Petrol station incident - Who was BU??

BasilFaulty · 06/06/2018 17:04

So just got home from work and on my way back had to stop for petrol.

I pull up at the petrol station, there's two cars at the pumps I want to be at so I wait for one of them to go.

The first one goes (ie the one further away from me) and I drive around the second car that was still there and the blokes still pumping.

I pull in front of his car to the pump and reverse a bit to get it level.

Plenty of room for him to get out still, I'd pretty much just replaced the car that had just left.

So I start fuelling my car, he's now got in his car and pulls up alongside me and goes 'Patience is a virtue you know you BINT'

To which I replied 'Oh, go away' Blush

He looked so shocked!! He couldn't believe I'd answered him back. He obviously thought about saying more but then just slunk off and as he was pulling out he blared his horn at me Smile

When you're waiting for a pump to become free at petrol station do you wait for the pump nearest to you to become free or do you pull in front of necessary??

Surely if everyone always waited if would cause unnecessary queues?

WIBU??

He obviously had enough room if he got past. What a rude twat!

Icanttakemuchmore · 07/06/2018 17:45

How dare he cf! I'd have given him more of a mouthful back that's for sure!

Downtroddenandrough · 07/06/2018 17:48

Cock nostril. Love it. Using it.

ThisCannotBe · 07/06/2018 17:50

Well if he pulled alongside you there was obviously ample room. What a total cock head.

ferrier · 07/06/2018 17:51

Perhaps 'How did you pass your driving test when you're incapable of manoeuvring it?'

imnottoofussed · 07/06/2018 17:56

We got told off the other week at Morrison's petrol station for taking the hose round to the other side of the car. Shop attendant said if it damages the hose we would have to pay. So apparently you are meant to go to the pump which is on the same side as your thingy (non driver here).

WorriedWanda · 07/06/2018 18:08

He probably has a very small penis.

Tinkobell · 07/06/2018 18:08

He's a pathetic, mysognistic arse! He would NEVER have had the balls to say the same words to a guy.
I find it so worrying that there's so many nasty bastards like this floating around in society.

Jaxhog · 07/06/2018 18:08

Well, if you don't do it someone else will! Of course it's ok, as long as you leave them room to get out. Which you clearly did. I would have answered 'so are manners'. (Or at least I would have thought of this 5 mins later)

He's probably jealous because you have a nicer car!

Collaborate · 07/06/2018 18:09

These days they are made so that you can pull in front of the car still being fuelled. He was being an arse.

stickyplum77 · 07/06/2018 18:12

How DARE a woman answer him back! (Misogynist, definitely) . I've had a similar situation with a man being shocked at my retaliating.

Billben · 07/06/2018 18:18

I do what you did, to the point where you told him to go away. I would have told him to Fuck off.

Billben · 07/06/2018 18:24

It does seem rude to go around and pull in front...

So you are expected to watch this guy fill up, go in to pay (hoping he goes straight to the cashier and doesn’t get himself a coffee first), come back out, drive off and THEN you can use the front pump? Don’t be ridiculous. Who has time for that?

olbndansmummy · 07/06/2018 18:28

I would think the majority of us do that op, he was just an ignorant nob arse. Mind you having said that I had a chap pull in front of me yesterday in his 18 reg penis extension, and he pulled so close to my front bumper I needed a sodding tin opener to get out cos a car had pulled behind me to queue! And obviously he got called a few choice names and he just shrugged his bloody shoulders and said I needed to learn how to drive. Twat

EdWinchester · 07/06/2018 18:29

You did what everyone does.

He’s clearly mental.

Mummyoflittledragon · 07/06/2018 18:38

Imnotfussed
That’s a load of rubbish. Pay for the hose. Most larger petrol stations are being equipped with extra long leads.

YANBU at all op. I would have done exactly the same unless I risked blocking him in, which idiots have done to me before now.

HotSauceCommittee · 07/06/2018 18:43

YANBU.
I hope you flipped the bird at the cheeky spunk trumpet as well.

Leontine · 07/06/2018 18:47

I think I would go on front, but I’m struggling to think of an occasion when I’ve been to a petrol station that has 2 rows of pumps....

user1485609714 · 07/06/2018 18:50

Good for you for not causing a longer than necessary queue and for standing up to him. What a pathetic bully (Him not you.)

SickofPeterRabbit · 07/06/2018 18:53

@KatnissMellark Sorry, how was he sexist?! A twat yes, but I'm not finding what he said sexist? Yes 'BINT' refers to a woman but no different to a woman calling a man a 'Dickhead' which women do frequently?! Especially on MN. But that's ok of course....

SickofPeterRabbit · 07/06/2018 18:54

@KatnissMellark And you calling him an idiot eludes to him being male. So by calling him a sexist idiot, you're being sexist to him! We could go on forever....

peachdribble · 07/06/2018 19:02

Another bit of unnecessary sexism 🙄. You were not BU

bigmummydragon · 07/06/2018 19:23

Cock nostril😂😂😂

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/06/2018 20:04

I went round a lady the other day who was dithering behind the second pump despite the first one clearly being free. She glared at me as I sailed round and parked beside the pump. If I had room to do it in my Landrover she definitely did in her little SUV. She seemed to be able to manage to go round me, I was filling up, she must have put a fivers worth in hers, she was only there about two minutes. I haven’t got time to wait behind ditherers when there’s clearly enough space at the next pump. If she didn’t want to use it, tough, I did.

Athena18 · 07/06/2018 20:29

Can’t see anything rude or inappropriate by your actions. I would absolutely do the same and would wxpect others to do the same to me. Whether I leave room for a straight exit by the car behind depends entirely on the distance between the pumps and how far forwards the other car is. If patience is a virtue let him espouse it. My time is as valuable as his. Had to look up’bint’..Found this......
‘ bint is British slang for a woman or girl, but it is always disparaging and offensive and signals the user as lower class and unrefined. It’s also now rather dated.’ Enough said.
