Can you escape (game/test)

AIBU to try this 'game'? - I think it could be fun.

Locked upstairs in a house, you need to escape.

Rules, only one instruction per person until the correct action has been identified.

I've already 'written' the way to escape - if it works then I will write a fuller version to play a different evening.

For example: (player/you) Open Window:

(me) There are no windows.

Tell us what you can see

182yellowsnails · 19/06/2018 22:44

Make a bonfire using the table so you have a source of light.

doctorcuntybollocks · 19/06/2018 22:44

We know there are no windows. Are there the full complement of walls?

Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:44

but screaming said "Take the table from the other room and use it to stand on to feel if there's a loft hatch in the ceiling of the new room." hmm

If so - I apologise and missed the bit about standing on the table! (wasn't expecting so many responses this quickly)!

well this takes me back to my very early days of computer games in the 80s/early 90s. In fact I'd say this is starting to sounds like a cross between a text based computer game and a B grade horror movie.

You're going to need to pick your audience with this OP, I suspect many people will not have the patience to deal with the degree of precision this may require.

OnlyBaBaBiss · 19/06/2018 22:45

Argh don’t light a match in a dark loft - there will be a demonic face right in front of you when you do ... go back to the first room with your water lock yourself in, sip your water slowly and wait to be rescued

Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:45

You strike one match, there is nothing of interest to see

OP posts:
SneakyGremlins · 19/06/2018 22:46

I wouldn't use matches yet.

Can I feel around for a lamp or candle?

elephantoverthehill · 19/06/2018 22:46

This reminds me of The Hobbit on a ZXSpectrum. As I was reminded on MN if you don't do anything for a while the screen scrolls 'Time passes'

AppleTree0915 · 19/06/2018 22:46

Are we sure the bottle of water is actually water?

cakedup · 19/06/2018 22:46

Well at least sniff the match you just lit because it smells nice

cakedup · 19/06/2018 22:47

Put the matches in your pocket

Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:47

RailReplacementBusService - I agree - although there appears to be some uptake so I might try again (maybe not on AIBU though!)

SneakyGremlins · 19/06/2018 22:48

Apple it's actually vodka. Pour over self and light match. Boom! Game over Grin

MaterialReality · 19/06/2018 22:48

Scream until I am ho(a)rse. Gallop away.

PerspicaciaTick I remember that Hobbit game! I was very young and hadn't read the book. I somehow convinced myself that Gandalf was secretly a villain and kept trying to attack him. Not a smart move.

PlateOfBiscuits · 19/06/2018 22:49

Have you checked your pockets yet?

Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:49

You taste the water. it tastes like water.

You smell the burnt match, it smells nice.

OP posts:
Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:50

Your pockets are empty

OP posts:
AppleTree0915 · 19/06/2018 22:50

Or just chug the vodka to forget you’re locked in a room with a potential murderer/creeper Grin

OnlyBaBaBiss · 19/06/2018 22:50

Ok there’s got to be something in the loft? Have you smashed through to the floor below yet?

SneakyGremlins · 19/06/2018 22:51

Right OP so to recap - two matches left, empty looking loft, bottle of water?

If there's nothing in the previous rooms then we've either got to go through the loft or above the loft onto the roof.

elephantscanring · 19/06/2018 22:51

Oh, op! Earlier you said *You return to the first room and drag the table through to the dark room

you cant reach the ceiling to check for a loft hatch*

So I assumed you couldn’t reach the ceiling with the table...

Ok.

Light a match and look around for exit.

182yellowsnails · 19/06/2018 22:51

Set a table leg on fire and use the light to search the original room and the second room

TwentySmackeroos · 19/06/2018 22:52

Reach up to the loft rafters to the insulation and slates and have a good feel around.

I would so not do this 🕷

Gamesmaster · 19/06/2018 22:52

There is nothing of interest in the loft.
