To want to shout about my new bras from the rooftops?!

THANK YOU to whoever it was who told me about the boob or bust method on here a few months ago. For YEARS I've been wearing a 38G as I was told that's what I was in M&S. I knew it wasn't right, my back isn't 38 inches and if I bent over I'd get the hideous double boob Shock

Measured myself using boob or bust and came out as a 32J or 34JJ. Went for 34JJ and ordered a load of Curvy Kate and Flirtelle bras in the brastop sale. They arrived about an hour ago and I've just been prancing around with the mum tum flying in all directions in my new bras. I feel AMAZING. They're comfortable, they manage to lift up my (huge) boobs and not make them look saggy, they look GOOD.

So it turns out I'm two back sizes and FIVE cup sizes (GG, H, I, J, JJ) bigger than I was previously wearing! No wonder I always had bloody back pain.

Just wanted to shout about it for all the women in the back who haven't tried it yet, or still trust in the outdated method M&S and a few other places use.

I AM SO HAPPY Grin

This can't be right. I'm so flat-chested I generally don't bother with a bra. Just tried this out and it says I'm a 28F Shock Shock Shock Does anyone know if that's actually possible???

jerrysbellyhangslikejelly · 24/05/2018 11:34

I was measured using these principles just without a measuring tape and went from a 40E to a 36G/GG. I’m a size 20 and thought no way in hell is a 36 band going up go around me. But it does and now the band sits where it’s supposed to, not up between my shoulder blades! Much much more comfortable and much more flattering!

KirstenRaymonde · 24/05/2018 12:10

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight if that’s what it says that’ll be right. 28 is a very small back, so an F cup with that back will be much smaller than 36F for example. You’ll probably find your boobs look much bigger in the right fitting bra, it makes a huge difference. Give them a try

AnyFucker · 24/05/2018 12:15

I was "flat chested" in a 34B.

I wasn't a "booby" person, never gave them a thought.

Put me in a 32DD and the difference is amazing. I now have boobs proportionate to my frame and am clearly not "flat chested" at all.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 24/05/2018 12:20

Off to browse bras! Very very surprised. I think the last bra I wore was a 34B.

Greenteandchives · 24/05/2018 12:31

28FF? Can there be such a size? I am currently comfy in. 34B!

KirstenRaymonde · 24/05/2018 13:03

Greenteandchives comfy doesn’t mean it fits or supports you properly though Smile

GunpowderAndLead · 24/05/2018 14:28

Can't wait for my GG bra to arrive. I am so curious to see if that really is more comfortable (from an F)

GlitterAntlers · 24/05/2018 14:40

I wear a 38DD

And it says I'm a 38 HH!!

ArcticMumkey · 24/05/2018 14:49

Brastop are doing a flash sale and free delivery this weekend by the way 😊 Yes yes to those saying they keep going on about it to people in real life, my Mum has worn a 34B for her whole adult life yet she weighs less than 30E me and takes a smaller clothes size. I'm desperate to stage a bra intervention on her!

GrumbleBumble · 24/05/2018 14:50

Eeekkkk I'm not the 36DD I've been wear for my post breast feeding years I am a 32 HH. Looks like my tiny disposable income will be being used on a new bra a month for the foreseeable.

Cellardoor23 · 24/05/2018 14:54

I got measured at bravissimo a few months ago and was told I was a 34GG. I've just gone on that website and it says I'm apparently a 34JJ Shock Confused

tor8181 · 24/05/2018 15:26

im wearing a 38J,(tight around the band width though)done this and come up as a 40GG,going to try ebay

YackityYack · 24/05/2018 15:52

With the bra guru I went from a 34b to a 30D. I was shocked but I have the best fitting bras I've ever had now.

Mirrorwriting · 24/05/2018 16:00

It’s hard to get size 28 bras Sad

positivepineapple · 24/05/2018 16:07

Will this method of measuring help with my issue of straps falling down??

I wear a 34D or 32E (M&S measurements so no doubt they will change) I've always thought my cup and back size feel great - however my straps are always falling down. It's so bloody annoying.

KirstenRaymonde · 24/05/2018 16:28

positivepineapple yes it should, the support should come from underneath with the straps just there to hold it together a bit, but if they’re always falling down that suggest your bra is the wrong size.

KirstenRaymonde · 24/05/2018 16:29

Mirrorwriting There’s plenty online

positivepineapple · 24/05/2018 16:33

Thank you! KirstenRaymonde

Off to Sainsbury's to (hopefully) buy a tape measure. I will update later Smile

Frax · 24/05/2018 16:36

I suspect this only works for large boobs.
I got measured at 32C and wasted money on bras that cut me in half and went in the bin.
I have virtually none tiny ones and wear a 38A as any smaller size is too tight and bigger cups are just empty.

Racheyg · 24/05/2018 16:41

Wtf I am 30 ff is that even a size?

Branleuse · 24/05/2018 16:43

of course it is Rachey, thats my size. Its not even that big

badtime · 24/05/2018 17:02

Rachey, that is my size and it's just normal-looking.

(Actually, I just checked the calculator and it says I am 28G, and I am in some bras).

Racheyg · 24/05/2018 17:21

I've been wearing 36 c since I gave up breast feeding. Hmm

badtime and branleuse where do you buy your bras from?

KirstenRaymonde · 24/05/2018 17:49

Frax it works for all boobs, tape measures don’t work differently on different bodies, and actually most people need larger sizes than they think. Just because a 32C was wrong doesn’t mean you’re not bigger than an A. A 38A is a very unusual size, A is only an inch bigger than band size. Are you a size 18 or above? Do use the calculator and see what it says.
