I know FIFA and Russia and whoever is involved is horrible in some way... But it's the actual World Cup. Mexico v South Korea suddenly becomes hugely important to my life! England have a likeable squad and manager. Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar. Spain sacking their manager yesterday.

It's a rare day I support France but I am so glad they won. They were the better side and cleaner. Plus, I'm happy to see Maradonna disappointed.

I cant say Argentina played shit, because they didnt. France just had the edge needed to win the game.

Better team won

Argentina far to focused on Messi. He's a wonderful player, but detracts from the team.

France looked decent, but I think Argentina helped them look that way.

That was a good performance- France have a good attack and a strong defence. Argentina lacked a defence and a midfield (until Messi dropped deep to create).

I do think they might regret leaving Rabiot out of the squad in later stages, when they’re up against more complete teams than Argentina. A good midfield can make all the difference.
