To have wanted to stab this woman at the ATM

I went up to the ATM this afternoon and got there a split second behind another woman so just smiled at her and stood back.

She then proceeded to put her card in and out a couple of times doing different transactions, took out another card and did the same and then did a transaction on a third card. By the time she was finished there was half a dozen people waiting in the queue.

AIBU to think she was a selfish cow who should have let me go ahead when she knew she was going to be ages?

I completely agree with you. I would have the rage here to. If I was the ATM Nightmare lady, I would have stepped back and said 'I have a lot of transactions - if you are just getting cash then please go ahead of me'

If you took that spot and then did more than withdraw cash, then you are the problem here.

Its a general rule of etiquette that you don't do multiple transactions at the ATM unless it is quiet or you are at a bank of ATMs, so the queue is not completely halted behind you. Go to the branch or split them up. Some people have no idea of public decency.

I had a dreadful situation at Christmas in Lidl. Go to the checkout, one guy ahead of me. Full trolley of food, fair play its Christmas. I had one item. So the shopping goes through and he comes to pay and can't find his wallet. Left it in his car. Queue building up behind me. So he wanders off to his car with no sense of urgency to get wallet. Time passes. No sign of this joker anywhere. Eventually comes back and says he left it at home. Takes an eternity to void the transaction. He just pushes the trolley to one side and walks off.

My patience was tested.

So how long did you have to wait? A couple of minutes? I can almost hear you tutting from here. I have sometimes had to use 2 or 3 cards but I also look drunk (I'm not...) and if I hear anyone tutting behind me I quietly apologise for my terminal disease and financial savviness for delaying them for 3 minutes.

@notacooldad read some of the comments on this thread! The OP posts a description of a frustrating event, and says she wants to "stab" someone. Then posters pile on saying "calm down" and "really you want to stab someone?"

They explain in detail what calm, sweet people they are and how they never get worked up. It makes me want to stab them.

This thread is quite amusing. I'm one of them that posted that I don't get worked up about much ( although I used to ). In this situation I simply couldnt be arsed raising my blood pressure over something that took a couple of minutes longer than expected.

Maybe the ATM is at fault here. Once a transaction is completed it gives you the option to carry on and do something else.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting annoyed at anyone for taking a long time at the ATM.... So long as you realise it's you that has a problem and its nothing to do with 'them'

Someone accidentally sent me a text at 5.30 this morning, when it had already taken me ages to get to sleep.

I remarked to someone else that I 'felt like killing them'.

Then I thought of this thread and smiled. I definitely need to go to anger therapy to get rid of my murderous inclinations.
