I’m at home in bed today (day off work) with bad period cramps and all I want is my mum’s homemade tomato soup with warm crusty bread covered in lashings of butter.
My OH’s apple crumble would go down nicely right now too.
What do you crave when you’re feeling sorry for yourself? Or when you just fancy something that you really enjoy?

LightDrizzle · 25/04/2018 21:29

Rotisserie s chicken with buttery mashed potatoes and cauliflower cheese made with Knorr packet cheese sauce!
No matter how delicate I’m feeling I can fancy that.

Angie169 · 25/04/2018 21:37

Razzlefrazzle · 25/04/2018 21:49

Toasted bagel with loads of butter and lemon curd. I'm doing a sugar detox at the moment, this thread is making me SOO hungry!

BillyAndTheSillies · 25/04/2018 21:58

Tomato soup with a cheese sandwich on white bread.

Or toast with litres of butter and marmite.

Or cream crackers with butter and cheddar.

But it has to be made for me, it doesn't taste the same if I have to leave the sofa to get it myself.

FriendlyOcelot · 25/04/2018 22:01

Overnight oats, soaked in milk, and mixed with mashed banana, vanilla extract, raspberries, coconut flakes, chia, pistachios and honey.

Sponge or sticky toffee pud with vanilla ice cream.

Salted caramel poured onto ice cream

FriendlyOcelot · 25/04/2018 22:01

Oh yes... and marmite on toast!

Titsywoo · 25/04/2018 22:05

SleightOfMind · 25/04/2018 22:10

Cheese.
Melty if it’s cold or rainy outside, or with lovely pickly things and freshly baked bread when it’s sunny.

onemorecakeplease · 25/04/2018 22:11

Syrup on toast with lots of butter

Yorkshire puddings with syrup

Pickled onion sandwich on white bread

Sparklesocks · 25/04/2018 22:16

Tesco do this chicken and pancetta bake ready meal, it’s got cheese on the top and little potatoes and a white wine sauce. It’s literally pure sugar, fat and salt!

I tend to cook from scratch most nights but once in a while i have it as a treat - love it!

Coralcolouredchrome · 25/04/2018 22:18

Treacle tart with thick custard, mmmmmm, very moreish.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 25/04/2018 22:23

Spaghetti bolognaise all the way! Can’t get enough if the stuff

Sunshinedaze · 25/04/2018 22:29

Unfortunately, anything high in carbs, fatty junk food.

Takeaways ( who wants to cook when they feel like crap?) so Pizza, fried rice, chips.
If I can’t get a takeaway ; spaghetti / pasta dish, with bread

Chocolate and Crisps as snacks.

Sunshinedaze · 25/04/2018 22:30

Oh and donuts or custard tarts.

slyoldfox · 25/04/2018 22:31

Chips and beans

TheImprobableGirl · 25/04/2018 22:37

Heinz tomato soup with (crusty white bread, butter and mature cheddar) sandwiches. Sandwiches dipped into soup. In fact I’ve Just discovered I’ve had a MMC at 12 weeks and I think I will have this when I’m out of hospital Smile

TheImprobableGirl · 25/04/2018 22:39

Didn’t read yours @billieandthesillies but tomato soup and cheese sandwiches are the food of gods

BonnieF · 25/04/2018 22:40

Sandwiches, the simpler the better.

Ham & mustard, egg salad, tuna mayo, bacon, cheese & pickle. All on white bread with Lurpak.
