To be excited about the World Cup starting!

I know FIFA and Russia and whoever is involved is horrible in some way... But it's the actual World Cup. Mexico v South Korea suddenly becomes hugely important to my life! England have a likeable squad and manager. Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar. Spain sacking their manager yesterday.

It's so exciting isn't it!

France looked great didn't they? And so young...a bit like another team I found mention. I thought Messi was a bit poor at the end, ignoring players greeting him. I expect more from him somehow and I've been disappointed with him this WC.

Portugal have looked very far from invincible so far I think and so far they don't look convincing at all against Uruguay

Would have made it interesting if one of those extra time shots had gone in. Only caught the last 10 minutes so can't judge the performance of the 2 teams.

Today's earlier game was brilliant, some blinding goals and the best team won.

Great games - especially the France v Argentina one. Shame the TV coverage didn't show Maradona crying. We'll be in France for the match v Uruguay which should be fun!

Well based on yesterday, world’s best forward is Edinson Cavani.

He is very humble. He obviously has to put up with a lot of nonsense from Neymar at PSG.

I hope he hasn’t picked up a bad injury.

It was nice to see Ronaldo help him.

Quite a good world cup so far. No trouble with fans, generally entertaining games, and a wide-open competition.
Also, there's not been any of those sweltering heat games where both teams are desperately trying to conserve energy.

If they could just get rid of the play-acting and calling for cards / VAR, it would be marvellous.

Can't see Spain failing to beat Russia.... And expect Croatia to easily win too.
