How many do you have and what are the age gaps like? Would you want more and why?

My four are:
Girl 19, boy 17, boy 14 and girl 4

They are amazing kids and I feel truly blessed

JacintaJones · 17/05/2018 20:52

I've got five.

I don't find it too expensive tbh, we have a SAHP and a nice life.
I'm stressed but no more than any other mother I know.

YANBU OP.
Have as many as you'd like and your resources will allow Smile

I have 3 and bizarrely people are always asking if I’m having any more (more than when I had just 1 or 2). I wonder if the more children you have, the more frequent this question is??!!
My reply is usually “You must be joking” Grin

PositiveAttitude · 17/05/2018 20:53

I wanted 9, have 5

Ages:

26
25
23
22
20

5 with less than 6 years between the eldest and youngest. Loved it when they were young. Absolute nightmare having 5 teenagers all at the same time!!!

Lookingforspace · 17/05/2018 20:56

We have 4: 11, 9, 6&3.
It is lots of work in terms of the washing machine being on all day. Plus one has additional needs. We have a cleaner though so that helps and I out source the ironing. Holidays are v expensive and I drive a Discovery which drinks fuel at ridiculous levels.

Rollerbird · 17/05/2018 20:56

I had 4
Girl girl boy boy
18 months gap between 1 and 2
15 months between 2 and 3
Then 18 months
They are all grown up now.
Eldest 24, youngest 20
Ive got 1 grandchild

Oldraver · 17/05/2018 20:56

Two DS's, 32 and 12. Yes I would of liked more but life didnt pan out like that

Rollerbird · 17/05/2018 20:57

I loved it and hated it at different times
But would do it again
A lot of it is a blur
But we had a lot of fun

HeedMove · 17/05/2018 20:58

13, 8, 5. Two girls and one boy and defo dont want more as three is enough and as soon as I had my son, myself and my husband just felt our family was complete.

Ohmydayslove · 17/05/2018 20:59

We have 6,

28,27,25.23,19.18.

4 oldest boys and last 2 girls.

Wonderful. Grin

freezerfoodyum · 17/05/2018 20:59

As the oldest of four children, I would rather eat my own arm than have four myself, but each to their own.

We may have one more (DS is two) but it's very definite "maybe". If we do we will have at least a 4.5 year age gap.

fleshmarketclose · 17/05/2018 21:00

I have 5 aged 30, 29, 25, 23 and 15. I would have liked six but it never happened. It was hard work when they were small but looking back they were lovely times and with my nearly empty nest I miss those days.

speakout · 17/05/2018 21:01

Ohmydayslove you must be rich to put all those kids through University.

CheeseTheDay · 17/05/2018 21:01

I had six - 15, 12, 10 (twins), 7 & 4.

Wanted six.

Would never have had more.

HadronCollider · 17/05/2018 21:01

what happened between 23 and 15?

HadronCollider · 17/05/2018 21:02

That was to fleshmarket

CharlotteCollinsneeLucas · 17/05/2018 21:04

@greenlavender - it really isn't AIBU, is it? OP asks a question, says nothing about herself and then disappears for people to post in an almost complete lack of conversation.

liz70 · 17/05/2018 21:04

Three:

DD1 19
DD2 17
DD3 8

There won't be anymore as I went through menopause at 44.

Getoffthetableplease · 17/05/2018 21:05

We have 2, with a 5 year age gap. There will be no more babies here, maybe if having littles didn't screw with my mental health quite as much as it seems to, and we had a lot more money then there would be more (but I'd like 4 or more in that case, 3 is a definite crowd imo!)

tenbob · 17/05/2018 21:10

freezer

Same... DH and I are both the eldest of 4, and can't think of anything worse

Strangely, none of our siblings have wanted if families either..! We all have 1 or 2

mamabear2010 · 17/05/2018 21:11

I wanted 4 , have 2 , would love 1 more but after 2 very hard Labour's and complications , hubby says no more , I would go again but feel to old now and slightly self fish as I like sleep again

PumpkinPie2016 · 17/05/2018 21:11

We thought we wanted two but only have one and we are done!

DS is 4 now so out of the baby and toddler stage and is much easier now. He was a difficult baby and my birth experience was hideous so I wouldn't want to do that part again.
He has cousins and plenty of friends at preschool, plus we can facilitate taking him to activities so I don't worry about him being an only.

I take my hat off to anyone who can juggle more than one!

OhDearMavis · 17/05/2018 21:13

YABU OP. Overpopulation,. climate change and lack of resources will massively impact the lives of your children. The worst thing you can do for the planet is have a child.
Our lifestyle is a temporary blip. It was grim in the past and will be grim in the future

justanotheruser18 · 17/05/2018 21:13

@Ragwort please could you link to the thread you mentioned?

StormcloakNord · 17/05/2018 21:13

Out of interest what's the need to have so many children and add more of a carbon footprint to the planet? Surely 2 is enough?
