Outside of Childrens births and meeting your OH.

Mine is my MIL.

My job

My childhood

My career (both of them!).

My then boyfriend cancelling our date which subsequently led me to messaging a mate in my phone.. he changed my life and has been my best friend and rock for the past 16 years. He's call him my brother and he will be the man who will walk me down the aisle when I marry my fiance.

Moving to London - granted it didn't "happen to me" exactly, I had input - but the opportunities it's given me, the career I've built, friends I've made, lifestyle I've been able to develop - all the things that make me happy everyday, I truly don't think I could have had all that in the same way anywhere else.

Being loved so much that it healed a wound in my heart that had been stopping me from being properly alive.

Being put up for adoption at 17 days old.

Also - perhaps more fundamentally, winning the lottery of life that is who you get as parents. Mine are fucking awesome people who did a fantastic job of raising me. They are the reason I've been able to do what I do.

Joining AA and stopping drinking. It’s turned, not just my life, but me as a person, around. I’m very grateful.

Receiving a donor egg and being successful on first attempt.

Having fabulous parents. And taking the opportunity to live abroad.

Tbh, I've been very lucky, lots of good stuff has happened to me.

My dd is the best thing of all, but I wasn't allowed to say that!

Phoning a SW one day, just as she’d been informed of the early birth of a baby who was to be placed with foster carers. They were on holiday, so she asked whether I could take the baby on an emergency placement. I did. That baby turned 18 last week and is my darling youngest child.

Starting my own business

Getting my (soon to be bought) council house

Moving to this part of the world (safe and beautiful) as a child

Failing in love with exercise

Buying my house, I think.

Going out one night with a friend to a local pub and being a bit pissed off and bored - then meeting my OH.

My ds2. Giving me a reason to live since the death of ds1.

Being so lucky with my parents and the opportunities they gave me that I haven't really needed much to change - I was put on a pretty happy path in the first place.

Being able to travel around the world before having children.

Apart from the things you’ve mentioned, nothing at all. I’ve had a shit life. I have a shit family.

Moving away. It really helped my anxiety and well being, even though I do miss my mum some days.

With no decent careers guidance or emphasis on education, I carved out a great career for myself surpassing all my own and my family's expectations.

Getting my dog! ( not allowed to say kids births or meeting dp)

Meeting my friends, especially my two best friends.

This question has made me really sad. I’ve spent 10 minutes trying to think of something amazing that’s happened to me outside of meeting DH and having DCs and I’m coming up blank. Maybe my best thing to happen is in my future.
