Would you be pissed off if your partner went to one of these sleazy places? Am I overreacting to be pissed off about dh going to one when he knew I'd be cross about it ? I'm not hopping mad but I'm certainly very unimpressed!

OP posts:
Whizbang · 01/05/2018 10:06

That does indeed sound fabulous Millicent and a million times better than sleazy Hooters.

Although perhaps we are doing them a disservice. After all Hooters are clearly providing a valuable public service in providing weary husbands with conveniently located chicken eateries.

Love it. It’s still making me chuckle now. Hooray for MN!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 01/05/2018 10:08

Yes, it's amusing how "worked up" and "hysterical" all the Hooters fans are. It's always the same on threads like this. Ad hominems flying in an attempt to stop any discussion of men's entitlement to have tits with their wings and beer

“Pearl clutching “Puritanical “Prude” All ways of stopping women taking a critical stance about sexist bullshit

This ^^

The posters who are falling over themselves to make sure that 'their men' can leer at women while gorging on chicken are just as much dinosaurs as the men who can't stand the thought of not being able to do it.

Some more sensible answers, definitely a few sound birds on here

'Sound birds'? Yes, there will always be women who will - apparently - defend to the death your right to leer at women over your 'delicious' chicken wings.

Thank God other women - and men - give a shit about trying to improve the landscape for the next generation of women.

MillicentF · 01/05/2018 10:21

It's very unsettling to have your preconceptions challenged. Quite natural to lash out a bit.

clockworklime · 01/05/2018 10:26

Plot twist: It’s actually called Hooters because those delicious wings are actually owl wings

Nooooo!! Really? GrinGrinGrin

Whizbang · 01/05/2018 10:34

Actually I really hope not, but v funny in light of this thread!

Badbilly · 01/05/2018 10:41

In the interest of providing an actual fact about Hooters, the only one I am aware of (Nottingham), has THREE hotels within 400 yards of it.

Jury's Inn.
Premier Inn
New one near the station I don't know the name of.

Helmetbymidnight · 01/05/2018 10:57

Oh its a relief you've come on here with actual facts!

So is Hooters the ONLY restaurant in Nottingham?

Badbilly · 01/05/2018 11:10

So is Hooters the ONLY restaurant in Nottingham?

It's in a part of Nottingham that is currently being re-developed and unless you walk into the City centre it is quite an isolated restaurant-but obviously not the only restaurant-we have a MacDonald's too!

It's actually situated in a very old building that used to be a factory, most likely something to do with Lace or Clothing, and they have knocked down many similar buildings in the vicinity, and are in the process of building shiny new ones to take their place.

Kettlepotblack · 01/05/2018 11:13

Do none of those hotels have restaurants actually in the hotel?

Do hotels not provide food in Nottingham?

Badbilly · 01/05/2018 11:43

Well, Premier Inn don't at all-they usually have a Pub or restaurant nearby owned by the same company.

Jury's in and "the new one by the station I don't know the name of" I have no idea, as I've never been in them.

I didn't realise there was a law that stated if a hotel had a restaurant you HAD to eat there.

Every day a school day.

Helmetbymidnight · 01/05/2018 12:02

I didn't realise there was a law that stated if a hotel had a restaurant you HAD to eat there.

Is that what she said, Bad 'Actual facts' Billy?

Why not try reading it again?

Herbalteahippie · 01/05/2018 12:04

I wouldn’t worry... the hooters girls wear naff tan tights and are not the glamorous temptresses that they are made out to be. Mostly rough tarts with pot bellies... however the food is really good!

Idontdowindows · 01/05/2018 12:07

Mostly rough tarts with pot bellies..

Misogyny, table for one?

Helmetbymidnight · 01/05/2018 12:12

Oh thanks Herbaltea, I won't worry about hubbie now.

Confused
NormskiNamechange · 01/05/2018 12:41

Tarts with pot bellies? 😟

See this is what makes me despair - what does it matter what a woman looks like? She doesn’t exist purely to please you. Her worth should not be based upon how much you approve of her appearance.

The status quo might suit you but it doesn’t suit me, so I’m not going to shut up just because you don’t like what I’ve got to say.

MillicentF · 01/05/2018 12:43

Can I suggest we ignore the wind up merchants? We’ve got enough to to do with real anti feminists without engaging with the silly sods...........

MorganKitten · 01/05/2018 12:47

No, the girls who work there know its a job - in fact its seen as a family place as its a sports bar. I go to one each time I visit the USA and pick up a t-shirt at each location, the food is really good!

Iggiattheend · 01/05/2018 12:49

I am currently on both this thread (Hooters) and one about sandals (Hotters) and it is getting a bit confusing.

Helmetbymidnight · 01/05/2018 12:50

the girls who work there know its a job

??

Um. Well obviously, most people understand that their job is a job, don't they? What a curious thing to say.

noblegiraffe · 01/05/2018 12:53

its seen as a family place

This is just really weird. If you fancy going to a breastaurant, why on earth would you bring your kids? And if it’s for a meal and not the breasts, why not go to, I dunno, Nandos? It’s not like there’s a shortage of restaurants where you can bring kids.

MillicentF · 01/05/2018 12:54

“No, the girls who work there know its a job”

Well, I would hope so. Not sure what you mean.

MillicentF · 01/05/2018 12:55

If it’s seen as a family place, why are 75% of the customers men?

sugarr · 01/05/2018 12:57

Mostly rough tarts with pot bellies
