... another day of Kate and William away from their tiny baby for a substantial amount of time.

I just don't understand it, when they were this small I couldn't bear to be apart from them.

Now getting my hard hat 👩‍🚒👷‍♀️😬

I know what you mean. Yesterday, she had no choice. Today just seems strange that he wasn't there.

Wolfiefan · 10/06/2018 20:54

You couldn't bear it. Doesn't mean other people can't.
Horses for courses.

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 10/06/2018 20:54

Then I suppose you're lucky that you didn't have to. It's their job to do these things. And it's the jobs of many thousands of parents to go to work and leave their precious babies who they also can't bear to be apart from because they have to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads.

Livingsymbol · 10/06/2018 20:55

That Meghan & her loving looks she keeps giving out annoying me.

She’s an actor, should see the looks she gave out on queue Blush

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 10/06/2018 20:55

Were they away from him for the whole day?

I’m sure he was very happy and well cared for. I had to leave my weeks old baby for 48 hours and it was unavoidable. Hate to think people would’ve been judging me..

DorothyL · 10/06/2018 20:55

Kate didn't have to go to the polo, or she could have brought him along?

OP posts:
ColoursOfRain · 10/06/2018 20:56

But they don't have to. Today was clearly a choice... I never understand why people who can leave their baby at the drop of a hat bother to have them at all.

AlonsoTigerHeart · 10/06/2018 20:56

God forbid a woman cuts the umbilical cord before the child's 18th birthday.

DorothyL · 10/06/2018 20:56

Jumping from 6 weeks to 18 years is quite a stretch

She probs needs fucking break

Pengggwn · 10/06/2018 20:57

"She"
"she"
"she"

Why does William get less stick for this?

Inkanta · 10/06/2018 20:57

I wonder if Kate is okay with it. Maybe not. I don't know.

kalapattar · 10/06/2018 20:57

It's their job to do these things

What were they doing today?

kalapattar · 10/06/2018 20:58

Kate didn't have to go to the polo, or she could have brought him along

Did William need to go to the polo?

DorothyL · 10/06/2018 20:58

I did mention both of them in the op

NewYearNewMe18 · 10/06/2018 20:58

Like the royals don't have grand parents or friends and aren't allowed to spend any time with their existing children and take them out for the day? They are beyond contempt, taking their kids out instead of locking them in the house, and that Kate, how very dare she come out, all groomed, not looking like a sleep deranged harridan, in baggy pants and leaky boobs?

DorothyL · 10/06/2018 20:59

Yes to be fair he probably didn't have to Go either

But if they wanted to why didn't they bring him?

OP posts:
Sprinklesinmyelbow · 10/06/2018 20:59

How do you know the baby wasn’t there? They could’ve been nearby with a nanny. They have 2 other children to entertain too. I don’t see the big deal.

ColoursOfRain · 10/06/2018 20:59

Well, William was on the team.... maybe he could have got out of it, maybe he had to go.

blackbunny · 10/06/2018 20:59

I'd imagine it's very hard to leave their baby but...they have a way of life to lead as royals, I think the more they can take off the Queen's shoulders the better, they're young and healthy, she is 92 and surely has earned the right to take things easy.
And there must be many ordinary parents who have to return to work as soon as possible after the birth because they need the money.

NewYearNewMe18 · 10/06/2018 21:00

Did William need to go to the polo?

Seeing as it was a charity appearance, I dare say he could have let them down or just withdraw from the two charities that benefitted.

Pengggwn · 10/06/2018 21:00

maybe he had to go.

He is the future King of the United Kingdom. If he wants someone else to play a polo match for him, I'm sure he isn't going to be shy of takers Hmm

Lazypuppy · 10/06/2018 21:01

I love my LO, doesn't mean I need to be attached to her 24/7! Same for my partner. They spent a day away from baby, don't see the issue really?

Sparklesocks · 10/06/2018 21:01

I do think it’s a bit damned if they do damned if they don’t.

If they missed appearances to spend time with their DC they’d probably be criticised for not doing their job/fulfilling their responsibilities as well.

As a royal you are obligated to appear at these things and then you get scrutiny from the media and members of the public. You couldn’t pay me to do it.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 10/06/2018 21:01

Maybe it was a way to relax with the older two and have some time with them. If I have a third I’d love to be able to do that. Babies can be hard for older children.
