Would you be pissed off if your partner went to one of these sleazy places? Am I overreacting to be pissed off about dh going to one when he knew I'd be cross about it ? I'm not hopping mad but I'm certainly very unimpressed!

Wingz Wink

SmileEachDay · 03/05/2018 21:39

Wingz.

And hotelz.

Kettlepotblack · 03/05/2018 21:40

I've been in many a lap dancing club though too and don't batter an eyelid at that sort of thing.

I get the impression people with these views think they are, like, sooo liberated. The irony.

FranticallyPeaceful · 03/05/2018 21:44

We’re from the UK and never been to hooters, and my ex went to US with his Mrs and wanted to go to hooters, so his Mrs shrugged and was like yeah sure. My ex (and me) expected some sleezy bar, but actually it was full of families and had really good food. Absolutely nothing like people think apparently!

Yorkshirebetty · 03/05/2018 21:53

Full of families. Good food. Near hotels. Not sleazy. Confused So it's just like a TGI Friday's or a KFC?? Right.

theaveragewife · 03/05/2018 21:56

Don’t forget the boobz

SmileEachDay · 03/05/2018 21:56

Better wingz though, Yorkshire

Yorkshirebetty · 03/05/2018 22:00

SmileEachDay Grin It's surely cheaper just to buy a bucket of KFC and look at a lads mag??

Yorkshire they are the bestest wingz though.

Like, good enough to overlook the complete and utter misogynist bullshit.

Reeeeeeeeally gooooood.

MapleSap1 · 04/05/2018 09:42

Is wingz the new menz?

I don't know why adding a z to any word is a thing, but hey. Copying it like a mindless drone is definitely a pass into the cool girls club!

MillicentF · 04/05/2018 09:54

"Is wingz the new menz?

Only if they are both close to the hotelz.....

IcedPurple · 04/05/2018 16:25

Can you remember what the male waiting staff wore, Frantically Peaceful? Since 'families' normally consist of at least one adult male and one adult female, what was there to amuse the women?

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 04/05/2018 17:06

what was there to amuse the women?

According to a handful of posters, the joy of knowing 'their man' was free to knaw on vile chicken wings while leering at women in tiny clothes is amusement enough.

It's heartwarming really.

MillicentF · 04/05/2018 18:18

Well, as only 25% of Hooters customers are women, it’s not surprising that the entertainment is aimed at men........

IcedPurple · 04/05/2018 19:12

Really? And there was me thinking it was a 'family restaurant' and 'families' would spend hours in a car just to get there and sample those chicken wingz.

Apparantly they're really good.

SmileEachDay · 04/05/2018 19:30

Doesn’t matter if it’s hours away Iced.

They can stay over after they’ve ogled the wingz.

IcedPurple · 04/05/2018 19:40

And in any case, the superb chicken wingz aside, Hooters is really near the hotel. So everything is fab.

kaytee87 · 04/05/2018 19:45

We went when on honeymoon in Miami. It's just a sports bar really with American bar food. I didn't even notice the uniforms being particularly skimpy in all honesty.

SmileEachDay · 04/05/2018 19:48

kaytee it’s called Hooters

kaytee87 · 04/05/2018 19:51

I know what's it's called...

The waitresses were wearing shorts and tshirts I think. It was hot, i was wearing a bikini under a a kimono maybe that's why I didn't think their clothes were odd.
I've never been to one anywhere else though and only went for food as it was the closest place to where our boat trip dropped off.

Yorkshirebetty · 04/05/2018 19:51

kaytee so, on your honeymoon your husband took you to Hooters?! The old romantic Hmm

kaytee87 · 04/05/2018 19:53

No he didn't 'take me' anywhere... our boat trip dropped us off next to one and we were hungry so went in for food.
I don't tend to follow my husband around 😂

IcedPurple · 04/05/2018 19:55

What were the male waiters wearing, kaytee?

Presumably tighty whites and muscle tops?

kaytee87 · 04/05/2018 19:56

There were male barmen and they were wearing black tshirts the same as the women. Couldn't see their bottom half's Smile
