...starting at 12 o clock from Pall Mall.

(Piccadilly, Green Park and Charing Cross station are the nearest tubes.)

Can't make it, too far and not able to walk very well, but have a good day, to those who go!

siwel123 · 23/06/2018 11:20

As long as it's peaceful and respectable then I don't see the problem with the march.
People don't want to overturn and stop brexit Right now, we want a right to have a vote on whether the brexit the government has decided is good enough or whether it will severely damage the country and therefore should be abandoned.

UtterlyDesperate · 23/06/2018 12:07

Ahhh, the Soros march: hilarious that people talk about Leave manipulating the vote Hmm

At least you've got a nice day for it, op - and don't forget to remind your fellow marchers about taking their rubbish home or putting it in the bin. Enjoy yourselves Smile

JacquesHammer · 23/06/2018 12:12

What you’re doing is marching to overturn the will of the people.
How you can look anyone in the eye is beyond me

Every person who voted would have a chance to vote on a final deal. When people actually have a clue what Brexit is.

If people who voted to leave are so concerned that this might result in a final vote for remain, surely that means the vote wasn’t resounding in any way...

RedSkyAtNight · 23/06/2018 12:39

DH has gone with DS who is14. We both agree with the democratic process - so agree that we should leave the EU, however the way the "leaving agreement" has been made is a shambles - what is currently being proposed is not what was discussed during the referendum and potentially not what lots of Leave voters have in mind. So we agree with the notion of a People's vote.

DS was also very keen to go - he has been very scathing about "old people deciding his future". he also campaigned to allow those who were 11+ to vote in the referendum - which obviously didn't happen.

bellinisurge · 23/06/2018 12:44

This march will make no difference- the stupidity of the vote has messed us all up. But make a noise about it by all means.

Pointless - brexiteans brexit

Usual vacuos drivel spouted.

2up2manydown · 23/06/2018 12:48

Pathetic. Block up central London for the day, piss everyone off and for what? To protest against the outcome of a democratic vote.

Accept it.

Northernparent68 · 23/06/2018 12:49

Protesting against a democratic decision sets a dangerous precedent, if labour win the next election should the tories protest that decision and demand a second election ?

SilverySurfer · 23/06/2018 12:52

Pointless. Pitiful. Pathetic.

ilovesooty · 23/06/2018 12:52

I had a coach ticket to travel but I have since sustained a foot injury that makes marching impossible. I let someone else have my ticket - coaches from my area were sold out. Gutted I can't go.

bellinisurge · 23/06/2018 12:53

Just over a third of the electorate voted Leave, just under a third voted Remain, the rest couldn't be arsed.
People are entitled to march against it if they want. Last time I checked, this wasn't NKorea. .
I personally think it's a waste of time but I defend their right to do it.

Mrskeats · 23/06/2018 12:54

brexit means brexit
The mantra of the dim. I am sure airbus workers are thinking about their futures today. I live near the plant in an area that voted to leave. Reality is hitting home.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/06/2018 12:56

When we vote a government in we don’t subsequently get a vote on every way they try to govern, I don’t see how brexit is any different.
In addition it’s only remainers who want a vote on the final decision it seems. Perhaps just those that voted brexit should further vote on the final deal (just to clarify to all remainers about what they voted for).

Mrskeats · 23/06/2018 12:56

Lying to people was never democratic northern
There is no brexit bonus
Higher taxation is the only way the nhs is getting any extra money.

JacquesHammer · 23/06/2018 12:56

Protesting against a democratic decision sets a dangerous precedent, if labour win the next election should the tories protest that decision and demand a second election?

Not comparable situations.

In any event protest has always been a tenet of democracy.

Mrskeats · 23/06/2018 12:57

Clearly many people on here don’t understand the concept of democracy on here.

bellinisurge · 23/06/2018 12:57

Marching against a majority decision is called democracy. Live with it.

lalalonglegs · 23/06/2018 12:58

I'm here waiting to get going. It feels much better attended than the other marches that I've been on - Green Park station was rammed, only letting people out, no entry. The marchers are tailing all the way back to Piccadilly which isn't officially part of the route.

bellinisurge · 23/06/2018 12:59

Leave supporters can organise their own march. If they can agree on what it means. Let's see how many show up.

RedSkyAtNight · 23/06/2018 13:02

OP - I think you chose a bad title.

THIS IS NOT A VOTE AGAINST BREXIT.

(sorry for shouting, but it seems like many posters have just read the title and not actually bothered to find out what the march is about)

From the People's vote website:
"The People's Vote campaign seeks to ensure that the government's Brexit deal is put before the country in a public vote so that we can decide if a decision that will affect our lives for generations makes the country better or worse off."

Surely that's relevant to everyone - whether you voted Leave or Remain??

DaphneduM · 23/06/2018 13:02

Goodness, all these dim sayings - 'the will of the people', 'brexit means brexit'. I feel I want to explode every time I hear or see this (quite often in the Daily Telegraph comments column!!!). It will be a total shambles, judging by how little the Government have achieved so far, and no evidence of any remotely professional or coherent plan. Well done to those people marching, it must feel better to take action. I'm worried for my children's jobs - we all voted for remain, because we felt that our future is more secure within the EU and being party to the free trading conditions. The economy is about to go off a cliff, taking thousands of jobs with it.

LegoBitcho · 23/06/2018 13:03

Keep us updated lala! Hope it goes well Smile

Scoopofchaff · 23/06/2018 13:10

Good God. Are people really arguing on here that peaceful protest is undemocratic?

Publicly standing up against something you genuinely believe is going to cause profound harm to a country you love is neither pathetic , pitiful or pointless.

Shame on those saying so.

MarcusCrassus · 23/06/2018 13:15

I voted leave (out of spite but also other reasons) and I don't see a problem with the march. Peaceful protest is part and parcel of living in a democracy. It won't change fuck all mind.
