Going to university.
I was bullied at school and really struggled with confidence through school and 6th form.
University for me was a terrifying step and the first time I'd lived away from home.
I met some amazing people, and really discovered my confidence and fully embraced life.
It and the people I met changed me for the better and I'm so happy I took that leap and went.

Coming off life support and beating sepsis twice.

So many. After a shit childhood I have had a very happy adult life (albeit with the usual ups and downs). I got an MSc when I was 52 after leaving school with no qualifications. I have an en suite bathroom, the stuff of Hollywood , Doris Day style fantasy when I was growing up. And last week my adult child rang me to invite me to join them on a shared hobby trip away as 'it would be even more fun with you there'. I always wanted children to give them a better childhood than I had but I never dreamed I could be a good enough Mum that they would seek my company out even after they grew up and left home.

My parents and grandparents. And I thank my lucky stars every day for most wonderful friends who have made me laugh for years and held my hand through a decade of utter crap.

Definitely travelling the world (pre-kids), I know if I hadn't it would be a massive regret.
