I don't know about you, but since the instamums posts I have really noticed the #AD on posts, and to be honest I had no idea I was so gullible. I loved the threads regards instamums and really think MN made a small change, well done us

Another laugh would be that the expensive looking handbag and clothes have all been tagged in NB's protest photo. One should never miss an opportunity to tag a brand. Wink

It's all been a storm in a teacup, really. The Scamp and Dude post calling out Asda was far more widely shared

Stop trying to make #dearmumsnet happen. It's not going to happen!

'Words by mamabearofone' has most definitely been added to NB's post hours after the post was originally made.

Maybe we need to start a plagiarism awareness campaign??

CanIhavedessertfirst · 06/05/2018 01:24

In a total topic change, but still on the subject of #AD does anyone else assume that the item being advertised is probably a load of old shit and actually make you less inclined to buy it? I've had to unfollow a lot of people - not just instamums - because there are only so many times I can see a shark vacuum and a 3 day juice cleanse

Raffish · 06/05/2018 01:25

I've been thinking, and I've decided I need to be fearless and say something no one else is saying:

We need to start a plagiarism awareness campaign.
I'm calling it #dearplagiarisers

When I see travel tagged with #AD or 'guest of' I tend to assume it's not really good, because the better accommodation or tours can rely on word of mouth or genuine TripAdvisor reviews.

I'd love to see honest travel reviews tagged with #withoutfearorfavour - and I wouldn't care if the reviewer had received it all for free as long as the review was genuine.

The Sunday newspapers used to review accommodation in this way. It was good feedback for travellers and the hosts.

CookieAngelPants · 06/05/2018 06:54

I think we need to make it wider reaching...

#DearInternet - stop allowing people to be mean on you.

@mumsnet please don't lower yourself by responding to this attention seeking 'campaign' - you can see how much support it's getting, v. low engagement and shares. Most people don't want to touch it with a barge pole as they know it's utter tosh.

MrsJamin · 06/05/2018 06:59

It's just embarrassing, they are becoming the bullies now! What's with the "F**K MUMSNET" comments? Did they come on to AIBU and ask if Coca-Cola was OK in a baby's bottle?! I don't get it and I don't see people not getting good advice on mumsnet.

NovichoksAway · 06/05/2018 07:39

I also think ‘words by mamabearofone’ have been added, and she has been freshly tagged on NBs post. Mama bear has put up a story saying how excited she is because MOD has just started following her. It’s pretty astonishing that anyone who makes their business out of microblogging on Instagram would use the words of someone else without crediting them. That’s really bad form. The whole thing is embarrassing.

HolyMountain · 06/05/2018 07:55

Good fucking God, NB is just an attention seeking woman who wants to be in the Instagram top dog clique.

That photo of her posing on the steps is hilariousGrin. Did she put #ad or did she pay for her own stuff?

....and attempting to take credit for others words is contemptible.

PavlovaPrincess · 06/05/2018 07:55

This is my favourite comment out of all them and just about sums it up. 'MN is terrible and I've come to that conclusion without ever visiting the place' Grin

PavlovaPrincess · 06/05/2018 08:04

Wonder how long NB will be sitting on those steps waiting for a response from MNHQ? It's actually quite arrogant of her. (Don't you know who I am? I'm a lower echelon Instagram Influencer!!!)

Half the people who actually use this site can't get a response out of them most of the time, so I reckon she'll be sitting there for a while yet.

Goingovertosusanshouse · 06/05/2018 08:07

Well now that’s pretty embarrassing isn’t it! The words being credited to someone else have most certainly appeared afterwards. I can’t quite believe all of this.
I honestly have not seen this bloody bullying they are going on about. I have seen women with differing opinions and women with the freedom to make those opinions clear, something that doesn’t seem to be allowed on instagram. Natasha even tried to say that these threads were cyber bullying!

langkaw · 06/05/2018 08:16

I love it that she's staging a sit on. On some steps. Proper hard hitting campaigner. My daughter used to do this when she was three and didn't want to go to bed. I want her to get in a tree for the next pic like what swampy did in the 90s. There's so much potential for #protest

NovichoksAway · 06/05/2018 08:16

Awkward

#AD
langkaw · 06/05/2018 08:18

She needs to use this rhetoric for her #banmeanmamas campaign. It needs to go global. Mamas need to nurture mamas and make them blossom.

HolyMountain · 06/05/2018 08:20

To say our forum is ‘bullying’ makes a mockery of what some people actually go through when they are bullied in the proper definition of the word.

There are wankers on here who post offensive comments, there are those who don’t offer comforting pleasant words but that isn’t bullying.

langkaw · 06/05/2018 08:25

'Amazing that you are doing this. Well done' says one of the comments.

Eh?

Using the wrong word to describe people who discuss stuff that you don't agree with? Creating a weak hashtag? Posting a picture of herself sitting on some steps waiting for justice?

Emily pankhurst would turn in her grave.

I wonder if she's still on the steps? I wonder if the other instamamas will have to come and talk her down? 'Come on Tasha babe it's getting dark...we've got wine..come on hon, you've made your point.'

PavlovaPrincess · 06/05/2018 08:29

langkaw · 06/05/2018 08:30

I'm going to sit on the steps next time I want something to be banned. I might do it about virtue signalling on Facebook. I wonder if Facebook will listen?

Goingovertosusanshouse · 06/05/2018 08:32

It does make a mockery of actual bullying and I also think some of this mental muthas business is making a mockery of those with mental health issues, like Asha.

langkaw · 06/05/2018 08:36

Yes. I'll support mental health when I agree with your mental health. That's not how it works nb.
