the most amazing lightning, distant (atm) thunder.

In south London - spectacular lightning at least once a second and has been for at least the last 30 mins (when DS woke me up).

Sky here is now alight, like something out of an apocalypse movie, and torrential rain. I've never seen anything it.

Does anyone know how the lightning maps work? How does it know where the lightning is?

Berkshire - fab lightning show but it's so humid.

Can't wait for it to cool down (and am hoping my house is completely waterproof )

Me and doggy have been sitting outside watching the lightening going over. It seems to have gone in two waves. We're in now and he's just woken up to rumble of thunder.

I feel very left out , although it does sound a bit bloody frightening. Can't work the map out 🙃

Well it seems that's the end of my fun. Off to bed now!
How did my always wake up at night time for no bloody reason children sleep through that!

SE London/Kent and it's really amazing. Only time I've seen a comparable storm was on a really dodgy ancient bus with threadbare tyres going from Essaouira to Marrakech. We missed the nice clean bus and had to catch that one. The rain was really deep on the motorway and it was splashing up through the floor as high as my shoulder inside the bus. That was our honeymoon and so this storm was making me feel all romantic until it woke up the baby.

SW London. Loads of light but it’s so quiet. Surely there should be great big thunder claps if it’s anywhere near?
