To be honest I checked the BBC to make sure there wasn't anything explosive happening. Never thought of the Martians though!

That was weird. I clicked on this thread 10 mins ago and had no idea what anyone was talking about - no lightning here.

...And now we've got a lightning storm!

Nothing in Bedfordshire, although it is clouding over a bit now.

Saw the International Space Station whizz past earlier though.

lighthouse yes four of them! They're about three months old now. I know lots of people hate foxes but I love them. So fabulous to have them in such a central urban place.

All seems to have come to a stop now in NW Kent.

Just been watching amazing sheet lightening in Grays, Essex. No rain yet though.

Nothing in North Yorkshire yet.

South east London here and it’s great. We’ve been sitting out in the garden. Loads of very visible lightening but no rain for ages.

Rain has started now but very weirdly at one point we could hear rain falling on the flower beds and around us but couldn’t feel anything at all, like we were just outside of where it was raining.

Best thunderstorm I’ve seen in years.

bialystockandbloom love the photos of the fox cubs. I love foxes and feed them every night but haven’t been lucky enough to see any cubs yet.

South east London. Children ran downstairs to tell me and then fell asleep with the blinds up watching the dazzling light show.

Its been amazing here, constant lightning and the occasional rumble of thunder in the distance, been going on for well over an hour. At first I thought that something was going on in the allotments nearby.

Continuous sheet lightning here in SE Kent but no bangs and crashes! Hope we get some thunder before it dies down

Loads of lightening, thunder and rain here in west London which is completely freaking out one of my dogs. 😟 Who is consequently pacing and walking over my head - not conducive to sleep!

No thunder or rain at the moment in our part of Kent , just constant lightning .
