People who park over the lines in a car park...

... deliberately, so that no one can use the space next to them, should be fined as if they were parked without a ticket Angry

If your car is that fucking precious, get a fucking cab!

@blaaake I just read back on that Hmm. It’s definitely not standard size... I think it’s probably one of the widest SUVs out there - it’s the same width as my dad’s Range Rover and that’s huge, it’s longer too. I don’t know about you but it’s the length I find more of a problem... the back end of mind is often sticking out I do worry someone will drive into it one day!! I do feel like a bit of a tw*t when I am parked so far out of the back of the bay.

I do agree people who do it in busy supermarkets near the entrances are idiots though.

blaaake · 10/05/2018 18:11

I'm not as bothered by the length as I used to drive a long wheelbase s class, I just can't open the bloody doors it's that wide!

ForalltheSaints · 10/05/2018 18:15

Whilst I think those who do this are wrong, the real issue is the growth of large (usually 4x4) cars.

Higher parking charges should be levied on them, and ideally those with them have to take a separate driving test.

blaaake · 10/05/2018 19:08

Or maybe standard parking spaces should increase in size to accommodate cars that weren't built in the 1970's. Hmm

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 10/05/2018 20:44

Or maybe standard parking spaces should increase in size to accommodate cars that weren't built in the 1970's.

Yeah, let's all have fewer spaces because idiots like you buy cars they can't park.

Greyhorses · 10/05/2018 20:58

Why on earth would you need an extra driving test to drive a 4x4.

It’s exactly the same as any other car to drive Confused

AlonsosLeftPinky · 10/05/2018 21:01

Wow.

ALL cars have increased in size. Parking provision has not.

Even my car which isn't a massive one, which I can drive and park very well, fills the entire space so I have to shimmy around the door to get in and out.

blaaake · 10/05/2018 21:42

@DailyMailReadersAreThick do you read the daily mail? Cause your username would be pretty apt.

netflixandpill · 10/05/2018 21:58

driving test for people driving 4x4 lol

mate if im shit at parking im shit at parking😂😂😂 talk about first world problems

monkeychickenpig · 10/05/2018 22:09

I didn't apply for a blue badge as I was too ill
My husband regularly parked ON the line to deter people from parking beside us so I could get in car without my urine bag getting pulled
I used to resent people who did this
Unless you know their story don't judge
There might not be a blue bay
May have kids
May have mobility problems
Don't judge

monkeychickenpig · 10/05/2018 22:11

Why do a lot of you have issues with big or nice cars it's not attractive to label people especially because of what they do or don't have..

QuestionableMouse · 10/05/2018 22:22

Which of you Q7 driving cunts was parked in two disabled spaces this morning in my doctors? Blonde woman with a face like a slapped arse who told me ever so nicely to fuck off when I brandished a blue badge and asked her to shift.

I drive a car that's on the larger side (Zafira Tourer) and manage!

blaaake · 10/05/2018 22:57

Q7 driving cunts

Nice @QuestionableMouse

Are you the one who works at McDonald's, if I remember correctly?

Tropicana123 · 10/05/2018 23:08

surely can't be as annoying as coming out of a shop or wherever to find a massive ding on ur 'precious' car Confused.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/05/2018 23:27

What fecks me off is when I park neatly (I always seek out a space that is clear and 99% of the time I will want to drive forwards to get out unless I'm putting something in the boot)

I come back to find some twat has parked so close to my door I will struggle to get my head in sideways.

So - do I climb through the passenger door? No. I have a dodgy back at the best of times?
Do I climb through the boo? Again no.
Do I wait till they deem to come back? No could be there all day.

Do I open my door as wide as I can and get in, and if it has to knock against their door , tough . They certainly didn't give ME any thought.
I had this when I was very pg , had to get the driver tannoyed (Tesco carpark) , he gave nil shits at all.

I ould dearly love to write in lipstick Next person you do this too will hopefully werite this message on your bonnet with their key. Ciao

Fozzleyplum · 10/05/2018 23:34

In light of the recent news about recalls, perhaps the BMW drivers who hog 2 spaces are actually being considerate. After all, you wouldn't want your car to get scorched would you?Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/05/2018 23:38

What- you mean those BMW drivers who drive right up my arse when I'm doing 50 in a 50 zone (for shame ) might spontaneously combust?

Or i it just when they're hogging spaces Wink

SimonBridges · 11/05/2018 08:20

I notice the people who are bleating that they have to do it all drive Audis and Range Rovers.

SimonBridges · 11/05/2018 08:22

Oh. And an Audi Q7 is 1.74 meters and my Nissan Note is 1.7 meters.
I don’t think anyone would claim that a Note is so big that they have to park over two bays.
If 4 centimetres is causing you that much trouble perhaps you shouldn’t be driving

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 11/05/2018 08:27

I drive an X5 and have never parked like a prick. All the 4x4 bashers need to step back and breathe for a minute before hating people they've never met based on what they drive.

I also don't drive like a prick, either. I bought my car based solely on the fact that it was pretty and could fit the DCs cricket, rugby and judo shite in the boot.

blaaake · 11/05/2018 08:37

@SimonBridges darling, if you have a little scroll up the thread you'll see I posted a picture with the dimensions. Q7 is 2.2 metres wide. But don't let the facts get in the way of your jealousy Wink

AlpacaLypse · 11/05/2018 08:49

I had no compunction in parking in P and C spaces once I got past 30 weeks with twins. No way could I shimmy into my Polo unless the door was 100% open. No one ever had a go at me about it.

sundowners · 11/05/2018 09:02

We have a SQ5 - are thinking about Q7 in not too distant future if we had 3rd DC but your stories re. parking this tank sounds like a nightmare and are seriously making me reconsider??!

MrsWembley · 11/05/2018 09:22

Parking is one of the things I consider when buying a car.

Just saying...
