The strange, alien like yellow ball appeared in the sky for the first time this year so I dashed out and put the laundry on the line and sat in the garden in the sun. Now? It's bloody raining again.

We've had a dry and fairly sunny weekend so far in Glasgow. Makes a pleasant change.

IAmMotherOfDragons · 29/04/2018 13:03

Same.... races to put on quick wash, only for it to pigging rain just as the washer finished! !!! It's hail stoning now

Titsywoo · 29/04/2018 13:06

It's not really unusual for this time of year. It was snowing in the south east at the end of April 2 years ago.

Ardant · 29/04/2018 13:13

I love it so yes Grin

eddiemairswife · 29/04/2018 13:49

Really cold here(West Mids). My daughter's birthday today; the day after she was born her two older brothers were in next door's paddling pool. It was 52 years ago.

moita · 29/04/2018 14:01

Yes - I have an incredibly bored toddler. He asks to go out but is incredibly fair-weathered and hates being out in the wind and rain Blush

imweirdandcool · 29/04/2018 14:26

so move to Spain you have been living in the UK your whole life (I assume) so you know what the weather is like

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 14:28

yes, great time to abandon all your life here and decamp abroad just in time for Brexit Hmm

The weather is truly shit at the moment, tomorrow in the SE it will be even shittier.

witchofzog · 29/04/2018 14:31

so move to Spain Hmm

Like that is so easy. Really helpful post Confused

We have had a lot of bad weather this year and most people I know have commented that winter this year has been harsher and longer. It is colder today than expected for late April, at least where I am anyway. I have worn my winter coat for what feels a like forever when normally I would be in a light blazer by now. Yanbu

hellswelshy · 29/04/2018 14:34

Ha ha at the poster who said move to Spain!! Do you not understand how therapeutic it is to moan about the weather? ?
Seriously though op, totally with you. I want to hang my washing out and potter in the garden!

HelloBlueSkies · 29/04/2018 14:44

I've lived my whole life in the UK (over 40 years) and I've no flipping idea what the weather's going to do next!

We're going to Wales at the end of May, I'm packing shorts, wellies, sunglasses and thermals and assuming it's going to rain! Anything else will be a bonus Wink

IHaveACuntingPlan · 29/04/2018 15:38

7 years ago, when ds was born, we were hanging the washing out every day and it was gloriously sunny.

I hate it when it's too hot but I hate constant rain.

We need to paint the summerhouse. We have the paint, the brushes, the masking tape and everything. We're just waiting for a long enough break in the rain tonight actually do it.

dayinlifeof · 29/04/2018 15:38

so you know what the weather is like

Spring isn't normally this cold and wet.

OP posts:
maxthemartian · 29/04/2018 15:42

It's awful. A long, long, hard winter and so far a freezing cold, grey and miserable spring bar than random tantalising few hot days a week ago.
I am soooo bored and fed up of it.

maxthemartian · 29/04/2018 15:44

And I'm on the coast and the bastarding wind hasn't stopped for weeks so most sunny days it's still shit out.

Babymamaroon · 29/04/2018 15:52

YANBU in the slightest! I'm sick to the back teeth of freezing, grey, rainy days. It's relentless. Come on Sun! What have we done to offend you so?????

VioletCharlotte · 29/04/2018 16:11

Me too!! It's completely shit isn't it? It's been freezing here all day, for the heating on. When I went out with the dog, I had boots and a winter coat on.. it's nearly May ffs!!

user1457017537 · 29/04/2018 16:16

I think it will continue like this all year. Longest winter I’ve ever known and I’m old

Efrig · 29/04/2018 16:35

It’s so cold. We’re still lighting the fire and wearing bed socks.

DGRossetti · 29/04/2018 16:46

Shit isn't it ? (West Midlands here).

Most of last week it's looked like October, and today it feels like it ... the last few days appear to have sapped all the warmth Sad.

Nothing we can do about it.

Has there been some volcanic eruption that's blanketing the planet in grey ?

dayinlifeof · 29/04/2018 16:59

Normally there are loads of children playing out on our road but I've only seen them once or twice this year.

OP posts:
Peanutbuttercups21 · 29/04/2018 17:20

So cold here too (7C and cold northerly wind. Gloves and scarves weather!) In the SE.

Forecast for this week is even colder plus added rain brrrr

TheScandinavianWoman · 29/04/2018 17:22

Yes very cold here in London. It was just last week my DCs were wearing sandals and t-shirts, it was so hot. Now it's dull and grey, ugh.

Figgygal · 29/04/2018 17:24

It's just 8 degrees here I actually am starting to feel depressed about it every weekend sat here in the house am so bored!!!!!

4yoniD · 29/04/2018 17:28

7c here too, I've turned the heating back on - never done that before!
