People who park over the lines in a car park...

... deliberately, so that no one can use the space next to them, should be fined as if they were parked without a ticket Angry

If your car is that fucking precious, get a fucking cab!

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 08/05/2018 12:53

In some car parks you do get fined for that.

SluttyButty · 08/05/2018 12:53

You get fined in our car parks.

daphneduck · 08/05/2018 12:55

I usually find these people drive

Range Rovers

😂😂😂😂😂😂

MrsWembley · 08/05/2018 14:38

Blaa & Slutty, thanks! That does make me feel a little bit better Grin

And yes, I've seen Range Rovers and the like parked badly but usually because their owners can't actually park! But when you get a little sports car or someone's 3 series BMW that will fit easily but is two fucking miles away from true, that is just rudeAngry

I'd go further. Cars parked like this should be removed and not returned to the owner for 7 days.

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 08/05/2018 14:44

I know a female who brags about parking over two spaces in her BMW

InspMorse · 08/05/2018 14:44

I have a small car and if the overhanging car is to the left of me I have been known to park anyway leaving no room for them to get in the drivers side. CF

Hakarl · 08/05/2018 14:47

I'm in a local FB group where people share pictures of badly parked cars and some of the stuff is incredible. I've seen cars taking two disabled spaces (without a badge so they shouldn't even have taken one) and even instances of one car parked evenly over FOUR spaces.

itallhappensforareason · 08/05/2018 14:53

This does annoy me and people shouldn't do it BUT some people should also be more careful when they are opening their car doors; some people just don't give a shit if they hit the car next to them.

RallyAnnie · 08/05/2018 15:14

If you're that worried about your car getting dinged by a door, park in the farthest corner of the car park, or ride a bicycle. Taking up more than one space is hugely entitled behaviour and annoys me no end. Like people who leave supermarket trollies in parking spaces rather than returning them to the trolley park.

SaltireSaltire · 08/05/2018 15:25

Agree how annoying it is that some people open their door right in to the care beside them! often kids are allowed to open rear doors and are too little to understand the damage they can do.

SweetSummerchild · 08/05/2018 15:30

This does annoy me but I can understand why people do it.

There are some car parks - our local Sports Centre springs to mind - where the spaces are ridiculously small. Modern cars seem to get bigger and bigger but parking spaces don’t.

We have an average sized Skoda and when it is parked at the Sports Centre it can often be almost impossible to get in and out the car if someone is parked either side of it. When we had our old car (VW Passat) we came out of our daughter’s swimming lesson to find a scratch all along one side of the car. It looked like it had been done by a jacket or bag strap from someone walking past the car. Our car was parked right in the centre of the bay. It was bloody annoying as we were due to sell the car that week and we had to knock £500 off the price ‘just like that’.

Our other car is a 3-door Golf. The doors are that much bigger than a 5-door car and there is just no way we can park it there and get out the car if someone is parked next to us. We would never take that car there.

bambi2908 · 08/05/2018 19:23

Blush I have to admit I have done this on the rare occasion... but only ever if all the parent and child, or end spaces are taken and I need to get my twins car seats out of the car - I really hate doing it though, I feel really guilty and also try and park as far away from everyone as I can Sad

balsamicbarbara · 08/05/2018 19:24

It's okay if they buy two tickets and so are paying for two spaces.

loveulotslikejellytots · 08/05/2018 19:34

I've been very tempted to do this, mainly in our local Asda. There isn't many p&c spaces so I park further away in the hopes I won't have anyone next to me.

I got the rage the other day Blush came back and a clio (so not a massive Range Rover) was literally 3 inches away from the drivers side. DD's car seat is also on the drivers side. I was about 10 weeks pregnant so I'm blaming hormones. Tried climbing over from the passenger side but couldn't.

So I put my shopping in the boot, took the reg and asked customer services to put an announcement out, their car alarm was going off. I went back to the car, 2 minutes later the driver comes out. I was quite polite considering, but they had no idea, hadn't even looked to see how close they were parked to me. They did apologise. But really! I always check to see how much room I've left behind/in front etc.

So while I'm not agreeing with people that do it, I can see why they would.

I find it more annoying when you think you've found a space in a busy car park but when you get closer you find a ford ka in it GrinGrin

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 08/05/2018 19:34

Take a picture next time & post it on You Park Like A Twat-some very funny accompanying captions on there...

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 08/05/2018 19:40

I did this today, in the last space in the gym because of how the people on either side were parked... when I got back they had left and it just looked like I was a twat. I promise I wasn’t Blush

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 08/05/2018 19:42

They are twonks. Not buying the parent & child space thing for a second, I have a Range Rover and never had a problem getting the babies out. (Unless you try left with an odd space which does indeed make you feel a twat after everyone has left!

Fatted · 08/05/2018 19:42

I don't mind it so much. My car is my pride and joy so I am a bit precious about it and tend to park miles away from anyone else if I'm not parking in P&T.

I get more annoyed by people without kids parking in P&T and the people who don't put their trolley back in the supermarket. Yesterday, I saw some idiot squeezing his Golf into a motorcycle bay just so he didn't have to drive down a level in the multi storey.

willdoitinaminute · 08/05/2018 19:44

I love this carpark it says it all.

People who park over the lines in a car park...
Jamiem80 · 08/05/2018 19:48

Every argument against this can be thrown at people who feel that criminal damage of cars is ok and if you stopped the selfish arrogant people who feel it is ok to damage other people's cars then people wouldn't need to park over multiple spaces. However some people just can't park or drive properly.

WineDrinkerMe · 08/05/2018 19:49

In our local ASDA the spaces between the p&c spaces are massive. So some twats park in them. Which means that it takes away all the additional space for the drivers who are legitimately parked in a parent and child space Angry

I have only ever seen cars without car seats parked in them.

I would park over two spaces if I couldn’t get a p&c space in a car park with tiny spaces. But only if I could park in a quiet part of the car park far away from the door. I’d never do it if the car park was dead busy

I have a baby and a toddler and it is an actual nightmare to return to the car to discover another car parked so close I can’t get one of them into their car seat.

DeathlyPail · 08/05/2018 19:52

Loving that picture

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/05/2018 19:54

This does my head in - I drive a little fiat 500 partially because it's nice and easy to park and will always fit in spaces in even the crappiest car park. But it's like a homing beacon for twats who drive massive cars and can't park - so park next to me and take up their space and all the room in mine!

blaaake · 08/05/2018 19:58

My car doesn't actually fit in a standard parking bay, so if I'm somewhere with smaller spaces I tend to park at the far side of the car park in two spaces.
