Is this weird behaviour on the underground?

I promise I’ve not lead a sheltered life Grin. I don’t live in London but have been there numerous times and always use the underground.

Today a girl stood next to me and started swinging around the pole (like a pole dancer) and then stopped and started doing squats and lunges whilst holding the pole.

I’ve used to get public transport every day when I lived in LA so I have seen some sights. But that’s odd right?

How am I clutching my pearls?

Confused

Yes that was the intention Bonny but you know ...

I was at a gathering in London today and someone I know told a story about their tube journey, which involved squatting around the pole.

Either this strange person is an acquaintance of mine or there’s more than one of them at it.

Passmethecrisps · 05/05/2018 21:45

Honestly op I would move on. What a load of shite this thread has turned in to. People falling over themselves to prove how utterly unbothered by this they would be.

Battleax · 05/05/2018 21:46

Ooo it’s the battle of the bitches 🤗

Someone wake Reddit up.

Mooey89 · 05/05/2018 21:48

@thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter
I’m a social worker 🙈
This is purely an office based pastime though, I’d get sacked if I did it with clients!

Passmethecrisps sadly you’re right.

PLEASE STOP POSTING ANYMORE LIGHTHEARTED STORIES ON THIS THREAD.

THE THREAD IS NOW DEAD. RIP.

Peace out bitches Wink

(Thanks to the lovely people who commented like a ... normal human being. Let the fun suckers bitch to themselves, it’s obviously making them feel better for some sad reason)

OP posts:
Battleax · 05/05/2018 21:52

You wouldn’t get pole dancing on the Central Line Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 05/05/2018 21:53

Maybe it's a new Thing Dafspunk?

MrsCatE · 05/05/2018 21:54

OP. Not sure how this post has gone pear shaped. No idea how anyone has the space to twirl around on LU during the times specified. Always madly busy.

RoseWhiteTips · 05/05/2018 22:05

A post has been deleted. What did I say?

RoseWhiteTips · 05/05/2018 22:06

This was a fun thread. Odd behaviour spoilt it.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 05/05/2018 22:20

@Mooey89 - I imagine it wouldn’t be terribly professional! Grin I must admit many a time I’ve sat at work and done my pelvic floor exercises after being reminded by appearance of the poster whose name is something like ‘dontforgettodoyourpelvicfloor’ on a thread (of course only after reading MN during lunch break Wink)

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 06/05/2018 00:19

Sad you have to put an OP about someone doing their own thing while going about your daily life.
Doing their own thing? The nutter was pole dancing on the bloody tube Grin
It's not the OP that is sad, it's the attention-seeking-pole-dancing/hula hooping-ooh-look-at-me types and the miserable bitches that have brought down this thread Grin

Herbalteahippie · 06/05/2018 00:26

I always do that on the underground. Lighten up maaaan

OutsideContextProblem · 06/05/2018 00:29

If it’s not The Disco Bunny. I’m not blinking at it. Poles and rails are always a challenge to some people.

DextroDependant · 06/05/2018 00:38

Have I stepped into the twilight zone.....

ERM OP yes that is weird behaviour.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 06/05/2018 06:24

Outside I'm so glad I moved out of Streatham! 😂

PhaedrasChocolate · 06/05/2018 06:32

This is one weird thread.

It was just a social commentary type of thread, like hundreds of others. Couple of posters on here need to have a check and see if their HRT patch has fallen off.

OP once I sat opposite a man on the tube whose hands were covered in blood. I have never studied the floor so intently.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 06/05/2018 06:45

Phaedras that would have totally freaked me out!

borntobequiet · 06/05/2018 07:04

Three times recently people have offered me seats on the Tube. I’m in my 60s but am fit and healthy and would never expect to be offered a seat. This strikes me as much stranger than pole practice.

NotARegularPenguin · 06/05/2018 07:25

Could have been worse, you could have seen the Moxi skate team roller skating on the tube, inc pole dancing on skates.

Oddest thing I ever saw was a man in a tiger costume who chased me up the escalator in kings cross growling at me, got in front of me and then tried to prevent me getting off the top of the escalator. Then kept randomly lunging at me on the concourse at the train station for the next 30 mins!

PanPanPanPing · 06/05/2018 08:11

I think TigerMan wins, it makes pole dancing on the tube sound rather tame in comparison Grin

I was once on the tube in the middle of the day on a weekday, so it wasn't that busy. I was sitting reasonably close to the big gangway near the doors and there was a young guy standing in the gangway by himself. He had headphones on and was obviously lost in his own world of whatever he was listening to. Suddenly he started practising some dance moves, including theatrical arm gestures. I caught the eye of the guy sitting opposite me and we exchanged amused smiles. DancingGuy carried on completely oblivious to the rest of us trying not to giggle. Mind you, we were between Leicester Square and Covent Garden!

fiorentina · 06/05/2018 08:14

Wish there was more of this type of behaviour on the waterloo and City line to be honest, it’s so dull..
