Petrol station incident - Who was BU??

BasilFaulty · 06/06/2018 17:04

So just got home from work and on my way back had to stop for petrol.

I pull up at the petrol station, there's two cars at the pumps I want to be at so I wait for one of them to go.

The first one goes (ie the one further away from me) and I drive around the second car that was still there and the blokes still pumping.

I pull in front of his car to the pump and reverse a bit to get it level.

Plenty of room for him to get out still, I'd pretty much just replaced the car that had just left.

So I start fuelling my car, he's now got in his car and pulls up alongside me and goes 'Patience is a virtue you know you BINT'

To which I replied 'Oh, go away' Blush

He looked so shocked!! He couldn't believe I'd answered him back. He obviously thought about saying more but then just slunk off and as he was pulling out he blared his horn at me Smile

When you're waiting for a pump to become free at petrol station do you wait for the pump nearest to you to become free or do you pull in front of necessary??

Surely if everyone always waited if would cause unnecessary queues?

WIBU??

Yanbu. "Patience is a virtue" how ironic of him to say HmmGrin

manicmij · 07/06/2018 21:07

Definitely the idiot BU. He must live in another world if he thinks folk should wait until all the vehicles have left the pumps before someone moves forward. Twat.

Purplealienpuke · 07/06/2018 21:11

I don't drive but I'd have done exactly what you did. One exception... I'd have unleashed every swear word I know at him. Apparently that's quite few 😉

BettyG66 · 07/06/2018 22:10

Of course you were right to pull in front of him. If you'd waited you would no doubt have had someone tooting you for not doing so! I bet he wouldn't have said anything had a man done so cos he only has the balls to challenge women, dick head!

TamzinGrey · 07/06/2018 22:20

YANBU I thought that it was pump etiquette to drive round to the front one if it became free first. If I was stuck in a queue behind someone who didn't do as you did I'd be seriously annoyed. The man was an idiot.

user1472151176 · 07/06/2018 22:45

I would wait if they were in paying (mainly for my ease of manoeuvring) but as he was still pumping - absolutely I would go around in front of him.

Sissyjd · 07/06/2018 23:30

Thehop
Cock nostril!!! Lurve it!!! Lmao

JanKind · 08/06/2018 00:20

He wouldn’t have said it to another guy. He’s an idiot

Taytotots · 08/06/2018 00:29

Of course YANBU. He's a very rude idiot. I like user1234's suggestion of offering to drive his car round for him if he can't manage it! Grin.

patq1967 · 08/06/2018 01:37

he got round your car ,think you call people like this a cock

ThistleAmore · 08/06/2018 02:02

Ah god, totes YANBU, and also I've been waiting for ages to tell this story, so here goes...

Some prick did something very similar to me a few weeks ago, but then made the mistake of getting out of his car and going into the garage. Little did he know that I had parked up and was waiting for him...

I'm bigger and taller than average - a fact I don't think he had quite realised - and I was also armed with the latest in digitech (thanks, Samsung S9) - so when he strolled back to his car, he wasn't ready for me following him, asking why he had called me a stupid c*nt and tried to drive his car into me.

Ordinarily, I don't agree with people using their physicality to impose others, but in this case, he had started it, so fair fucks.

I still chuckle at the footage of the little weasel practically throwing himself into his car, while squealing 'it was a joke! Just a joke!'

Yeah, fucking hilarious after I reported him to the police and they turned up on his doorstep to have a word about 'harassment', I shouldn't bet. I really hope his wife and children found it funny, too.

ThistleAmore · 08/06/2018 02:03

Re: Samsung S9. The quality of the video footage it takes is genuinely SUBLIME. If in doubt, film stuff.

Italiangreyhound · 08/06/2018 02:09

He is an arse for complaining and a ludicrous twat for calling you a bint!

'Bint' appears to be an insult word that doesn't really mean anything, so he is shite!

mathanxiety · 08/06/2018 02:33

Patience is a virtue but so also is not calling women names and lecturing them.

YANBU, and well done.

Smudge100 · 08/06/2018 18:24

Obviously you would do exactly what you did do. Why would you keep other customers waiting? The guy’s a complete plank. Think no more on it, other than to be glad he’s not your neighbour/colleague/BIL and you can just drive away and forget him.

Amiable · 09/06/2018 13:06

Petrol Station’s are designed so there is space to do exactly what you did.

He was being an unreasonable twunt.

Icanttakemuchmore · 09/06/2018 20:18

Well he didn't show any patience did he! He went around you!
