Looking at pictures of Meghan in a floral dress that she wore at a wedding yesterday, I can't help but believe that maybe it's high time she got herself a better stylist.
The frock is just hideous on such a stunning woman.Shock

Yes. But we got married in a registry office. And I was wearing perfectly 'ordinary' clothes Wink

OP no need to apologise. Some of the more aggressive and rude posters should be apologising to you.

It's a light hearted thread about dresses, I see no problem with the op posting this personally. Dress does look too big to me, it's a shame as Meghan has a stunning figure and other than sizing dress isn't bad.

What do you mean “I don’t look at fat people”? Confused

somebody suggested I thought she was thin because I spend too much time looking at fat people.

Meghan is so pretty and has a fantastic figure - that dress did nothing for her.
Totally swamped her.
I can't believe she looked in the mirror and thought it looked good on her.
It was** FAR too big on her.
Didn't Harry notice / comment ?
I know my DH would have.
He would have said kindly 'Eloise do you not think it's a wee bit big for you pet. You must have lost a bit of weight since you bought it.'

I think Meghan has her own style which is very much casual chic, and she does it brilliantly.

But that dress was very much 'bohemian, English country garden' style and she didn't pull it off. Likewise I don't think she really nailed the Audrey Hepburn elegance she was going for with her wedding dress.
Yet her choice of dress for the evening of her wedding suited her perfectly. Again, it was that kind of American chic that she really has a flair for.

Unfortunately she will probably keep coming under pressure to dress in a way that's considered more suitable for a member of the royal family, but that isn't her own natural style.

I think Kate does traditional elegance better. It's a look she can pull off, whereas Meghan's style probably wouldn't suit her at all.

User148 I think you are spot on there. She appears to be trying to fit the 'mode'. When she first appeared on her tours with Harry she was very down to earth and edgy. Jeans, trouser suits, tight-free legs. She got a bit of back lash for her modern look and has clearly tried to fit the supposed Royal look.

I dont think touring in company with the very proper protocol fashion conscious Queen has helped any.

I think its a shame. The poor girl has given up enough of herself as it is already.

I think something similar happened with Sarah Ferguson. She looked fine in the kind of sloany clothes that she wore before she got married. But when she started trying to dress in the haut couture clothes that Diana looked good in, she just couldn't pull it off.

Grin Yes poor girl is a tad bit dramatic and completely inaccurate.

AntiqueSinger · 19/06/2018 13:17

Yes Sarah was always compared side by side with Diana in the fashion pages and ridiculed mercilessly.

I am now convinced that there's some kind of sabotage going on.

It's unbelievable. The same colours, the shapeless clothes (who wears a shirt (flared) dress with a full hat) at such an event?

Such a stunning woman- something is not right! And whoever says she looks lovely in those dresses? Please!

eloisesparkle · 19/06/2018 18:42

Dumela I absolutely agree.
Very odd choice of dress.
Although the one she wore at the wedding last week was dire on her.
She is so pretty with an amazing smile.
Personally I wish Harry would shave. I hate beards and the beard rash must be terrible for her. Grin

if its sabotage then Bea and Eug must be in on it too.

eloisesparkle beard - ohhhhhh no no. Just the thought of it makes my skin itch.

It's not really the kind of dress you'd wear if you were trying to blend in and not upstage the bride. It's actually the kind of dress that would really stand out, so I doubt that's the reason she wore it.

Blending in would be wearing something like the outfit Kate wore to Harry and Meghan's wedding.

The Ascot dress is perfect - or would be on a much less formal occasion. As pp have said, the formal headwear looks wrong too because you would not wear a hat thing like that with what is basically a shirt dress.

The dress she wore at the Spencer wedding was delightful. Obviously it was meant to look flowy. She knows her own size for goodness’ sake! I loved her in that.

I think she's a stunningly beautiful woman.

While her 'Suits' and personal 'before Harry' dress style is more to my taste, I think she looks equally as good in the more recent dresses she's worn, it's just different to what we're used to seeing her in.

I thought her wedding dress was beautiful and suited her perfectly and her evening dress looked incredible.

I like the dress she wore to the races and the one she wore to the wedding; both of which fitted her as you can see the shoulder line in place.

The aesthetic at the moment is very romantic so ruffled, long, flowing and floral, which is not to my taste but I think the dresses were beautiful and she looked wonderful. I wish I looked half as good!

To those saying she's skinny she's really not, she's fit, slim and healthy.
