So we were driving home from our bank holiday Monday trip out today and drove past the tail end of the marathon. I was suddenly overcome with emotion and started crying all all the runners 😂 (p.s I am pregnant so I have an excuse - unlike Vatican wailer 😂😂😂😂)

boss baby ( i was pregnant) I'm not any more and still cry at the ending every time the kids watch it

Outnotdown · 07/05/2018 23:00

This thread makes me feel normal! Or slightly less weird, at least.

I cry at:

people moving aside for ambulances

O Holy Night

Stranger Things on Netflix, 11 (the character) reminds me of my 5 year old son, they have the same intense look when they're concentrating

I cried when I found out I was having a c section on my third and last pregnancy, because I had gotten such a buzz out of labour on my first two, and realised that I would never have it again

Also, Million Dollar Baby, God that film, I've never forgiven it. I thought it was going to be like Rocky, but with a woman. Hysterical, I was.

loudaloneknows · 07/05/2018 23:17

Nellie the Elephant. Gets me every time.

LondonStill83 · 07/05/2018 23:19

I always cry at parades. I have no idea why. Communal joy and the excitement of the little faces? I hate going to them now!

GeordieGirl233 · 07/05/2018 23:30

I cried my eyes out at a Christmas advert when Tatty Teddy was climbing up the banister to put a star on top of the tree. He was just so so cute it broke my heart. I'm not pregnant I'm just a twat!

UpperWallop · 07/05/2018 23:31

A chicken dying. I don't know the chicken or it's owner but I was in floods of tears about the poor little mite and it's heartbroken owner.

2Sailors1BabyComing · 07/05/2018 23:34

Also pregnant, currently it's the flash advert with the singing dog. Don't know why. I think I'm sad I'll never have a singing animal. Ditto with the three puggerfly. Go figure.

MarieVanGoethem · 07/05/2018 23:40

I once cried at blossom falling off a tree because it reminded me of the fact life is fragile, everyone I love will die, & I'm powerless to stop it.

I was on a dose of prednisolone far too high for my weight to cope with & it quite literally went to my head. I could breathe, but the whole Basic Functioning thing wasn't really working. That said, I'd rather oral steroids make me depressed than near-psychotic, which is the fun side-effect someone I knew when I was younger experienced...

SchrodingersCatepillar · 07/05/2018 23:41

When I was pregnant I burst into tears at waitrose because the man queuing in front of me was buying a ready meal for one and one of those miniature bottles of wine and It seemed so lonely.

Pigletthedog · 07/05/2018 23:42

During my last pregnancy I actually sobbed my heart out whilst on holiday over the Dairylea on brown toast if made for my lunch. No idea why. Makes me laugh now

scurryfunge · 07/05/2018 23:53

I cry at Greyfriars Bobby, Lassie and Bambi. I also remember a colleague admitting the only time he'd cried was when he wiped out a mother duck and her ducklings on a blue light run when he'd attended countless human fatalities on the road in his career.

Whyarealltheusernamestaken · 07/05/2018 23:57

Futurama - Seymour 😢

SoxonFeet · 08/05/2018 00:07

I recently cried my eyes out while sitting in the cinema, watching the adverts, waiting for the movie to start. As a family we had endured a horrible time and it was the small act of finally giving the DC’s a window of fun for a couple of hours. Both the guilt of what we’d had to endure and the fact that we got through it had me sobbing through adverts for Coca Cola! Luckily it was dark or the kids would’ve thought I’d lost my damn mind.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 08/05/2018 00:26

I cry when people sing me happy birthday i have no idea why!? Also i cried the other week because my 3 yr old cried when we sang him happy birthday hahaha

Babyiwantabump · 08/05/2018 00:33

District 9. Full on snotty hysterical sons!

Babyiwantabump · 08/05/2018 00:33

David Frost dying. I mean, I’m sure it was very sad for his family and friends, but I had absolutely zero personal attachment to him.

I love the poster crying at the Lonely Island video Grin

PosyFossilsShoes · 08/05/2018 01:09

This is how I knew I was pregnant. I cried at an episode of Traffic Cops. Blush

It's not exactly like I'm a stoic either, I cry seeing ordinary people achieve sporting goals. I can't watch the London Marathon without blubbing.

I am also now unable to hear the In The Night Garden theme without crying after reading a story about a woman whose toddler DD died and they used the ITNG music for her funeral because the little one had loved it and for the "sailing into the night" theme. Welling up just thinking about it.

(sorry to everyone who is now tearful)

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 08/05/2018 01:47

The theme tune to 64 zoo lane gets me everytime. It just reminds me of being on my first maternity leave and how sad I was to go back to work.

Sashkin · 08/05/2018 01:51

I had a dream once about a kitten that drowned itself in a bucket because it had got itself into debt. It was a really upsetting dream Confused

NoSleepNever · 08/05/2018 02:12

Nosleepmakesmetired Gardians of the Galaxy made me cry too. Admittedly I was pregnant but DH loves to wait for the post credits on marvel films and I was sitting there still crying when the lights came up. I also cried when they were horrible to little Groot, I think my mothering instincts had kicked in.

adayatthebeach · 08/05/2018 02:56

A museum had a Vincent Van Gogh exhibit. I was enjoying it till I saw one of his self portraits and I burst out crying! Confused I’m a calm and rarely emotional person.

Bloodybridget · 08/05/2018 03:12

We were walking in the mountains the other day which naturally made me think of the Trapp family escaping from the Nazis at the end of TSOM; then I thought of the Captain choking up while singing Edelweiss at the concert (gulp) and Maria and the children coming to sing with him (sniff) and then all the audience joining in (waaah)!

DwangelaForever · 08/05/2018 08:01

Yes to sporting event winners and people singing in choirs 🙈🙈

I've also been known to cry at Carl Frampton walking into the boxing ring 😂😂 (maybe cause he's a local lad done good I don't know?)
