Seems it missed everywhere but London (going by the pictures the BBC put up ???)

Woke me up at 2ish this morning - very loud. Clearly a massive one as the thunder was coming from miles away to overhead in seconds.

Some fabulous photos on the BBC link.

Anyone having storms today? It’s gone very humid and still in the West Mids, as if there’s something brewing...

DGRossetti · 27/05/2018 16:11

We just got back (SW Brum) 30 mins ago.

Gone humid and there's been a few real cracks of thunder, which LighteningMaps suggest are around Quinton/Harborne/Bearwood ... possibly nudging north Hmm.

A few drops of rain, but I wouldn't be surprised if the heavens open.

DW and I are massive fans, and have been known to turn lights off, open the curtains and watch a good storm pass with a glass of Wine

I did hear the thunder, sometimes the whole house vibrated; with my sleep mask on I didn't see any lightning at all. A soaking cat entered the house soon after though.

It's felt stormy all day today, with the sunshine, a bit miffed that I cancelled some outdoor swimming for a storm which has not so far struck!

Ds just said to me "We could have gone camping after all. The weather forecast got it wrong." He slept through it all!

Only, he didn't. I found him wandering around on the landing at about midnight during the storm, very confused. He was trying to get back from the toilet to to his room, but kept getting lost because every time there was a flash of lightning he turned around. He doesn't remember it at allGrin

Brightening up now, and can hear birdsong (usually a good indicator things have settled).

DGRossetti · 27/05/2018 16:38

Scratch that - darkening and cooling again ...

Papergirl1968 · 27/05/2018 20:36

Thunder and lightning between about 4pm and 6.30pm. Gone over now but still quite humid.

Amazeballs last night in London - the fuschia clouds were backlit in icy neon blue, all crackling, as the sun set and the lightning kicked off.
