

TumbleTussocks · 23/06/2018 13:32

Brexit my arse!

I'm not going down without a fight. I just hope the Brexit Broadcasting Corporation and other "news" outlets give the march some coverage.

Good on you, OP, and others marching today 👏👏🏼

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2018 13:35

TumbleTussocks it's lead story on BBC News online.

surferjet · 23/06/2018 13:36

Laughing at remainers lecturing leavers on what real democracy is.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen a remainer say the old & the thick shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Remainers are no more a hive mind than Leavers Hmm

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2018 13:40

Surfer jet is always talking about the great future after brexit yet she’s never once been able to articulate what she means.

Honestly, it’s useless asking her for any information except for ‘we won, get over it’

time4chocolate · 23/06/2018 13:41

From the People's vote website:
"The People's Vote campaign seeks to ensure that the government's Brexit deal is put before the country in a public vote so that we can decide if a decision that will affect our lives for generations makes the country better or worse off."

I think having one peoples vote 2 years ago was sufficient and has caused enough division to last a lifetime, do you think they will chance it again?

In the scenario that it went to the people’s vote, what will the questions be? Are we going to go to the EU and say sorry the people aren’t happy with this can we have a different deal please? The people have already had their say as have the MPs so we need to just get on with it and stop the faffing around.

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2018 13:41

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen a remainer say the old & the thick shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Nope, not here. Both my elderly (relatively uneducated) parents are proud Remainers. Wish there were more of them though, yes.

tripYouOut · 23/06/2018 13:42

Well, I'll be scouring Gumtree for a nice cheap TV after the looting-luvvies and their 'protest'.

TumbleTussocks · 23/06/2018 13:42

Indeed it is, LittleLion 😊

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2018 13:43

@helmetbymidnight yes! Another one for Brexit Bingo "we won, get over it", like we're talking about a game of tiddly winks in the school playground.

TumbleTussocks · 23/06/2018 13:43

And the Mailonline are featuring it too!

LittleLionMansMummy · 23/06/2018 13:44

Wow, incredible sight @TumbleTussocks ! Grin

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/06/2018 13:49

Probably a dumb question but are people's mobiles' working at the march? Ds has gone off grid right in the middle of it.

lalalonglegs · 23/06/2018 13:49

Mine is Confused

MarcusCrassus · 23/06/2018 13:50

Surfer jet is always talking about the great future after brexit yet she’s never once been able to articulate what she means

I can't speak for surfer however I hope it involves a total collapse of the housing market, and the middle classes having a little taste of the economic problems that they were more than happy for the working classes to suffer under the big European dream.

I appreciate it's a scary possibility there's not a constant stream of young eastern European women to palm your children off to for a pittance, you may have to pay more for a plumber and little Tobias's dream of studying in Paris are down the shitter but hey. Onwards and upwards Wink

specialsubject · 23/06/2018 13:53

pleae protest, an important freedom. Although what a waste of a sunny day going to a city.

please.also teach your kiids the difference between figures and extrapolation. no one knows the age split on the vote, or any split except location. fake news fuels hate.

Helmetbymidnight · 23/06/2018 13:53

Yeah you probably can’t speak for surfer jet coz I remember, memorably, when she said: that she and all of the leavers she knew were well educated, comfortably off, southerners.

Grin
ForalltheSaints · 23/06/2018 13:56

I wish I had the confidence to think that if there was a second referendum the UK would opt to Remain. I doubt it as I think some would vote Leave on the grounds of objecting to being asked again.

I think we should concentrate on arguing to keep the customs union.

surferjet · 23/06/2018 13:56

Crikey Helmetbymidnight - not sure if I’m flattered or worried that you’re hanging on my every word.
