Irony alert: Meghan Markle’s Dad

Sorry, found this hilarious. Meghan Markle’s Dad has staged some pics with the paparizzo to send out a message re his DDs wedding (ie he is going).

This is being reported by the press in a vv ‘tut tut aren’t her family awful’ manner.

Am I alone in finding this hilariously hypocritical? I remember St Diana getting caught in a car with Richard Kay from the Daily Mail and she wrote a book secretly with Daily Express journalist Andrew Morton.

Plus who had those pics front page the day they were taken? That’s right. The Daily Mail!

I am not a Meghan fan at all. But I got up this morning and looked at the papers and felt like I had gone done a rabbit hole when I saw her Das being slated for this supposedly ‘unroyal’ behaviour which is actually the most royal thing in the world ever.

The irony of the Mail being outraged about staged photos, when 90% of the sidebar is made up bollocks about Reality TV people.

I also thought that they’d set him up, because he refused to give an interview.

Question is why does he feel so in need of cash that he would trade on associations with his daughter, whom he is soon to walk down the aisle? He's clearly in need of funds and I agree with a pp that he should have been looked financially.

Still. It's inexcusable. I feel a little bit sorry for MM.

The DM are doing very faux outrage. They're just pissed at being told to stay away. Mr Markle gets to manage his own publicity, how very dare he!

I don't feel sorry for Harry as I think he doesn't give a toss. He's been caught playing strip poker and dressed up as a Nazi and been splashed across the press. It probably just rolls of him now.

I thought it was quite amusing, he's probably got a sense of humour. Is he bringing a suit or is he being kitted out here? Would have thought the latter.

As far as I know, MNrs are usually unanimous in condemning the garbage stories that usually come of his rag, why the sudden change?

1- I wasn't the one that initially said racist. I said it was quite an assumption.

2- Just because some areas are cheaper does not make it okay to make the blanket comment stating that people that are well off wouldn't live in Mexico, especially as that is not true. It implies that Mexico is some kind of slum for the poor, which is rather insulting.

And yes, the comment was "off."

There are certain staged shots that seem fine – like Kelly Brook walking down a street or whatever because you know it’s been organised by Kelly or her publicist and Kelly seems to be in control of her life and her choices.

But I do feel uneasy if I see a staged shot of someone who seems vulnerable like Danniella Westbrook, even although she’s complicit in the photo being taken. I would place Meghan Markle’s Dad in the same category as Danniella in this respect. There just seems to be that whiff of desperation in the shots.

I think if her dad is on his uppers then MM and Prince Harry should support him. It wouldn’t hurt them would it.

Actually I said the comment was quite an assumption. THEN someone else said something about racism. At no point did I "pile in" or say it was racist. The comment was absolutely off. I'm sorry that you're unable to see that.

But you do realise that Kensington Palace have been sending out letters to the press, on Mr Markle’s behalf, telling paps to leave him alone as he wants to guard his privacy?

Do people really believe all the pics of the Middleton family are candid shots? That a paps just happens to walk past Pippa on her bike or Carole shopping?

I do. Because the Middletons have always been rich enough for that sort of money not to be attractive. You’d probably get 2-3k for those pics. Not worth it to them. Like, less than a weeks income.

I don’t reckon they’re taken by Paps, most people with a phone could make a few hundred quid flogging pics of Carole buying baby stuff.

I’m not so sure they would pass on the money to be honest. £2 or £3k is still a lot of money and they are selling party merchandise for a couple of quid per item. Saying that I really like the Middletons and think they have behaved impeccably.

The royal family is one of the most disfunctional families in public. The princes should thank their lucky stars some girl want to marry them. Yes they have money but I dont think I would given the chance.

Well the Queen puts her faith in her, she is one of her advisers and trusted people. The Princes speak highly of her and she falls into line with Royal protocol.

Why any credence was put in what Megan's alcoholic half-Brother had to say, I don't know. Like a typical alcoholic, he blames her for all his problems.

She's been put in a tough position, Weddings do that to many people who come from a split family. But unlike others, they can't elope to a 'destination', which solves the problem.

He led the press on a bit of a dance. I don't think it a worse carry on than Princess Michael of Kent showing the World what a racist she is and so lacking in manners/class, which to be fair, she has never had.

Is Princess Michael racist? I know there was the brooch thing but I genuinely believe she was clueless about it's implications, and I don't think she's very bright in general. These people live in an elite echo chamber where diversity is a word you use or something you associate yourself with when you want to feel charitable or do a good cause. A bit of grace and favour.

I kind of put her in the same bracket as the lovely old lady on my street who insists on calling me and every ethnic person she knows, 'coloured' even though no one's used that word for donkeys now. Racist? Not really. Ignorant? Certainly. Unless there's more stuff.
