AIBU to think that anyone who hears Laurel is playing a practical joke? It's definitely yanny!

It's clearly Yanny.

I have to say I was quite surprised by how clearly I heard Yanny being said. I was expecting something a little less clear cut. HTF are people hearing Laurel?

FranticallyPeaceful · 16/05/2018 22:41

I hear yanny, clear as day, yet my kids hear laurel 🤔

StarbucksSmarterSister · 16/05/2018 22:43

Laurel - and I've tried about 8 times. How can it be Yanny?

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 16/05/2018 22:47

And those trainers are pale pink @Walkerbean16

ToadsforJustice · 16/05/2018 22:48

Laurel - it's a deep mans voice. Very clear.

Dogsmom · 16/05/2018 22:48

ToadsforJustice · 16/05/2018 22:48

zukiecat · 16/05/2018 22:49

LittleRen · 16/05/2018 22:56

snewname · 16/05/2018 22:59

It's laurel. And a grey trainer with mint laces.

Is there a correlation between those who see a particular colour of dress and the colour of the trainers?
I see green trainers and blue dress.

Madhairday · 16/05/2018 22:59

It's Laurel, at whatever volume and wahtever speakers! How the heck could it be Yanny? Confused

LittleRen · 16/05/2018 23:00

Has everyone tried it with each ear??

Muddlingalongalone · 16/05/2018 23:01

Can only hear Laurel

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 16/05/2018 23:03

Yammy for me, not yanny.

Nanny0gg · 16/05/2018 23:03

Laurel

Nanny0gg · 16/05/2018 23:04

Listened on my PC if that makes a difference.

If we all hear something different, how do we ever manage to communicate?

fullponty · 16/05/2018 23:04

I can only hear Laurel.

DH without any prompting on the words heard yanny. What's interesting is that he has hearing loss

HappyLollipop · 16/05/2018 23:05

Definitely hear yanny, I have no idea how people are hearing laurel!

SageYourResoluteOracle · 16/05/2018 23:06

I could only hear Laurel! Yay for an audio version of the gold/blue dress!

Gammeldragz · 16/05/2018 23:08

I'm another one that hears neither. More like yeerwy/yearly/yaarwy
I usually hear more high than low frequencies, electrical noises drive me crazy and those cat scarer things.

madhamsters · 16/05/2018 23:11

This morning I only hear laurel in the car but after reading about the sound frequencies I can hear both - weird!

BMW6 · 16/05/2018 23:13

I am 60. When I saw the BBC news report on this earlier I clearly heard Yanny, but on the clicky link above I can only hear Laurel.
Weird.

Hygge · 16/05/2018 23:13

I heard Yorrel.

Hookedoncatnip · 16/05/2018 23:17

Laurel. Can't hear Yanny at all.
