Men wanting to be Women

To think transgender women really have no idea what being a women is ? . Maybe it's time we had a 3rd Gender . Be interested in hearing what real women & transwomen feel ?

Great post unplugme and tra's appear to be the most selfish group to fight for rights, seeing as they seriously affect / push out other people's rights.

carol1234568 · 20/05/2018 22:17

I don't understand it tbh.

Trans people seem to think being a woman is make up, over the top clothes and hair extensions etc. If we don't do these things are we not women?

All those things are social constructs too, women aren't born wearing make up and needing to wear high heels etc. It's society who says those are 'feminine things', so is it that when someone is wanting to do those things it means they want to be a woman?

That probably didn't make any sense but the whole thing baffles me.

Being a woman means being born with a vagina, not being dolled up to the nines in heels, make up and a mini skirt.

It was suggested to me that ejecting the transphobes out into the third spaces might be a more elegant solution.

Pratchet · 20/05/2018 23:40

I wouldn't mind a third space for lady terms tbh

Pratchet · 20/05/2018 23:41

Terfs

GaspingShark · 20/05/2018 23:43

I beg your pardon, yes, I meant self-identified terfs. Let's call them SITs.

Mamaryllis · 21/05/2018 00:43

I know - we could call it the women’s toilets/ changing rooms. Only those who recognize biology, were afab, and don’t believe transwomen are women should be allowed. We can call it afab if you want to be cutting edge. That would save the trauma for all the poor bepenised women who want to be able to undress and not have pesky cunty types get all frothy with them and accuse them of being male.
It sounds like a perfect solution. I recommend it. Those who don’t care or weren’t afab can use the mixed facilities.

On another note which always reassured me slightly - even the GIC counsellor who signs the paperwork authorizing your legal fiction doesn’t believe you are a woman. All s/he believes is that you believe you are a woman. Ergo that your mental health could be improved by being supported in your disordered thinking. They don’t actually believe that you are a woman. Just that your delusion appears to be persistent enough and hard enough to treat to warrant that you be afforded legal protection.

What we really need to sort this out is for the medical profession to actually be honest. With tossers like Ballsup woke-ing incontinently 24/7, that might take a while.

BlackeyedSusan · 21/05/2018 00:47

if you have xy chromosomes you are a man. xx chromosomes make you a woman.

people can choose how they want to live as long as it does not impact negatively on others rights, dignity, boundaries.

I feel like me. I am a woman, but not fitting many of the gender stereotypes. still a woman though as I have xx chromosomes.

Let’s label it ‘ladies’ and make it female only. Actual females mind.

gaspingshark do you believe humans can change sex?*

fontofnoknowledge · 21/05/2018 07:38

I have never before been involved in this debate. Have absolutely no fucking idea what a terf or sit (?) stands for and care even less. I am just incredulous that this is even a debate.

You cannot change sex ! It's a part that those arguing about it seem to ignore. You are born with either male or female chromosomes. How can this fact be up for debate ?

If you want to dress up as a man or woman, that is your own decision. Want to live a cross gendered life ? Fill your boots. Each to your own.
What you can't do is be a woman or a man when you're not ! . Just saying something does not make it fact. It makes you deluded. !

Men spaces for men. Women's spaces for women. 'Unisex' spaces for those who aren't fussed and let individuals decide.
So I (an actual woman) can go to the toilet and decide if I want to share facilities with a woman with a penis or not) .

GladAllOver · 21/05/2018 08:55

Let's have three spaces.
Label them XX, XY, and ZZ.
Job done.

Scientifically the biology is still a work in progress. We DON’T know everything currently. Therefore to be so adamant that the biology is indisputable fact is far too simplistic and actually incorrect .

I am a scientist. Firstly, do you understand that that’s an OP-ed piece, not a review/primary piece of literature?

No scientist ever says we know everything. What they say is that this is the state of play at the moment and there are plenty of things we are very certain of. The way sex is determined in humans is one of those things. We can describe, in molecular detail, in some organisms literally cell by cell, what happens as a male organism develops and what happens when a female one does.

So no, the science says that sex is immutable and a binary. If you discover otherwise do let us know and you’ll be up for a Nobel.

Strongmummy · 21/05/2018 10:29

My sister is a geneticist and is more broad minded.

If the scientific community is so sure of the binary, why are they still investigating trans gender and genetic links? There’d be no point.

Metoodear · 21/05/2018 10:34

The reason why they don’t want it because they know that 99% of women would choose not to share a space with them

GaspingShark · 21/05/2018 10:43

gaspingshark do you believe humans can change sex? As a rule no, not literally, and most trans people do know this, it's not the point. The point is:

Scientifically the biology is still a work in progress. We DON’T know everything currently. Therefore to be so adamant that the biology is indisputable fact is far too simplistic and actually incorrect.

To say transwomen aren't women might be akin to saying anal sex isn't sexual intercourse because it's not designed for procreation.

drspouse · 21/05/2018 10:47

If the scientific community is so sure of the binary, why are they still investigating trans gender and genetic links? There’d be no point.

For the same reason people investigate the genetic links to ASD, anorexia, depression etc etc. If someone has a distressing condition then it's helpful to know what causes it, and whether some of that cause is genetic.

Ereshkigal · 21/05/2018 10:54

Lol no.

Most of them don't think in the same kind of nonsensical pomo queer theory way as you. They are interested in whether the psychological condition gender dysphoria is acquired or innate.

Bowlofbabelfish · 21/05/2018 11:03

We are sure of the binary. We always investigate links to any psychological body dydphoria disorder, such as anorexia, body dysmorphic disorder or gender dysphoria. Overlaps with other psychological disorders can provide insights into treatment.

The delusion! Biology is not a work in progress, nothing has changed since we were neanderthals. There are still men and there are still women and they can't change from one to another. This is an indisputable fact.

MipMipMip · 21/05/2018 11:07

To the PP who said that trans would be outted by their using the mixed toilets: don't be silly. I am sure that you and their other trans allies would also be using it to show that it is for everyone and give them support. They can easily claim that they are doing the same, in the very unlikely event that anyone even notices. Meanwhile we get to use the ladies.

HerFemaleness · 21/05/2018 11:11

Yet if I asked you how babies are made you would give an explanation based on a binary understanding of sex.

Strongmummy · 21/05/2018 11:11

look, it is fact that some people feel they have been assigned the wrong sex. They are born men, but know they are women. It is not clear scientifically why this is. WHY it is. Not just how to treat it but WHY it is. That is fact. Scientifically we don’t know. That is fact. I’d pretty much wager that biology is involved and it isn’t just some delusion or social construct on behalf of the trans individual.

GaspingShark · 21/05/2018 11:15

Oh my days Grin Yet another well-informed MNer weighing in.
