When the couple were making their vows - heads firmly in programmes

Maybe just following the order of service? what significance would it have if they weren’t watching

NiteFlights · 19/05/2018 17:47

'Uninterested'

Quartz2208 · 19/05/2018 17:47

That is pretty much how I look when I go to weddings/funerals/church services (and indeed how I looked when made to watch this one)

I suspect being royal means you sit through a lot of these it doesnt make it anymore interesting

iismum · 19/05/2018 17:47

They may have been uninterested but they weren't disinterested.

megletthesecond · 19/05/2018 17:48

Kate was between feeds / pumping and tired.

mydogisthebest · 19/05/2018 17:49

No, the only I noticed looking bored was Kate

chocatoo · 19/05/2018 17:51

If none of them were looking, maybe that’s what they’ve been told to do? Perhaps it is protocol not to stare avidly? I have no idea, just a thought.

SauvignonBlanche · 19/05/2018 17:53

I very much doubt they’re disinterested, why would they be?

Dapplegrey · 19/05/2018 17:54

Uninterested.

Darkbendis · 19/05/2018 17:54

Kate's been in the RF for years now, she's a mum of three, looks great, has her own style, a good relationship with everyone. I don't thing she has any reason to worry that there's a new [more] glamorous girl in the family or see her as competition. Her place in the family is now well established.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 19/05/2018 17:54

Olddear - there's no need for Kate to feel miffed - she is the Queen in waiting, not Meghan. She holds all the cards.

OliviaStabler · 19/05/2018 17:56

What did you expect them to do? Dance about? Shout out Hallelujah? Cry uncontrollabley?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 19/05/2018 17:56

Have you ever looked at the audience of any public event? People often look bored when they are in fact concentrating.

Longdistance · 19/05/2018 17:56

Seriously?

You know yourselves as a parent who’s just popped out a baby, how anxious you are. Louis’ only about 4 weeks old. I wouldn’t want to be at a wedding this long without my baby. She’s probably fucking knackered.

couchparsnip · 19/05/2018 17:57

Uninterested is bored and disinterested is more about being impartial and not connected.

itswinetime · 19/05/2018 17:59

Kate did give birth was it three weeks ago fair chance she's not back to 100% yet! Personally I wouldn't be going to a wedding that soon after giving birth!

Playdohnut · 19/05/2018 17:59

Disinterested = impartial/has no stake in, and therefore no "interest" in that sense. Uninterested = bored/not paying attention, and not "interested" in that sense.

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2018 18:00

Classic church face
It’s funny how uninterested people look in an audience

Whwhywhy · 19/05/2018 18:01

Think Philip gets a free pass. Poor soul looked very frail.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/05/2018 18:01

I was more surprised that the Queen didn't appear to crack a smile at all. At William and Kate's wedding she looked so very happy and I did wonder about the difference

NurseButtercup · 19/05/2018 18:02

YABU

They were probably reading the vows that were written word for word in the order of service

Keepittenten · 19/05/2018 18:03

The RF sat through rehearsals and dinner etc so probably were not that overwhelmed by it all. Plus they have heard about all the wedding talk for a while maybe. If you had the camera on me, while I was thinking what DC were up to, at a family member’s wedding...I think I would look bored/uninterested/disinterested at times.

greenlavender · 19/05/2018 18:04

Yes it's very soon for Kate to be on show. Also Charles is probably embarrassed to look up during the vows with his past.

LetsGoBitches · 19/05/2018 18:06

To be fair to Kate, I thought she was keeping an eye on Charlotte and George. They were down the aisle, away from H and M, so she would have had to look away to look at the altar.

I did think no one was really looking at them though, and if you look at the arrangement of H and Ms chairs you can see they had their backs to the RF and only Doria could see them.

Even Harry was left out of Meghan’s gaze as she looked down the church to the choirs! He looked a little lost at times.

Strange arrangement of the bridal chairs.

FirstOfHerName · 19/05/2018 18:06

I thought the smirking at the bishop's sermon was a bit nasty. Yes he went on a while but he was so passionate and said some very powerful things about Martin Luther King and slavery.
