When the couple were making their vows - heads firmly in programmes

Many people looking very serious in my wedding photos during vows. I think that’s normal, rather than looking delighted. It’s quite solemn. However everyone is actually looking at us rather than their laps.

AntiqueSinger · 19/05/2018 19:23

I think Kate looked tired and is showing the strain of being a new mum a bit more this time than she has previously. But that's all.

TawandaT · 19/05/2018 19:24

I think even the most polished of people would have been caught off guard by an American minister going utterly off-piste and wayyy over his time slot. The man was talking son utter rot for part of it, fire to thank for email? Who wouldn't smirk? People do tend to smile/smirk when something unexpected happens.

I might be wrong but I think this is the quickest she's been out and about officially post baby.

Fireinthehold · 19/05/2018 19:27

Stop pitting Kate against Meghan.

From all accounts, Kate, William, Meghan and Harry get on very well. Meghan went to a private school in a well to do area so how exactly is she very different from Kate? I am sure the four of them are having a blast at the evening reception. Good luck to all of them

Barbie222 · 19/05/2018 19:29

I think the queen just had her normal resting bitch face, nothing out of the ordinary?

DrEustaciaBenson · 19/05/2018 19:32

I thought Zara looked very uncomfortable whenever I happened to notice her. She was probably doing well to focus on the service at all.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 19/05/2018 19:33

I reckon none of them wanted to cry and so were studiously thinking about other stuff. Especially Kate, she looked just like I would (apart from being gorgeous and well groomed) if I was frantically trying not to sob in public.

BinG0wings123 · 19/05/2018 19:34

Weddings are boring AF.
Especially long winded ones like royal ones.
All that signing, Christ, I’d have nodded off.

StopWhisperingStopShouting · 19/05/2018 19:34

Isn’t she heavily pregnant dr? I’d have been uncomfortable too!

Buckingfrolicks · 19/05/2018 19:34

For gods sake they were possibly

A) trying to stay as I conspicuous and expressionless as poss in order to avoid crass public judgement
And Or
B) trying to manage their emotions.

BinG0wings123 · 19/05/2018 19:34

*singing

Jux · 19/05/2018 19:34

I'm not sure I've paid more attention to the couple while their vows at any wedding I've attended. I know they're going to make vopws and more or lesls what the vows are likely to be, I don't need to see them or watch them closely.

I'm more likely to be looking down concentrating on actually hearing them, much more important imo.

BinG0wings123 · 19/05/2018 19:35

@Barbie222 resting bitch face 😂 she so does

AskAuntLydia · 19/05/2018 19:36

Jesus Christ, projection after projection after projection.

Get a grip.

candlefloozy · 19/05/2018 19:40

I always feel really awkward at weddings when they say the vows. I always feel like it's a really private thing so I often look away or down and think about something else.

Jux · 19/05/2018 19:44

Personally, I think the worst thing was the choir singing out of tune; that was a disgrace. And painful on the ears and the ruination of a good song.

ChoccyJules · 19/05/2018 19:44

I did notice the queen looking down a lot, never saw her smile but she did wave to the carriage afterwards.
Did you see Zara and Mike having a cosy hold the bump moment, that was very relaxed in front of the cameras!

Crunchymum · 19/05/2018 19:50

I think people wanted Kate to get up and start crooning "It should have been me" Grin

Seriously, how do we know what the Royal Family were looking at for the duration of the ceremony, when they camera's WERE NOT ON THEM THE WHOLE TIME?

Whoisthatgirl · 19/05/2018 19:52

I think they were all bored out of their minds after the sermon and possibly all wanting a wee. It went on far too long and it was cringe making imo. I think they were also avoiding eye contact iwth each other as they were stifling giggles.

rosy71 · 19/05/2018 19:57

Charles wasn't even looking when Harry made his vows.
I've just watched the video someone linked to above and Charles was watching the whole time the camera showed him.

Storminateapot · 19/05/2018 19:58

I thought the obvious smirking & giggling at Bishop Michael was incredibly rude and made them look like a bunch of crashing snobs. Really poor manners.

NotACleverName · 19/05/2018 20:03

The RF were squirming due to sheer awkwardness. They were sick at the thought of what had just taken place.

Hmm

What fucking planet are some of you on?

freshstart24 · 19/05/2018 20:06

Whatever their reasons and however weary they were I do think it would have been better for them to be looking the general direction of H&M, rather than at their laps / staring into space.

I think there are often quite a lot of serious faces at weddings- it's quite a serious thing, people are concentrating, emotions run high. So I found the solemn faces disappointing but understandable.

The not looking at the couple- most odd.

BMW6 · 19/05/2018 20:11

The only cringe inducing was the American preacher going on....and on... and on...........and on....... and on................ and on.................... and on............. and on.............

I had the feeling that he was trying to "reach" the congregation, and until people started jumping to their feet shouting "Hallelujah" or "Praise the Lord" or speaking in Tongues he wasn't going to bloody well stop......
