To have wanted to stab this woman at the ATM

I went up to the ATM this afternoon and got there a split second behind another woman so just smiled at her and stood back.

She then proceeded to put her card in and out a couple of times doing different transactions, took out another card and did the same and then did a transaction on a third card. By the time she was finished there was half a dozen people waiting in the queue.

AIBU to think she was a selfish cow who should have let me go ahead when she knew she was going to be ages?

midnight in that case a lot of words shouldn't be thrown around, surely????

JacquesHammer · 25/04/2018 19:40

Are you going to tell me you never have any?

Not about people using cash machines to withdraw cash. Or paying for shopping with money that’s for sure!

I bet she was en route to M&S to get the assistant to add her sparks offers while the queue circles the store and then have a long chat about the food ones and whether she should go back or just get off to the bus where she'll wait for it to come, get on and then get her purse out. Wink

I truly think patience is much harder for some people. I'm sure it's a symptom which is part of some yet unnamed syndrome.

Entitled syndrome. There, I named it Grin

People need to calm right down and think "In a hundred years, who'll give a shit". Think I got that from a film.

mustbemad17 · 25/04/2018 19:45

Maybe some of us have patience in certain situations over others? I mean, at work surrounded by stress i had all the patience in the world. Maybe i used it all up 🤔
Not sure what my excuse now is...boredom maybe 😆

I would have been swearing under my breath and in a rage but would have swiftly forgotten about it and not written a thread on Mumsnet

iwasjustakid · 25/04/2018 19:52

I would have set the ATM on fire. I get this type of rage 😂 you're not alone.

Grin so entitled with their disabilities and sore limbs and dizziness and need to take their time.

clyde5591 · 25/04/2018 19:57

That's ATM's for you - as you allowed the person to go ahead of you then it's rude to complain about the person going ahead about their business.
If you were in such a rush why didn't you say?
I really can't see what your problem is?

Re: OP and bus commute - yes its irritating but its life and aren't other people irritating when they do not do what you want - move faster, pay quicker etc.

Whether you allow these issues to affect your mood or life is another matter

mustbemad17 · 25/04/2018 19:59

iwas careful, arson is a very serious thing to joke about 🌞

This thread amuses me, thanks OP

kitkatsky · 25/04/2018 20:00

I've been annoyed in this situation. Until I realised the people who need to do this are usually doing it out of necessity to find some money in an account somewhere to allow them to eat. It changed my perspective

iwasjustakid · 25/04/2018 20:04

@mustbemad17 so is stabbing someone 😂

mustbemad17 · 25/04/2018 20:06

iwas sorry, the sarcasm didn't come through 🙈🙈🙈

iwasjustakid · 25/04/2018 20:07

@mustbemad17 no it did 😂 you're fine! Thought it was funny 👀

It's not the people at the cash machine that gives the the rage, it's the cash machine asking me 20 questions before it gives me my money! Would you like cash, view balance or statement? Cash please. Do you want to view balance first? No. How much cash? A bloody tenner. Do you want a receipt? For God's sake.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 25/04/2018 20:10

People with disabilities slowing them down are obvs not acting in an entitled manner.

Yes, that was my point.

mustbemad17 · 25/04/2018 20:10

bobster that's even more frustrating when the sun is behind you & you can't properly see what the idiot machine is asking 😂
