AIBU to return the massive stash of porn I just found in the house I just bought?

Just moved into a house, it has been a feat of endurance not made easier by the extremely uncooperative seller. The family wanted to exchange early, set a date to move that was extremely inconvenient. We made arrangements to move on that day, called in favours and spent money to move on that day and then they changed it to a day four days later that was even more inconvenient. They knew we were desperate to move and took advantage.

So we moved in today and when we were going round the house we found a huge stash of frankly filthy porn in the fitted wardrobe of the bedroom that was occupied by the 12 year old son.

I have just had a text off the estate agent saying that the seller has left a le creuset pot in the oven and could we leave it with a neighbour for them to collect. AIBU to put the le creuset pot in a box surrounded by the porn videos and leave it at the neighbors?

Do It.

WindyWednesday · 29/05/2018 21:53

How do you know it’s nasty porn, unless you’ve watched it??

Angie169 · 29/05/2018 21:55

Tawdry oh yes them very thick red rubber gloves , unless some of the videos are for rubber / glove fetish .

UpstartCrow what would you draw in it ?

LavenderDoll · 29/05/2018 21:55

Why do you want to embarrass them?
I don't think it will have been left on purpose so just throw it away
Seems nasty to want to cause embarrassment and hurt and potential problems

Eifla · 29/05/2018 21:56

Agree with @Charolais

OP - is your life that pathetic that you really need to do this?

foxycleopauper · 29/05/2018 21:59

I'm a conveyancing solicitor, and I have to say this would absolutely crack me up coming into work to this email in the morning Grin

I wouldn't agree to pass the message on, though - my boss would die off BlushGrin

polsha · 29/05/2018 22:01

I would say nothing and just throw the material away. I can’t understand your need to embarrass and potentially cause problems. I guess some people need nasty little dramas in their lives.

This ^

I went to help a friend clean a rented cottage she was moving into - opened a broom cupboard and found a stack of vintage porn mags. Nothing bad but just hilariously self conscious poses and anything but arousing. Her husband arrived at midday to find little cleaning done with us giggling our heads off.

KilledByHerOwnCardigan · 29/05/2018 22:06

You would be surprised how crafty 12-year-olds can be with getting to top shelves! Ever looked for your Christmas presents? Grin I wouldn't hand them back to the wife, or in front of her; I'd let the husband have the chance to deal with it without embarrassment--and to deal with it if it's the boy's porn.

Ohyesiam · 29/05/2018 22:09

Why the drama? Just chuck it.

FASH84 · 29/05/2018 22:09

It's definitely the husband's a 12 year old these days wouldn't even know what a VHS is! Do it OP it's hilarious 😂 and they might actually want it back, did you ever see the former house owners? They might be the stars!

CaptainNancyoftheAmazon · 29/05/2018 22:11

The first house we bought was from siblings on behalf of their dad who was abroad. They left all the furniture. My mum helped us clear out & she and I found a HUGE staff of amateur soft porn photos. We just black bagged them & never mentioned it again. Still cant believe he left that potentially for his kids to sort.

AcrossthePond55 · 29/05/2018 22:12

Nah. I'd send a note that says "The Le Creuset is being held to ransom until you come and retrieve your nasty stash of porn".

SoupDragon · 29/05/2018 22:18

I would return it with the pot. There’s nothing nasty about it, just returning their treasured possessions. It would be mean and nasty to destroy something they love.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 29/05/2018 22:19

He left it because he obviously couldn’t pack it up without his wife and child spotting it! Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 29/05/2018 22:20

Are you Dave Gorman?
Or his friend/neighbour at least.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 29/05/2018 22:22

No just throw it away.

Maelstrop · 29/05/2018 22:22

Yuk. Use gloves.

RainbowGlitterFairy · 29/05/2018 22:25

The neighbours are presumably their friends so I'd have to go round with the bag of porn, piled so the titles face up, open it up and say 'they left these too, would you mind passing them on?'

londonrach · 29/05/2018 22:28

Agree...why stir up nastiness...just throw them. This will come back to bite you otherwise

Rudi44 · 29/05/2018 22:28

To those saying why the drama just bin, buying a house is stressful as it is, on this occasion made much worse by tricky sellers, I am sure if they had been easy to deal with the OP would have just binned the videos.
Definitely hand to the neighbours and solicitors letter, it will make you feel so much better

Cuttingthegrass · 29/05/2018 22:30

I wonder what you'll find hidden in the loft if that was in plain view in the wardrobe Grin

TuTru · 29/05/2018 22:32

Burn it xx

LoveManyTrustfew · 29/05/2018 22:35

Back in the day when all this were fields, a former MNer moved into a house and discovered a gimp suit in the attic.

To my shame, I can't remember the outcome. Blush

SoupDragon · 29/05/2018 22:37

This will come back to bite you otherwise

How?
