So we were driving home from our bank holiday Monday trip out today and drove past the tail end of the marathon. I was suddenly overcome with emotion and started crying all all the runners 😂 (p.s I am pregnant so I have an excuse - unlike Vatican wailer 😂😂😂😂)

Getting a lift to work with DH one morning and we were stuck in traffic on the motorway. There were cars all the way down a slip road next to us, slowly filtering in one at a time. I got all emotional at all the people travelling to work in the same direction and helping the other drivers filter on to the motorway. Got tipped over the edge when the driver DH let in flashed his hazards and gave him a wave in his mirror. Full on ugly faced crying as I sobbed “He’s so grateful”. Pregnant, obviously. I’d already been in tears once that morning when DH said he would drop me off at work as I’d been throwing up and didn’t think I could drive. He probably regretted it quite quickly poor soul

Oh and like a PP at the film a little princess when she’s screaming for her dad and he doesn’t remember her. Went to the cinema to see it as a child with my dad. It was the first time I ever cried at a film and I remember seeing him crying too

ALittleAubergine · 12/05/2018 21:42

When pregnant, I cried at a carpet pattern... I thought it was such an emotional and touching pattern... Blue squares.

Dropdeadfredra · 12/05/2018 21:45

The cafe I got my chicken and bacon ciabatta at every morning didn't have any. I stood at the counter and cried. I was suffering from morning sickness and it was the only thing I could stomach. 😶

GingerLiberalFeminist · 12/05/2018 21:52

So I read these and recognise so very many as having done that.
The problem is, I'm not pregnant and have never been! I'm just clearly hysterical ^^
I cried at Ross and Rachel's first kiss because they got to be happy for a brief moment in time. That was just the start!

EdensMummy16 · 12/05/2018 21:54

My wife cried at Love Island (Don't judge us) when one half of a couple went home and the other was left in the house.
I don't think I could ever surpass that...

eversoslightlytired · 12/05/2018 22:08

Outing myself but I cried when going through chemo and my work called me and told me not to go in because there was lots of D&V going round. Felt like I had been uninvited to a party when in reality they were looking out for me.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 12/05/2018 22:09

The things that unfailingly make me cry are:

  1. Dad's Army - just the thought of the real Home Guard being just as crap but still prepared to defend England with garden tools if need be
  2. Rolf Harris's Two Little Boys - not because of Rolf's revoltingness but because of the story. Thankfully May never hear it again
  3. The song 'Nana Was a Suffragette'. Fuck knows why.
  4. When the Dad goes on the bus back to work in Billy Elliott, knowing that he's breaking the strike
  5. Any scene in any film where the armies are lined up ready for battle

Shit. Crying now at the thought of all the nobility and sacrifice. I am a total sap.

MrsPreston11 · 12/05/2018 22:09

I was pregnant.

There was some dirt (leftover food spill, not a lot of it) on a restaurant table.

I was so upset we had to leave.

Barbaro · 12/05/2018 22:10

When my partner bought me frankie boyle tickers after telling me we couldn't afford them. He just wanted to surprise me as I asked if we could go, love frankie boyle and desperately want to see him live. So yeah that's the most weird for me. Grin

billyfivebellies · 12/05/2018 22:10

Lassie

fairypuff · 12/05/2018 22:12

I think a lot of these are fairly normal but some true crackers which restore my faith in myself as not being entirely cuckoo! Love the lamb and mint sandwich one!

My worst one was when heavily pregnant (surprise surprise!) and a programme came on about Jeremy Beadle. My brain forgot completely that he had died a couple of years previously and I was properly inconsolable to find out that he had died! I mean, Jeremy Beadle FFS??!!

ChinkChink · 12/05/2018 22:13

Debbie McGee's Argentine Tango on Strictly.

I know. I'm quite normal otherwise.

ChristmasFluff · 12/05/2018 22:14

The pea that couldn't get into the Birds Eye Country Club. As if I'd ever buy a Birds Eye product again. Elitist fuckers.

BELLAARA · 12/05/2018 22:15

As I was driving, a fire engine came whizzing along with its blue lights, and everyone moved out of the way beautifully and quickly, usually not the case in my experience. I was choked at the thought of people pulling together, to assist someone in need (in a convoluted way).

BELLAARA · 12/05/2018 22:19

Oh @ElizabethinherGermanGarden, two little boys makes me sob.

CoolAsACourgette · 12/05/2018 22:25

When I read an article about retired men picking up golf balls before dawn at a golf club for extra cash. I felt they deserved to rest.

mable25 · 13/05/2018 08:08

Reading this thread has made me sob 😭
