To ban this man from my cafe?

Have NC as I've spoken to people in RL about this.

I promise I'm not the poo troll.

There's a man that's been coming in to my cafe every morning for a few weeks now.

He orders a coffee and sits doing work on his laptop at 8.30 when I open up.

Every FUCKING DAY he does a massive shit in the toilet and leaves a mess everywhere. It's utterly disgusting and I obviously have to deal with it. I'm normally there on my own as I don't get many customers at that time of day, but today a lovely woman was in with her baby and went to use the toilet after him.

She obviously didn't use it and I had to profusely apologise. He was the only other person there so it was obviously him. He could hear me talking to her and just sat there, not an ounce of embarrassment. I'm actually getting really anxious about this now and I don't know what to do. It's horrible. It's a horrible way to have to start my day, every day.

I want to ban him but I'm too "nice" and REALLY don't want the confrontation. It feels so awkward.

Help! I don't know what to do.

UserV you think you can smell bullshit?!

OrangeJam · 09/05/2018 23:42

If I put a toilet brush in there - and he used it, which is doubtful - I'd have to buy a new one on a daily basis as it'd be filthy!

You need a loo brush munch as you might not like them. Very few people at going to start cleaning inside a toilet without one.

@UserV he's not coming to my house, it's my cafe.

I've only posted this to get some advice as it's really getting me down. I'm not a confrontational person and this situation is really annoying me.

Oh FGS I'm not asking you to give me your stories about people pooing. If you think I'm a troll report me, MN will confirm that I am not.

But OP he can't clean the toilet without a brush! Do you expect him to use toilet paper and his bare hands to clean your loo? You can buy IKEA brushes for less than a pound, surely that is affordable and can be hidden in a nicer container that can be bleached?

Time4adrink · 09/05/2018 23:50

@UserV one of my DSs friends does this every time he comes over. Within 10 minutes of being in my house he drops a stinky gross turd. His mum says he does this in everyone’s houses - like marking his territory! I have called him out on it (teenager so should be able to sort himself out) but he still does it. I suspect this will be him in a few years...

BigPinkBall · 09/05/2018 23:50

Op, do you have a friend or family member who is quite direct, the sort of person who wouldn’t be afraid to tell him to sling his hook? Could you ask them to be there for back up, I think you need to ban him because he’s obviously upsetting you and you’ll be on edge whenever he comes in.

You can get this www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/small-storage-organisers/bathroom-accessories/tackan-toilet-brush-white-art-40324314/ 39p toilet brush from Ikea, so you could afford to change it on a daily basis, though this isn't exactly an environmentally friendly option. If you don't leave the tools for him to clean up after himself, I don't see how he can do it. Poo-pourri or similar would help with the odour issue.

Recently a workman did a massive poo in my toilet (he had asked if he could use it first). We have lots of problems with drains and the toilet backs up often. This occasion was no exception. He was mortified and I got my drain professionally unblocked as a result!

OrangeJam · 09/05/2018 23:57

@UserV why are you posting on my thread then? Confused

Ok I accept I may need to get a brush, I know he won't use it though. There's no reason why he can't spray and flush, even just to show he's made a bit of an effort. I don't even know how he manages to get so much up the back and right at the top. Eugh sorry. Envy- not envy.

Out of order sign sounds like the best plan- just remove it when he leaves each day.

Eveforever · 10/05/2018 00:02

There are a limited number of options for dealing with this problem. You get a cleaning brush then put up a sign and/or have a word with him, you ban him, or you literally put up with his shit. Which one are you going for?

Whitesea · 10/05/2018 00:02

Its because coffee is a laxative so he has loose stools. Coffee affects me too Blush

UserV · 10/05/2018 00:03

Anyhoo I am bored with this thread now anyway, (and I am fucking tired.)

So I'm off. You will be pleased to know!

imweirdandcool · 10/05/2018 00:04

Lol poo troll
Anyway it is annoying as i work on a reception desk and on every floor (15) there is a toilet but people choose to come down to my reception desk toilet and take a shit so their colleagues wont know they took a shit i bloody do tho!
I would ban him to tbh and tell him why nasty fuckker

Eveforever · 10/05/2018 00:05

I forgot that you could cross your fingers and hope he doesn't come back, but that probably won't work! Or, you could pretend your toilet is permanently out of order, or stop all your customers from using it.
