These swimsuits seem popular all of a sudden, and women have no problem getting their bums out at swimming pools or public beaches.

I personally think they're too much and I don't want to see anyone's bum cheeks. I probably sound jealous or like an old lady, but even if I had the body of a supermodel I wouldn't wear it. I feel embarrassed with a small hint of cleavage!

They're also not very flattering, even on the most attractive bodies. I just think they look cheap and tacky and I wonder when it became acceptable to wear something so revealing in public. AIBU?

You need to go to Copacabana Beach, Rio. They all wear them there and they look absolutely beautiful and peachy
@Roussette We were on Ipanema Beach a few years ago and, in a high cut, halter necked one piece , I have never felt more overdressed in my life ! Every woman, of whatever physical type or age was wearing them and looked relaxed and happy in the sun. My husband’s eyes were swivelling behind his sunglasses .

@Bugjune, I don't generally shit in public, out of anywhere. There's a big difference between wearing a thong on the beach and shitting on the beach. I can't say know anyone who would actually be doing that.
