AIBU to return the massive stash of porn I just found in the house I just bought?

Just moved into a house, it has been a feat of endurance not made easier by the extremely uncooperative seller. The family wanted to exchange early, set a date to move that was extremely inconvenient. We made arrangements to move on that day, called in favours and spent money to move on that day and then they changed it to a day four days later that was even more inconvenient. They knew we were desperate to move and took advantage.

So we moved in today and when we were going round the house we found a huge stash of frankly filthy porn in the fitted wardrobe of the bedroom that was occupied by the 12 year old son.

I have just had a text off the estate agent saying that the seller has left a le creuset pot in the oven and could we leave it with a neighbour for them to collect. AIBU to put the le creuset pot in a box surrounded by the porn videos and leave it at the neighbors?

When I lived at my parents before I left home a newly married couple moved in next door, they looked like a nice couple. The wife was really into her religion, the priest was always coming round & she went on religious retreats, after about five years the cracks started showing in their marriage, the wife started working from home & we later found out she was having an affair with one of her clients, they split up.

The wife stayed in the house for another year & then sold up to another young couple who decided to gut the house & do a loft conversion, when they started to clear the loft they found boxes of stuff that the previous owners had left, when they opened them they were full of hard core porn, not the stuff from the top shelf in the paper shop, this was really dodgy foreign magazines & films, plus they had also forgotten their "home movie" collection.

The previous wife is now a big name in local business society & local politics, her name is always appearing in local papers, I bet my parent's neighbours wish they hadn't burnt them.

You might have shown mercy?
Really?
Get a grip - you feel they didn't behave well during the move so you have decided to set out to embarrass and cause problems...
Yes clutch your pearls and laugh at your wit...

MLMsuperfan · 30/05/2018 06:55

What's wrong with porn?

Mooey89 · 30/05/2018 07:06

This is my favourite thread for a long time 😂

Buster72 · 30/05/2018 07:09

Are these really VCR ? In which case they are ancient. May not even have been the previous owners.
Why the need to humiliate people?
What are you seeking to gain?
You sound like a really vindictive individual.

MismatchedStripySocks · 30/05/2018 07:27

What le crueset pot? Grin

Loving all the ideas about the porn though.

wolfmom · 30/05/2018 07:44

I can't be the only one who would find a VCR and have a look at the porn

SoupDragon · 30/05/2018 08:12

Sexually humiliate the DS

How?

Andrewofgg · 30/05/2018 08:58

Now I know why I bought a DVD-VHS machine which copies from one to the other . . .

Return the lot, it’s not yours, put them in an opaque bag and tape it down, if the neighbour has a peek that’s not your problem!

ShirleyPhallus · 30/05/2018 09:13

When we moved once we didn't like the people buying the house so my brothers stole some of my dad's porn and placed it in the wardrobes...

So so so weird Confused

titchy · 30/05/2018 09:28

No 12 year old has porn VIDEOS ffs - in fact I doubt many 12 year olds even know what a VCR is! They're the dads and I love your plan!

Andrewofgg · 30/05/2018 09:32

titchy Maybe father shares them with son!

WorraLiberty · 30/05/2018 09:49

Who shares porn videos with their 12 year old child? Confused

This thread is getting weirder by the minute.

Andrewofgg · 30/05/2018 09:52

The same sort of twat who leaves them for a buyer to find!

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2018 09:54

“No, there was no Le Creuset pot, but we did find a lot of porn videos, which we’re passing to the estate agent to return to you.”

Boredandtired · 30/05/2018 09:56

@shirleyphallas yes now as an adult I agree. But as a teenager we were all aware my father had porn hidden all over the house and he and his mates all dealt it from the garage... my brothers have turned out pretty normal thankfully but my father is still disgusting.

WorraLiberty · 30/05/2018 09:56

Oh for goodness sake I'm sure it was as an oversight just like the pot left in the oven.

That doesn't make him a danger to children either!

DaysLikeThese123 · 30/05/2018 12:52

As they were a nightmare and cost you time, yes totally return it

Who's to say he doesn't want his porn back anyway and is just too embarrassed to ask for it?

Anyway people on this thread are way to intense about the situation, I don't think anyone will think too deeply about you returning some old porn vids in a few weeks... it'll be one of those things people look back on and laugh

I think there's more drama on this thread than will ever happen from you returning the old stash of vids IMHO

MumofBoysx2 · 30/05/2018 14:52

I would if I wasn't getting a 12 year old into embarrassment and trouble. Would love to have if they were found in the man's bedside table or something! It's not the boy's fault you had issues.

MumofBoysx2 · 30/05/2018 14:54

Decoupage the le creuset!!! I just saw that! So funny, completely genius!!!

SomeKnobend · 30/05/2018 15:05

It's their shit, they should have got rid of it or taken it with them. They didn't. OP giving them back isn't her humiliating them, if they didn't want them returned in this manner they should have sorted their own shit out. I would absofuckinglutely pop them in a bag with the le creuset and give it to the requested neighbour and then confirm afterwards that you have done so.

SofieMonde · 30/05/2018 15:07

are the titles worth a giggle?

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 30/05/2018 15:14

Did the previous owner have a moustache? Maybe he was in the films and that's why he kept them?!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/05/2018 15:19

Oh dear... sense of humour failure for some!

Of course you return their property to them, it wasn't on the fixtures and fittings list, you didn't buy it with the house and you are aware thy have left other items behind. So of course you return it! It's the only honest, law abiding thing to do!

And the list will give your solicitor a good giggle, so go for that too!

Sod not embarrassing them. Had the been the embarrassable types they wouldn't have left it behind n the first place. What kind of lazy arsed, grubby mind does that?

PlumsGalore · 30/05/2018 15:58

I wouldn't involve the solicitor (it may cost some money for another letter) but I would return the casserole pot with the porn via the neighbour and a note saying that you found these on the top of the wardrobe and so are retuning these also.

fuck em.
