Can you escape (game/test)

AIBU to try this 'game'? - I think it could be fun.

Locked upstairs in a house, you need to escape.

Rules, only one instruction per person until the correct action has been identified.

I've already 'written' the way to escape - if it works then I will write a fuller version to play a different evening.

For example: (player/you) Open Window:

(me) There are no windows.

Tell us what you can see

Make a bonfire using the table so you have a source of light.

We know there are no windows. Are there the full complement of walls?

but screaming said "Take the table from the other room and use it to stand on to feel if there's a loft hatch in the ceiling of the new room." hmm

If so - I apologise and missed the bit about standing on the table! (wasn't expecting so many responses this quickly)!

well this takes me back to my very early days of computer games in the 80s/early 90s. In fact I'd say this is starting to sounds like a cross between a text based computer game and a B grade horror movie.

You're going to need to pick your audience with this OP, I suspect many people will not have the patience to deal with the degree of precision this may require.

Argh don’t light a match in a dark loft - there will be a demonic face right in front of you when you do ... go back to the first room with your water lock yourself in, sip your water slowly and wait to be rescued

Can I feel around for a lamp or candle?

This reminds me of The Hobbit on a ZXSpectrum. As I was reminded on MN if you don't do anything for a while the screen scrolls 'Time passes'

PerspicaciaTick I remember that Hobbit game! I was very young and hadn't read the book. I somehow convinced myself that Gandalf was secretly a villain and kept trying to attack him. Not a smart move.

If there's nothing in the previous rooms then we've either got to go through the loft or above the loft onto the roof.

Ok.

Light a match and look around for exit.

Set a table leg on fire and use the light to search the original room and the second room

Reach up to the loft rafters to the insulation and slates and have a good feel around.

I would so not do this 🕷
