To want to shout about my new bras from the rooftops?!

THANK YOU to whoever it was who told me about the boob or bust method on here a few months ago. For YEARS I've been wearing a 38G as I was told that's what I was in M&S. I knew it wasn't right, my back isn't 38 inches and if I bent over I'd get the hideous double boob Shock

Measured myself using boob or bust and came out as a 32J or 34JJ. Went for 34JJ and ordered a load of Curvy Kate and Flirtelle bras in the brastop sale. They arrived about an hour ago and I've just been prancing around with the mum tum flying in all directions in my new bras. I feel AMAZING. They're comfortable, they manage to lift up my (huge) boobs and not make them look saggy, they look GOOD.

So it turns out I'm two back sizes and FIVE cup sizes (GG, H, I, J, JJ) bigger than I was previously wearing! No wonder I always had bloody back pain.

Just wanted to shout about it for all the women in the back who haven't tried it yet, or still trust in the outdated method M&S and a few other places use.

I AM SO HAPPY Grin

Have just measured myself and I've been wearing 38G but I'm apparently a 32 JJ Shock I don't even know where I could buy bras that size where I can actually try them on! Looking forward to trying though!

I told a friend about this a few weeks ago as she was moaning about her bras. Saw her last week and she’s gobsmacked at the size difference and delighted at the change in her shape and comfort. If anyone hasn’t measured themselves with this method yet you really need to!

HateSummer · 23/05/2018 14:22

I’m 32J now Shock.

Bra intervention doesn’t work for me anymore. I’m currently wearing a 36G from M&S...I’m not sure I want to buy 32J sized bras as I’ve wasted a lot of money on them trying to figure out my size. They feel comfy for a day and then they start hurting and boob spillage happens.

Fink · 23/05/2018 14:25

The site is blocked by my filter (including on phone where I didn't realise I had a filter). Is there any other way to access the sizing info? I'm intrigued.

photographyaddict · 23/05/2018 14:25

Just tried Boob or Bust and I measured at 42FF! Bit of a leap from DD but okay haha :)

Luisa27 · 23/05/2018 14:28

P.S. Absolute favourite place in UK is Rigby & Peller....pricey but so, so worth it

I love the Conduit St boutique - the staff are lovely- professional, experienced and the lingerie is exquisite

Lonelynessie · 23/05/2018 14:28

Apparently, I'm a 32JJ - 😲

upsideup · 23/05/2018 14:39

I'm usually a 32C which I think fits really well, just measured and it says I am a 28F! Surely that cant be right, theres no way I would fill an F

Lweji · 23/05/2018 14:47

@Arriesgirl1988 if you really are a 40 back, how on hell did you manage to put on a 38?
A 40 back should fit snuggly, so a 38 would be virtually impossible to wear.
Are you sure you don't mean a 34?

DieSchottin93 · 23/05/2018 14:51

@upsideup Cup sizes means nothing without the band size. A 28F is smaller in the cup than a 32F, for example. Once you've scooped and swooped properly you'd be surprised at how much of a 28F (which is only one cup size up from me btw, and I have small boobs) you can fill.

Ariesgirl1988 · 23/05/2018 14:52

@Lweji I was definitely wearing a 38 its not exactly comfortable but it is possible to get it on since wearing a 40F its much more comfortable

Lweji · 23/05/2018 14:56

My concern is that your 40 back is too wide, actually, and not giving you enough support, in fact. Did you try a 38 in a sufficiently big cup?

DieSchottin93 · 23/05/2018 15:01

M&S are known for the +4 method so it's more likely your back and shoulders were aching was because the band was actually too big and thus not offering enough support.

Bejazzled · 23/05/2018 15:10

I've just measured. I'm wearing m&s 38C but coming up on that as 36FF Shock

UtterlyDesperate · 23/05/2018 15:14

I did this 20 years ago (thank heavens for Bravissimo catalogues advertised in the small ads of women's magazines, in the days before Internet shopping...) M and S said I was a 42C- actually, I was a 32H. Transformative isn't the word!

crikeycrumbsblimey · 23/05/2018 15:28

Belle lingerie are my latest find for nice bras in bigger sizes.

I’m generally a Freya or fantasie girl

Ollivander84 · 23/05/2018 15:33

Here's a sort of side on of me wearing a correctly fitted Molke bra
32JJ.... and I don't look busty from the side

To want to shout about my new bras from the rooftops?!
Branleuse · 23/05/2018 15:35

im a molke girl too

MrsDilber · 23/05/2018 15:38

M&S fitted me wrong as well.

Cloud9Until6am · 23/05/2018 15:41

M&S measured me as a 34DD - BoB a 32GG. Needless to say I am so much more comfortable and well supported in the BoB size!

vampirethriller · 23/05/2018 15:49

Debenhams said I'm 36 DD, just tried this and it's saying 34GG! Bloody Nora. I don't think Primark go that high.....Grin

1wokeuplikethis · 23/05/2018 16:06

I'm gobsmacked. Currently in my grotty m&s bras that are about 4 years old as a 34C. That website says I am 30GG.

I do not have a buxom bosom in the least; classic spaniel ears from 2 kids and years of breastfeeding.

I hate tight bras and deliberately go for bigger sizes. Do they really feel comfy when they're so tight?

meel · 23/05/2018 16:20

I’ve never been able to get it to work for me. I was wearing a 30C/32B when I tried it. It told me I should be a 28FF, but I’ve tried that size, 28F, 28E, 30E, 30F and they all make me look like an 8 year old boy trying on his mum’s bras. I’ve just given up now.

Lweji · 23/05/2018 16:45

@meel
If the cup on the 30C/32B fit you well, then you should be more around 28D/28DD. Maybe you should try those sizes first? Scoop well, and see if there's overspill.

But this is why Bravissimo don't measure, the BoB method is only a starting point. Maybe try to go to a shop and see what they say.

Lweji · 23/05/2018 16:47

Do they really feel comfy when they're so tight?

If the cup fits well, then the band shouldn't feel too tight. You do have to allow for some new bra tightness, though.
But if you need support, it's best to have some tightness around the rib cage than over your shoulders.
