They don't want us to leave. We don't want to leave. So what could Macron'n'Merkel offer us so we can say "go on, we'll stay together for the sake of the kids".

Not much longer to go now til we leave the EU!

Sucks for you Remoaners! Grin

A4710Rider · 08/05/2018 18:19

You want the EU to sort out a deal, while demanding UK autonomy

Show me where I said that?

You have no understanding of NIrish/Irish/British politics over the last 800 years and can’t understand why there’s an issue

I am well versed in Irish history. You willfully misunderstood my post.

You think the EU should do as they’re told by the people who’ve roundly rejected them because we said so

Show me where I've said that.

Smeddum · 08/05/2018 18:21

Show me where I said that?

You voted leave to avoid being governed by Brussels no? So wanting the UK government to have control over their own decisions?
Tis a bit rich then expecting the EU to cooperate or come up with plans!

You are absolutely not well versed in Irish history.

Metoodear · 08/05/2018 18:21

I don’t see the issue with saying to people you have freedom to work we’re you like but you can’t rely on your host country to feed, and house you

If you can’t afford to do those basic things better you stay at home

Smeddum · 08/05/2018 18:21

Show me where I've said that

By whinging that they’re not sorting out a deal!

So what are your criteria for being British? Because I thought being born here covered it nicely. You know, what with that making you British and all.

A4710Rider · 08/05/2018 18:23

By whinging that they’re not sorting out a deal!

I didn't say that either

Here's a tip, if you're going to willfully misrepresent someone, you will get pulled up on it and probably made to look a bit silly.

A4710Rider · 08/05/2018 18:23

Oh and that was really really fucking racist by the way

Eh?

I was born in Cyprus, I'm not Cypriot.

Are you ill?

Allreadygone · 08/05/2018 18:24

@Twisto
If the 'vote' had been 3 way, In, out or In with reforms and there had been far more properly evaluated information before the vote then I would have been quite confident that 'In with reforms' would have been a pretty clear winner. Voting SHOULD have been compulsory.
Apart from 'stereotypical nonsense' (tabloid fed) most Europeans do not 'hate' the UK, certainly not those I have met. Had Mr Cameron hung fire a while and garnered greater support from other EU countries that are not over happy with the running of the EU, Europe could have been on the way to a much better place WITH the UK.
Do you think these new trade deals (that haven't been announced yet) will go through with other countries if the UK seriously attempts to abandon paying the 'divorce bill'? Have you never checked your credit ratings?

Smeddum · 08/05/2018 18:25

They said the EU should be helping to come up with a suggestion, get around the table and talk about things

You agreed with this. So who looks fucking silly now?

jugglingsatsumas · 08/05/2018 18:25

...so what suggestions have they made?

Leavers vote out as fed up of Brussels "interfering" and then complain that Brussels isn't interfering. You couldn't make this up.

I came on this thread wanting to understand from Leave voters POV. A couple have explained, and although I politically disagree, I can understand their views.

But I’m afraid the majority have just confirmed my suspicions.

It's quite simple folks. There is a difficult problem to overcome, we need everyone concerned to discuss it and come up with a solution that's beneficial to everyone otherwise it could be damaging to everyone...

But saying that somehow makes me a racist?

jugglingsatsumas · 08/05/2018 18:30

You know perfectly well what it was that you said that sounded racist and it wasn't that. Hmm

A4710Rider · 08/05/2018 18:30

Note to self;

Don't get involved with Brexit threads. Most of the posters are either A. Hysterical or B. Hysterical.

I have a plane to catch. Toodles.

Smeddum · 08/05/2018 18:30

No, the UK government caused this. The UK electorate majority caused it. It’s up to them to fix it. Why is that hard to understand? In between reporting all my posts.

IronMansIronButt · 08/05/2018 18:30

You caused the problem. You caused problems for lots of people. You don;t get to demand they help you overcome them to be beneficial to you. They are rightly focused on fixing the problems you caused for them, not helping you with the mess you created for yourself.

You're right, it is very simple. And yet you still don't understand thing one.

Metoodear · 08/05/2018 18:31

A4710Rider I wasn’t talking about the ones here I was talking about the ones in Germany I think her letting thousands of migrants in

In a unmanaged fashion has roundly failed

Then trying to bully other eu counties to do the same as to not look so foolish

People in the uk are over being managed by Germany we have our own idiots to rule over us 😬

time4chocolate · 08/05/2018 18:31

Definitely. It was things like Merkel throwing open the doors to Europe that made the difference. If she hadn't of done that, we wouldn't be having this conversation

This with bells on buck stops there as far as i’m concerned. Ill thought out and back firing spectacularly. Well done

Heyduggeesflipflop · 08/05/2018 18:36

Smeddum - we have all tried but, alas, you won’t listen. In any case, we (leavers) have already won the initiative so it’s a moot point really

There are none so blind as those that do not see...

In any event I’m done with this thread. It’s been fun - rest assured I will have champagne and fireworks ready to go on Brexit eve. 17 million other ‘hateful and bigoted’ Britons will do likewise. Hopefully the noise won’t keep you up.

Metoodear · 08/05/2018 18:36

IronMansIronButt

I think you find that was the eu who caused
This

Allowing counties who didn’t meet the fiscal test to join and then hiring dodgey bankers to make it fit

Allowing counties who socially don’t meet the standards

Trying to start a power grab
Being un democratic
Not being fiscally sound as a orgnisation but asking other countries to be

Also with the history all counties have with Europe it was never going to work haveing Germany defacto in charge

They started it poorly thought out and excuted
