It all gets washed away anyway and you can clean yourself straight after Confused how come some people see this on a par apparently with dirtiness Kim+Aggie would faint at?

I pee in the shower.
I learned during my time in the army that urine is an excellent preventative and cure for blisters!!

optimuss · 23/05/2018 12:08

i never used to even dream of doing it but then i got athletes foot and someone told me to pee on my foot and it actually got rid of it so quickly!!

elefunk · 23/05/2018 12:09

Isn't urine sterile?

Elendon · 23/05/2018 12:09

I was told to pee in the shower after the birth of my children. Like an hour after the birth - I had no injuries.

SheepyFun · 23/05/2018 12:10

yaffingale how do you know that your horse won't turn to face you mid-wee? And what do you do if s/he does?! Do you feel self-conscious or are you worried s/he'll develop bad habits? So many questions Wink

BevBrook · 23/05/2018 12:11

You wouldn't wee in a shared shower though would you? Like at the gym? Please say you wouldn't!

smoothieooo · 23/05/2018 12:12

I do! But it's my ensuite shower that only I use and it gets cleaned regularly (including the trap bit). Pretty sure it's not splashing up the walls of the shower and it's usually before I soap my feet Grin

Mind you... I was caught short yesterday and had to pee in a field (I'm a slave to my bladder). I wonder if those people who are so revolted by peeing in the shower have issues going somewhere other than a toilet?

Racecardriver · 23/05/2018 12:12

I wouldn't but I live in a new build and the drains are too small so the water sort of gathers in the shower tray and only fully drains when you are done. I generally wouldn't though because I wouldn't be able to do that without cleaning the shower.

Ikabod · 23/05/2018 12:13

You can drink urine - it's been through the finest filtration system in the world*. I see no problem weeing in the shower and I also read a piece a while ago encouraging people to do it because it saves water.

*not checked that "fact" but they are pretty darned good at the job!

Ollivander84 · 23/05/2018 12:14

Sheepy - mine often wanders over and tries to headbutt me Grin not helpful

SinkGirl · 23/05/2018 12:14

The SOS Foundation of Brazil agrees with you - in fact they had an award winning campaign several years ago encouraging this to save water

I used to do it in my shared house at Uni.

We only had 1 toilet, and one of my housemates would sometimes take FOREVER in there. So, sometimes I would have a shower and have a wee while I was in there.

witchofzog · 23/05/2018 12:16

Why wouldn't you just use the toilet beforehand though? Much more comfortable and you know, designed for this purpose. You must know you need to pee before you shower surely?

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2018 12:16

I wee in the shower. I think it’s cleaner than the large clots of blood, which emerge when I have my period. My uterus is the size of a planet so I wee a lot as it obviously presses down on my bladder. Not everyone can just wee straight before and be fine to hold their bladder when they are listening to the sound of water in the shower. If you wee slowly, there’s no splash back, it just trickles down, mine is never vast quantities as I’ve we’ed within the past 1/2 hour. The midwife even advised me to wee in the shower until I’d healed after giving birth.

imweirdandcool · 23/05/2018 12:20

I do it

snotato · 23/05/2018 12:20

www.drainageconsultantsltd.co.uk/news/go/

According to this, all household water from toilets, baths, sinks etc end up in the same place,
It’s just the rainwater that gets carried off to streams etc.

I too pee in the shower when I need to.

Lethaldrizzle · 23/05/2018 12:21

No! But some people wee in swimming pools Shock

BevBrook · 23/05/2018 12:23

The showers at our gym are more like wet rooms - is that the name for it? I mean they have tiled floors that are all on a level with the floor outside the large cubicle, doors that don't come all the way down to the floor, and a small drain to one side. If you did a wee in there I am pretty sure it would not all drain away straight away, there is always water on the floor. I suspect some mingers do it though. Personally I don't like my showers to smell of urine.

adaline · 23/05/2018 12:24

Why wouldn't you just use the toilet beforehand though?

Why would you waste water flushing a toilet when you're about to get in the shower?

Trinity66 · 23/05/2018 12:25

Its a problem if you have shower curtains rather than a shower door, the wee soaks into the material and smells, gross

yaffingale · 23/05/2018 12:25

Sheepy

They turn to face me all the time Grin

My mare just ignores me, whereas my little Gelding stares right at my face!

Interestingly all the comments about wee splashing up legs in the shower, my mare wont pee in the paddock on hard ground because of that very reason. It splashes up her legs and she hates it

ciderhouserules · 23/05/2018 12:26

I pee in the shower - if I use the loo, the cistern takes ages to refill and it takes all the water, so very little gets to the shower.

Saves water too.

itallhappensforareason · 23/05/2018 12:26

Some people drink their own urine. Just leaving that here.

ciderhouserules · 23/05/2018 12:27

I don't understand all this 'splashing' fear - surely it just runs down your legs and into the drain? It does not splash onto the shower curtain!
