Is this weird behaviour on the underground?

I promise I’ve not lead a sheltered life Grin. I don’t live in London but have been there numerous times and always use the underground.

Today a girl stood next to me and started swinging around the pole (like a pole dancer) and then stopped and started doing squats and lunges whilst holding the pole.

I’ve used to get public transport every day when I lived in LA so I have seen some sights. But that’s odd right?

Maybe she was practicing what she learnt in her classes. I had to go to London for the day recently. It just made me realise where I live is so boring and normal.

NotTakenUsername · 05/05/2018 20:55

It was the obviously that clinched it for you!

HTH.

I didn’t say “obviously” in my post...

NotTakenUsername · 05/05/2018 20:57

Fortheloveofbutter · 05/05/2018 20:59

God who pissed on your chips? I just found it a bit of a pointless Aibu. Didn’t get that it was meant to be totes hilair. And you really seem like an aggressive little sausage with all your weird grimacy Grin faces and Stars.

Tinkobell · 05/05/2018 21:00

Was she really good on the pole? I've always wanted to have a crack at that but need to lose a stone or two first. 😬

ProudPearlClutcher · 05/05/2018 21:01

Think your username says it all Pearl

Well tbh, you’re the one posting stories about some random woman on the tube... I probably would have shrugged my shoulders, not started a thread online so I could have a big laugh about it.

Depends on the time of day.

9pm onwards - normal.

9am - weird.

RoseWhiteTips · 05/05/2018 21:03

I think this is a great thread!Flowers

ProudPearlClutcher · 05/05/2018 21:04

Sorry @rose. “Some woman on the tube”. Better?

DalmatianDots · 05/05/2018 21:04

Wow. I have never seen a thread kick off for less reason.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 05/05/2018 21:04

This is unusual - I travel in London all the time and have seen weird stuff but never this. So, on the basis of my own experience, I wouldn’t class it as not typical of London but she could probably get away with it more here (because London is so culturally and socially diverse) than in many other cities.

ProudPearlClutcher · 05/05/2018 21:05

Ah yes I imagine this is exactly your cup of tea @rose. I remember you from another thread and oh my!

VladmirsPoutine · 05/05/2018 21:05

If RWT thinks this is a great thread then I have it on good authority it probably isn't. Have fun with the bun fights all Wine

Passmethecrisps · 05/05/2018 21:05

Christ on a trike what is wrong with this place tonight? People have properly got the arse on.

Normal service might be

Op: I saw this wacky thing today but I am not from these here parts. Is it normal?

well round my way that would be quite normal. Here is an amusing story . . .
those are both amusing stories. If I hadn’t found them amusing I might simply have loved on to another thread without feeling the need to comment. But I am amused and would like to add my own story of public transport

And so on.

PlatypusPie · 05/05/2018 21:06

It’s not mandatory but neither is it too extraordinary. I feel the urge to tap dance when I am alone in a lift - maybe she goes to classes, saw a nice strong pole in a clear space ( don’t try it on the 7.30 am Mon-Fri) and couldn’t help, herself. Or had overdone the Pinot in the sunshine.

OP is quite entitled to post about whatever she wants.

All this eye rolling business is tedious. Don't like it? Read another thread.

RoseWhiteTips · 05/05/2018 21:10

Sorry @rose. “Some woman on the tube”. Better?

Much better @pearl

Of course it's not everyday occurrence on the Tube, there's usually no room to swing a cat, let alone a women a pole.

Best thing is to ignore. She'll soon wilt and give up.
