And I clean my shower after use, and wash my feet, so why is getting a bit of pee on there so disgusting?

I assume that all the people going "eww!" never swim in the sea (full of pee, poo and numerous bacteria), public swimming pools or walk barefoot in the gym changing rooms.

Peeing in the shower is no more unhygienic than any of the above, or handling money, touching door handles, shaking hands or sharing a computer keyboard.

Urine is sterile apparently so can’t see what all the fuss is about. Maybe that’s why it cures athletes foot!!! Clearly as some folk drink their own urine (🤢) It can be harmful to splash it around the shower. Not that I do but each to their own.

You are peeing down a drain, not all over the floor and just leaving it. You are peeing while having a shower which involves soap and water, all of which will rinse away the pee!!!!! How can that possibly be disgusting?

I never knew some people were so grossed out by pee. It's just pee. It's mostly water!

This thread has reminded me to ask older DS to go out later and pee on the compost!

Hahaha this thread has really tickled me - what do people think urine is made up of? If you stay well hydrated urine should be almost clear, it's basically just extra filtered water - God forbid it should... SPLASH YOUR FOOT!! I wee in the shower pretty much every time, I just seem to get the urge. I'll also wee in a field, bushes etc, whenever I am when nature calls. I'm probably considered a real cretin to some of you!

Umm.. It may be the finest filtration system in the world, I don't know. But you do realise that the stuff that comes out is the stuff that the body doesn't want to keep? As in the stuff that is being filtered out?

I read an article on Netmums (sorry) about a university that encouraged students living in halls to have their first wee of the day in the showers, saved gallons of water!

I pee in the shower. The shower is attached above the bath, so that means I pee in the bath when I have a shower. That is even worse than peeing on a shower floor.

Sometimes I think I don't need a wee then once I am in I do. Sometimes I just can't be arsed to wee in the toilet first.

No I can't believe adult people pee in the shower! That is atrocious. Imagine if everyone did it fgs - the stink! We're a family of 5 and it doesn't bear thinking about. This has been an eye-opener. Why bother anyway, when the loo is right there? I don't get it.

Why would it stink, Pa1oma? A small flush uses (I think) about 6 ltrs of water. A shower prob twice that, if not more, with the addition of soap/shower gel/shampoo. There is a U-bend on both to stop smell coming up from the drains/sewers. Why would it smell?

If your pee stinks you should probably visit the doctor! Healthy urine shouldn't smell bad unless it's left to sit for hours on end. And if your shower stinks of pee, you should probably clean it occasionally

Wasn't this a huge debate in one of the early Big Brother houses the argument is that shower water won't wash all trace of it away
