to be annoyed at eating sausages for lunch

Slartybartfast · 17/06/2018 11:34

i buy sausages and divide them into 4, since our dc are older and in and out and not sure if they will be home.
so i defrost for whoever is home for an Evening Meal

DH announces, he will have a sausage sandwich for lunch, or a couple of sausages for breakfast, like a bloody king!
AIBU to attempt to restrict this reckless behaviour?

OP posts:
Seeline · 17/06/2018 11:41

Just don't give him any dinner and tell him he has already eaten it.

x2boys · 17/06/2018 11:42

myself and ds1 have had a sausage sandwich for breakfast , i also made some for ds2 but he didnt eat them so the dog ate them instead 😏

ProudThrilledHappy · 17/06/2018 11:42

I think Op means she buys a pack of 8 and divides into twos for the freezer (4 portions)

If Dh has two then next time they have a sausage dinner, someone will be left out.

Life is too short to ration sausages. Buy a big frozen multipack and save yourself ten minutes of faffing.

Brandnewshit · 17/06/2018 11:42

Yeah totally bu, a sausage sarnie on fathers day.
Hope hes allowed more than a 1/4 of a sausage though

So did you get 6 sausages out to defrost for three of you and he wants to eat 4 of them? Or are they all still in the freezer? Is money really tight? Are you the sole earner and his mum?

JennyHolzersGhost · 17/06/2018 11:45

I don’t understand this thread.

ScrubTheDecks · 17/06/2018 11:45

LOL at KurriKurri.

“Sausages are not an evening meal”
Are you actual royalty? Shock

CoughLaughFart · 17/06/2018 11:46

‘Man eats sausages shocker’.

What the fuck was he meant to do with them? Turn them into a conceptual art installation?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 17/06/2018 11:47

Aren't sausages for breakfast?

You could buy more sausages: so there's more than just the exact amount that you need...

But to be honest; if your kids aren't polite enough to let you know when they'll need feeding and when they won't, it's their own lookout if there's not enough of whatever you were serving and they have to have something else.

ScrubTheDecks · 17/06/2018 11:47

OP, could you freeze them in packs of 2?

In case an emergency like this ever strikes in future?

And: is he allowed mustard?

Nikephorus · 17/06/2018 11:48

Please thank your DH for giving me the idea of a sausage sarnie for lunch today Grin

onalongsabbatical · 17/06/2018 11:49

I had two sausages on toast for breakfast. I cooked three but thought I'd hold out. Then I had the third one cold a couple of hours later with mango chutney. As a SNACK.
Clearly the sausage rulz have passed me by...

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 17/06/2018 11:49

Dd's made their df a cooked breakfast, unbeknown to me, used sausages dated 4th June!
Oops!!

DiplomaticDecorum · 17/06/2018 11:50

Freeze them individually and let the flexible hysterical sausage eating frenzy begin.

Badcat666 · 17/06/2018 11:51

Its Sunday, its the law to have a sausage sarnie for breakfast/ lunch.

So you have 2 sausages each? Dear god MrBC can get through a pack of 8 in one go if I let him!

Its Fathers day, let the poor man have a bloody sausage sarnie for lunch.

Can't you defrost something else for dinner or does your freezer has a time lock on it to only permit one entry every 24 hours :D

Lsnowe · 17/06/2018 11:51

This should have been on the first world problems thread!

Yes YABU

FASH84 · 17/06/2018 11:54

If I gave DH two sausages for dinner he'd wonder where the rest of his meal was. Three or four is his usual, I don't eat sausages so he can have at them for all I care. (Also before I get questions about why he isn't cooking his own sausages, he does and can but for dinner it would never be two). I've clearly missed the sausage rules, I'll let him know he's being unreasonable.

NutElla5x · 17/06/2018 11:59

God it's father's day and your begrudging your old man a few measly sausages.Let him have them and cook him a nice steak or take him out for dinner.

FirstOfMyName · 17/06/2018 12:02

Scrub obviously Wink

My point (in the house) is that they have to be toad in the hole with mash & gravy. Breakfast they are with full fry up. Lunch time served in toasted sandwiches with mustard. Yum. I want that now but no sausages Sad

RJnomore1 · 17/06/2018 12:03

The answer to this hinges on just how tight your food budget is

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/06/2018 12:03

Let him have sausage Grin

WindDoesNotBreakTheBendyTree · 17/06/2018 12:04

only YABU if you were planning to cook them for dinner tonight and have nothing else in

Bearhunter09 · 17/06/2018 12:04

Fantastic now I know what we’re having for lunch

Shockers · 17/06/2018 12:05

Think of the 🐷 🐽 🐷 s- all this wanton sausage scoffing! Tell him to have toast and marmite instead.
